POOR QUALITYThe rancher I buy cows from had a 1/2 cow processed at this facility in Summer 2022. Since receiving the cow, I have had about 15 ground beef packages come out that look like the pictures I attached. It appears to have an incredibly high percentage of fat, which has made it more or less inedible. I tried to rectify this issue with the processor before posting a review, but they have not responded to the email I sent them over 2 weeks ago.

From Hotchkiss currently live in Junction. Have been using this facility for years with no complaints. I even had friends from Eagle go to Hotchkiss for processing and they loved it.

Used to be a great place to have your meat processed. Not so much any more! Cuts and packaging are wrong!! Price is out of control and staff is very unfriendly.

Can't say enough nice things about these good folks. Great experience all the way around. We took in two mule deer and then a cow elk a few days later. They were all three ready for us on our return trip a few days later. Pam was gracious enough to open the store on her day off to let us pick it up. She let the wives do some shopping why we loaded the coolers. everything we have eaten has been excellent. You get your own animal back, so how you treat your game before dropping it off has a lot to do with the flavor when you get it back.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I LOVE THEIR JERKY!! I usually buy masterblend, hillbilly and teriyaki jerky and it is so so good! Their bratwurst is really good too. My favorites include the philly, and the honey ginger.

I had high hopes for getting my deer processed here, but most of my ground has had chunks of tendon ground in it and has not been edible. Then most of my steaks have had hair all over it and a quite a few were not even sealed. Very disappointed with the way my deer was processed especially after paying a few hundred dollars and taking the time to hunt and harvest my animal and not even being able to enjoy the meat..

I have been using Hotchkiss Meats for my wild game for the past 6 years and they never disappoint. They have a ton of options which is a great plus. Make sure to be very specific about what you want. But that's not their fault just me not reading the options thoroughly. I also know I will always get the animal I brought in back. I know because I can taste the difference. Just had some of my elk brats and they are delicious!

Hotchkiss Meats is a huge Blessing to our family! Literally!!! We sent meat there to be packaged and processed back in November 2020. Covid hit, I got very sick and then my 100 yr old mother passed and our lives were devastated. I couldn’t afford to get our order. I kicked myself...$1800 just gone. Then, in early March, my phone rang. It was this honest, compassionate company calling to see if we still wanted to pick up our order. No additional fees or anything! What a Blessing!!! I wish there was a six star option if that tells you anything about this company. Awesome meats to choose from and I recommend getting the jerky for your hunting needs and the peppered bacon for breakfast. They are a full butchery with all the equipment you need to get that meat in your freezer for a long winter. I will be back!

For over a decade we buy half a pig from Zimmerman Pork and have it processed. The old Hotchkiss Meats was terrible and short changed us. So we shifted to Montrose for processing, despite the drive, and also tried Homestead Meats in Delta. But the new owners of Hotchkiss Meats are better butchers than all the others, fairly priced and quality cut. I'll be back every year.

I have been using them for around 8 years - mostly pigs and lambs. They always do a great job. I drive 1 1/2 hours, it's worth it.

We're from out of town an everyone we talked to suggested this place to take the elk we killed. Won't do it again when we come back. They may have given us all our ground meat back but shorted us atleast 2 of the back strap. They were 2.5-3 ft long each an we got 8 small packs of sliced back strap back. When I say small they fit in the palm of my hand. The inside loin was over a foot long each. Next time we will take the meat home for our local processor.

Hotchkiss Meats makes award-winning bratwurst and specialty sausage. We love to take our elk and venison trim to Hotchkiss Meats and they make great brats and Italian sausage for us. Yum!

Been taking our pigs and wild game here for the last several years and always have been extremely pleased with the quality. Even when a problem occurred, they went above and beyond to make it right for us.

If you want the meat you took in back I would not suggest this place. Took an archery deer here when ONLY archery was open. When we got the meat back, the brats that he insisted on had lead in it. When we called they said that must of been someone elses end of the meat in the brat maker....the only way that would be if it was a poached deer!!!!!!
