Had a great time over Memorial day weekend. Campground is well kept, great location just a few miles to Salida. We camped right next to the river,(if you can get one of these spots they are awesome). 3 things I guess that were a bit of a bummer but probably for the best was Verizon does not have service in this area, the wifi was a little sketchy so it provided some challenges trying to manage a little work while we stayed here and no wood burning fires per the camp ground policiy. I totally get it with all the fire we have had for many years in Colorado . I wasn't aware of the policy and did not have a propane option with us. All that said I would highly recommend staying here and we will again in the future.

Park is a little tight but well kept, in a beautiful location and close enough to Salida for exploring. Biggest worry was the bridge coming in, which is only rated for 18,000 lbs for a two-axle motorhome. Our 33' class A weighs that much empty, and close to 21k lbs as we travel down the road. I saw other motorhomes in the park bigger than ours that had obviously made it, so I took the chance, but would rather not push my luck again. Also, don't miss the last turn into the park after you cross the bridge as there is a low clearance train trestle immediately after the park entrance. We were told by a park neighbor that a 5th wheel had run into it the week before we were there!

Wow! Non stop views and the river was amazing! The camp hosts kept the park in beautiful shape. I always find it humorous reading through reviews, as so many of the lower stared ones are the people that can't follow the simple rules that make camping in close proximity to others a seamless experience. Will be back!

We stayed for 10 days in October of 2020. We enjoyed it so much that we spent 3 months this summer. Beautiful campground with lots of shade trees, right on the Arkansas River. The camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. There is no one like Charlie to get large RVs into their site!! The campground is well maintained with an area of grass for each site. Really enjoyed our summer... Hated to leave.

Lovely, well maintained location on the river. Lots of shade, a playground for the kids and a dog park. My husband and I stayed in the cabin while our son and his family had a space for their RV. We were greeted, directed to our spots and treated with the utmost kindness and hospitality. The cabin was way more then we expected- spacious and comfortable. Thank you so much for the thought and effort you put in to make this such an oasis! May the baby chicks do well and may you have a great summer.

Nice spots for different size rvs. Very large ones may have a problem. The river sites are great. The other spots are great to. Campground is on the North side of the river so it's not right on HWY 50.Great owners and hosts.Nearby activities: Trails nearby

If you can get a river adjacent site, do it! It was the best campsite we’ve had since joining the RV world in 2020. The owners were very friendly and the best back-up help - I could have done it blind. Deducted 1 star because the facilities aren’t great (1 men’s shower bathroom combo, shower on a timer. My wife had hot water issues). Located near the Royal Gorge, rafting, zip lines and trails - no shortage of activities.

Nice family, very helpful. Wonderful RV park, plenty for kids to do at the playground. Dog park is nice. Very clean.Sites are easy to get in and out, well maintained and nice sitting area. Easy access to river. Off the road so very quite and locked gate makes it less traffic. Great place for a weeks stay. Not to far from Royal Gorge and scenic drive in any direction. Loved our short stay and will have it on the list for next time

I’d give this place 4.5 stars, I personally found the hosts/owners very hospitable, the lady at the front desk was very nice and even told us about some local hiking and driving trails nearby, her husband escorted us to our spot and even helped me back in, sure there are some modern conveniences that could be improved upon, the lack of wifi at all the spots is not ideal, but the brown building in the middle does have good wifi, so you can at least go there to check weather and emails. The scenery surrounding this place is amazing, we were in spot 7 and had the river and huge mountain peaks right out of our front door. One other suggestion to the owners, is be careful of weather temps and the automatic sprinklers for the grass at each spot, one of our nights there the temp got down to 26, when I opened the door the sprinkler had sprayed onto our steps and froze, luckily I saw the ice before stepping out. Overall we had a great time, very peaceful and relaxing.

Small patch of grass at each site not for usage. Full hookups were quite nice. Space backs up to river with a very beautiful nice view and sound of river flowing. Fishing was possible nearby at the common area. Campground hosts were very friendly and experts at directing our parking of camper. Many sites appear to be occupied for the summer season by southerners escaping the heat of Texas. We would stay in the future if the owners actually open the restrooms and showers which are listed as available in the website listing. We had to travel 4 miles to use public restrooms in the state park. No attempt was made to provide even a portable restroom for use at this park. Rates were not reduced to offset the elimination of restrooms and showers. Another camper advised me that the restrooms and showers have been closed for 2 years. Laundromat facilities in the restroom building were operational in spite of closed restrooms.

