Have been going to this bait shop for about 2 years now since fishing Granby and grand lake. The owner (i think it’s the owner) is very helpful with what’s working and most importantly he has fresh suckers vs the store bought ones. I think it makes a huge difference…had my pb last time using exactly what he told me to use, will be back soon!

Best bait shop in Granby. It’s actually my favorite bait shop anywhere. Mike and the staff are the nicest. They always have cookies for me in there. They are very helpful on what tube and lures to buy. They always have great sucker meat too. Thank you for being so great.

Wow. What a great shop! Mike knows this area inside and out for fly fishing and ice fishing. He is clearly an expert in both areas and is eager to share his knowledge. We were up here for the weekend and were looking for a place to fish. He gave us great spots and got us set up on excellent ice fishing tackle along with great advice for our passion, fly fishing. He ties a pile of flies that he offers at his shop and certainly spins up killer patterns. Hopefully we can get back here in a few months. If you want to be successful on the water and have an enjoyable day, you need to stop by this shop!

This is a great shop for fly fishing and Mike is great to work with. Started coming here for suggestions and never failed to catch a fish with Mike's suggestions. Also had a great time with Drew the guide on the Colorado River. Was able to get everyone a fish on the day and even snagged a 21-22 inch rainbow!

My family and I spent a week in the Granby area and this place was our go-to resource for great fishing advice (we caught trout!) and friendly service – not to mention the right bait for any time of year. The owner was incredibly helpful and even set up our rods for us in record time and for a low, low price. If you’re looking to fish around Granby then this is the place to go first!

Mike is a god send, I may go as far as rename my first born child after him, sure my sons 18, and a name change may be weird, but whatever, I do what I want. Mike have my wife and I some real and honest fishing advice today and we are ever so great full. We aren’t pro anglers, we’re just a couple who loves to fish. Doing our first ice fishing tournament is stressful enough, even more stressful when everyone you talk to thinks you’re trying to steal their “super trade secrets” nope we’d just be happy getting a fish on the line. During our family getaway to Granby/Grand Lake area, I wanted to try my hand at some ice fishing. I knew Ice fishing was going to be a little different than fishing farm ponds in Missouri but wanted to give it a shot. We got a hold of Mike at Granby Bait and Tackle and reserved the things we were going to need for our trip; Auger, insulated pop up tent, flasher, fishing poles (caught some flak on the ones we bought but that’s another story and was all in good fun). Upon showing up Mike was just a great dude. He answered all of the questions we had, from jigging style, rig set up, how to read a flasher, how to locate fish, and the list goes on. As a “non-guided” trip, we didn’t know how much information or how many tips we would get as far as location, depth, etc. Mike led us in the right direction and first thing the next morning and three holes later, we had marked our first fish. Even though we had some battery issues with the auger and flasher, we still managed to land 6 Lakers and had an awesome day. Upon returning the equipment the next day, Mike wanted to make it right on our next trip out. The customer service at this shop is top notch and I would give them 10 stars if it was allowed. If you are ever in the area and want to take part in any sort of fishing, I highly recommend visiting Granby Bait and Tackle. We will definitely be back.

Amazing local fishing shop! Couldn't have done anything better! It is the only place for miles that will rent you spinner poles for a day. My buddy and I went there nice and early and got 2 poles. It's a cute little shop the owners are very friendly and very knowledgeable. We walked in with no fishing gear and no knowledge of fishing in the area and the gentleman there was very happy to help us amateur fishermen out! He showed us the best spots on the map and even showed us what lures to use! It was a very reasonable price. $15 for a pole for the day and they where super lenient on when to return them. I got the feeling like they really just wanted us to enjoy fishing rather than try and scam us out of money. We also got our fishing licenses for the day there! It was quick easy and fun! Overall would give it more than 5 stars if I could! We will definitely be returning next chance we get to hopefully go on a fly fishing tour!!!

Mike and his wife run a great shop. They are both very friendly and genuinely care about theirCustomers. I had visited in the late fall before going out laker hunting and Mike was more than happy to help us find success even without booking a guided trip. I am visiting again here early this year and look forward to getting some info on how the bite is going!

We came to Ganby and rented a boat with no fishing equipment. Stopped by the shop to rent some poles so we can fish while out there. Mike was Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and the lake. We are amateurs at fishing for sure. He gave us some great tips. We showed up 10 mins after closing time but he didn’t care he still helped us and took his time with us.

Mike was excellent for a guided fishing experience! He took us out on the water and knew where to go. He was prepared and had all of the tackle equipment needed. His boat was well equipped and he worked tirelessly to make sure you caught fish. He was very customer service oriented, patient, and had a great temperament with kids! Highly recommend!!

From the moment I pulled up to Mike's shop I knew I was in good hands when there was a sweet yellow lab waiting at the front door to greet me! Mike was immediately super personable and most importantly knowledgeable about what gear I needed for an afternoon of lake fishing. This is by far the best shop in Granby. Mike and his bait shop are a great resource for the surrounding area. Mike is a great guy and always willing to help me with any information on the fish I am targeting. He is always willing to guide me in the right direction unlike many other Colorado shops. His shop is full of lures and gear that will actually catch fish in the area. This is the shop that this area needed. I strongly recommend this shop to anyone looking for some useful gear and tips.

Been stopping in mikes shop since he opened. He always has good bait and is up on where the bite is happening. He's always willing to share information and get you going in the right direction. I've had the opportunity to fish from his boat a few years ago. He knows how to get on the fish. Last time I was in the store he recommended a certain color jig to me. When I went to get it we realized they were sold out. Mike gave me some from his personal tackle box. Great place to stop by.

Came into town with extended family. My nephews wanted to go fish and since I didn't have my gear I stopped by to get some tackle and help on where to take the boys to get into some fish. They were really nice! Told me the best places to take them to make sure they had fun and hooked into fish. They recommended some various baits and rigs and got us all set up. Really appreciated their helpfulness! Great shop!

Cool shop, only one for miles that had all the trout spinners i was looking for. Both employees/owners i talked to pointed me in the direction of places where I ended up catching fish. My birthday fishing trip wouldnt have been the same if they hadnt put me on some fish.

I am across the U.S. on a road trip attempting to trout fish and not as successful as I was hoping. I stopped in this shop and the gentleman was very helpful in telling me some new techniques such as using more than one fly on my line (something I haven't tried yet) and showing me good flies to use for this area and time of year. He told me some good places which I am going to try now, and very hopeful! And to top it all off, I was embarrassed as we were checking out not having enough cash with me, and he was so nice, he gave me the rest of my flies on him and wished me good luck on my trip!! A great shop with a kind and helpful owner! If I was in the area I would definitely be back.

Took a group of 7 on a charter trip for lake trout. Caught some beauties, and Mike even taught a few of us personally how to clean them. Mike is very knowledgeable and well-equipped, with a great sense of humor.

Extremely friendly and helpful. They're open early which makes for a convenient stop before heading to the water. Was even able to pick up some new Bio Baits which aren't available at other tackle shops/outdoor stores. Will definitely make time to stop by anytime I'm up near Granby.

My family, friends and I went up to the three lakes ice fishing tournament, we stopped in to get signed up. While we were in bait N tackle we got to talking with the owners and absolutely had a great time talking with them, they helped us out with some tub jigs that were working and some other supply's. We ended up catching lots of fish on those jigs throughout the weeekend. They are very nice people, they sell you what you need and only of you need it, they are very knowledgeable and the place is organized and clean. We will continue to come back to bait N tackle every year.
