Super cute family owned shop! I was very eager to visit Dancing dog. We just moved to the area and I was hoping to find a new spot for my 13wk old German shepherd (Pictured) and I. I decided to stop in before getting my daughter from school. Unfortunately I had a very scary experience. After picking out some duck jerky, I stood in line behind another shopper. When a cute shop dog came walking in, and as I said hi to him (without touching him) he began to growl at me. I just smiled, while I looked at the owner a little confused and concerned. only for him to get even more angry. His hair stood up, and he began to bark at me. The shopper in front of me, and the owner (I believe they knew each other) told him to stop while trying to calm him with treats, and attempt to usher him behind the counter away from me. Only for him to come back around and continue to bark at me. i told them I would just leave as I was scared and uncomfortable. I went to put my items back. And when I left, The dog followed me outside, he continued to bark at me up until I was completely out of sight. I am a 4’11” 100lb female…. Nothing about me is scary or intimidating… I was told it was because of my mask. I don’t know, it was scary but I’m just glad I wasn’t bit. the owner was very nice and apologetic, but I don’t feel comfortable going back with the chance that could happen again..

I LOVE dancing dog!!!!! I have bought doggie coats, treats, and toys here. The owner/operator is absolutely delightful and she only has superb offerings in her shop. Only love for animals allowed in her presence!!I am a local; however, I suggest every traveler and local to visit! All dog needs will be met here with a smile and grateful aura. Thank you, Dancing Dog!

We have been shopping at Dancing Dog for the past two years or so and have had good experiences. A few days ago, we went to purchase a few bags of food wherein the shop dog, Ranger, growled and snapped at my wife. We are both dog owners and dog lovers and attempted to dismiss it as no big deal. But when we mentioned it to the shop owner, she accused my wife of not approaching him correctly. The last thing we want to do is tell someone how to control their pet, but when the pet shows aggression (this was NOT the first time this has happened as we’ve found from other posts, reviews, and friends in town), it is the responsibility of the owner to ensure they have control of their pet. The owner of both the shop and the pet chose to blame us for her negligence and inability to keep her customers safe - a simple apology would have sufficed. We want nothing more than to support a local small business, but in this situation, we can’t recommend patronizing this store, go to another. Hopefully, the store owner will do the right thing and fix this issue before something happens to someone less forgiving

I live in town and stopped in today for the first time. As soon as I entered I was approached by employee's/owner's dog and it bit me as soon as I pulled my hand out of my pocket. Lady proceeded to yell at me to not "reach to pet dogs head because he bites!" It did the same to every person that came in with me, the dog approached my family and nipped atevery hand. Maybe don't bring the dog or be more responsible and keep it on leash at least if it's going to bite/nip at people's hands. After seeing other reviews about issues with an aggressive store dog, I would recommend calling animal control if the same happens to you because it isn't first time the dog's been aggressive and bit someone and the shop clearly isn't going to remedy the situation. Next time it could be a small child...

Questioned how pitbull proof the lifetime warranty ball was. It's been months, the ball is perfectly fine, still amazed. Wonderful shopping experience. Carolyn really cares about the quality of her stuff. For anyone looking for great quality at an affordable price this is the place.

Great stop for squeaky toys! Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Loved being greeted by sweet ranger! Thank you very much for the Christmas gifts he will love them