This is a relatively small park with mature trees and right next to the magnificent sound and view of the Arkansas River. The owners keep the park very clean and have put significant effort into landscaping and comfortable seating to enjoy the views of the river and surrounding mountains. They have used rock, timbers and planted all over the property to make your stay more enjoyable. We splurged on a river site which was awesome but almost all the sites are fantastic. Wifi was fair but ATT reception was very good for general Internet use. I would highly recommend a stay here.

What a great RV park nestled in the mountains right next to the Arkansas river. Royal Gorge is near by as well as Monarch Pass. Great hiking, rafting and fishing near by. I caught a few fish just a few steps from the RV. The town of Salina is 13 miles away if you need any supplies. Thanks Nicole for a great time. We hope to be back.

I cannot recommend this park. This area is one of my favorites in Colorado but surely there is a better place.I am adding a note that I am writing this review 6 months after our stay as I wanted to have other experiences to compare our time at Pleasant Valley. Here's are reasons why I would not recommend or go back:1. Wifi is non-existent. You can "check" your email but certainly don't try to open or view it.2. Only cell coverage is AT&T3. One of most expensive places we've stayed. And keep an eye on your deposit. This is the only park that did NOT apply our deposit towards our monthly amount and then charge us electricity after. Be sure to check you get refunded your deposit afterwards. To be extremely clear - we were refunded but had to call 3 weeks after our departure date to get a receipt and track the refund.4. There are about 20 signs reminding you to pick up after your dog and ZERO trash cans in common areas.5. Management - while I can't remember what Nicole (owner/manager) said when we were checking me in but I vividly remember thinking "oh - you're one of those." PLEASE read other reviews to validate. My husband went to town for a few supplies and he hadn't gotten out of his truck before she was all over him about moving it. And don't you dare put anything the grass area next to your spot.

Never had a better experience in an RV Park. Nichole and Josh are amazing. Great access to the Arkansas River and there are big browns here. The hospitality is 10/10. Don't hesitate to book here. They will help you park your rig in just the right spot!

I have had a family emergency and had to cancel my trip. I had a $250 deposit. I called in Middle May for a reservation in late August for 2 weeks. Nicole Lewis states they will Not refund any of this what a SCAM!! I will be putting this out to BBB and anything else I can think of... friends, family, strangers. I am very upset!! And thank you for your nasty reply, both on the phone and on this. I am sure you will enjoy making that double rv lot rent.

Expensive, but nice sitting areas by the river. A river view lot means you may have to walk to the back of your space to see the river. The "shower boss" mechanism in the very small shower means you could wait in the shower 15 minutes for the cold or lukewarm water to come back on to rinse off.Restrooms: See above.

This RV Park is amazing. We went there for the weekend and had a great time. The owners made sure that everything went great, from making the reservation to getting in our campsite. Being right on the river was a great bonus to this place. Also having a gated entrance was a nice touch. It has been the best RV park that we have stayed at since we started RV camping.

No Covid measures at all. The store/office had a sign requiring face masks to enter but the owners did not wear or even attempt to wear a mask when I entered the store/office to check in. The restrooms were closed and we were not told this when I first corresponded with owner. The laundry was available by appointment but the camp host went in laundry room after being used without a mask and did not disinfect the common area. I feel they owners and hosts were not interested in keeping any common areas germ free, so they simply locked and closed the restrooms. As far as the facilities, the spots are very tight and with a small patch of yard grass that you are unable to use at all. Hookups are not adjacent to parking spot at least for site 32. We had an interior spot and I was happy that we did not splurge for river spot since there is no access to river. As a rebuttal to your snarky reply we watched the host go into laundry and not sanitize and if you thought I was unhappy upon arrival why don’t you go above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy? Cookie cutter park won’t ever be back, funny that our camp neighbors all agreed. Have a nice day! Btw does your husband also have a medic al condition requiring no mask or are you just science deniers? Thanks but worst rv park ever

I can't begin to express what a wonderful company this is. Nicole from Pleasant Valley RV Park is amazing. I called her a week before Mother's Day knowing that due to COVID-19 my sister and I wouldn't be able to spend the day with her; for the first time in our lives. I originally asked if there was something simple in the camp store that she wouldn't mind delivering to my mom at her camp site as a funny gift. Instead Nicole went above and beyond to go to a local nursery, pick out this beautiful arrangement, and hand deliver it to my mom on the day. She took time out of her day away from her own mom to do this. I can't begin to express how much she and this company came through for my family in these challenging times. On top of all of that, my parents are loving their stay here. If this is how far they go for a non-customer, just think what they will do for you. If you're looking to stay around Howard, CO you must stay here! Thank you Pleasant Valley RV Park!

My husband and I stayed there one night this summer. Wish we would have had more time to stay. The owners were very friendly. The park had a great atmosphere and view of the river. By far the best RV park if you like quiet and peaceful.

We were originally booked to stay a month. Our family arrived several days ahead of us and informed us that there was no cell service and the wifi didn't work. We asked if we could get our deposit back or take it as credit and stay later in the year. She was very short in her response and said we would lose the deposit. So we went... On arrival she was very unwelcoming. The gate was locked. She pulled up behind us and did not say a word. She finally opened the gate. After arguing with her about not wanting to stay and her telling me that if I just wanted to stay a few days that I would need to pay for that separately and lose the deposit she finally agreed to use the deposit to pay for the shorter stay. We satay 3 nights. No wifi.... When we the gate closed on our brand-new camper. She claimed no responsibility and would not help us with the damage. She would not even refund the remaining balance from our deposit. Stay somewhere else! Not worth meeting this really mean person.

Hard to rate this one. Park is Quiet, Clean and Located on the River. However, due to staffing and Season it was sometimes hard to get help. Also, it would have been good to know that all facilities were closed for Season. I have no doubt this Park will be perfect in Sept/Oct.

Neat and tidy grounds, friendly staff, reasonable rates. I stayed in one of the 3 "apartment" rooms, very clean and disinfected, including fridge (full kitchen), like a nice AirBnb but less expensive. Internet was fast, enough for a work video conference call. BIG trees, nice and shady in summer (not many trees in this area). Other side of river from the highway, very quiet at night. Walking distance over the river bridge to the only cafe' in town. I stumbled upon this place looking for a usual motel in Salida, this is a much more peaceful option Left relaxed and refreshed, with my net smelling of trout. Gas, hardware, deli, liqour store just down the road at Cotopaxi. I like pre-season on the Arkansas River, before all the tourists arrive, and PVRV was very accommodating in getting me into a room, it was snowing and I ruled out tent camping on the river. I'll be back to this place!

Hello new Owners.Visited 3 times 7 years ago.Pleasant Valley RV park was a great accidental find for my first RV park experience in Colorado, Owners of the Day Tammie got to know my 8 year old Granddaughter who made many rounds of the park on her bike and was my travel partner at the time. Loved being far enough off of Hwy 50 to enjoy the sound of the Arkansas and not the traffic unlike most all the other RV parks around there up to Salida Caught fresh trout that had a suspicious eye on my iron skillet as I carried them into the kitchen. Enjoyed seeing "The Sisters', each cool morning w/ Hot Coffee in my sweatshirt and shorts. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Check out the Deer across the highway. Nice place and it actually has trees (which is unusual for the area). Sammy the camp cat was super friendly and made our kids' trip. Very limited bathroom facility, but it should be fine because there is no tent camping.

Beautiful place. We came here for the peace and quiet that other reviews have talked about. Instead there was a very large and very loud party every night right outside of our window. Complete with loud music, line dancing, and party yelps. Sounded more like a downtown club than a peaceful rv resort. Disappointed that the owners allow this. We won't be back.

Great rv park right nextto the Arkansas river. Well shaded and well maintained. Quiet. Beautiful scenery. Great managers. We've been here 3 times this year.
