This resort is nestled away in the mountains south of Grand Junction, CO. It was a quiet, peaceful and extremely enjoyable weekend. The rooms are spacious and feature filled with majestic views available out every window. They got a new Chef this year and he is a miracle worker in the kitchen, everything our party ordered was sublime and they kept going back for more. The service from the staff was exceptional as well, most pointedly Matt from the Restaurant. If you're looking for a place to get away, recharge and enjoy nature and wildlife while retaining some of those luxury creature comforts, this is the place you want to go!

My husband and I retreated to Gateway after busy work season, and fell in love with the resort and its environment. We are usually campers, but it was darn easy to enjoy the resort lifestyle thanks to the service of the Gateway Canyons team. The food at Entrada was 100% spectacular, creative and delicious. We finally got to take our bikes out for our first mountain bike ride on the trails and highly recommend Vista Grande for beginners! Even though the spa was closed (supposed to open April 2024), I had a wonderful experience with spa therapist Jessie. And saving the best for the last, the front desk manager, Lindsey, was extremely helpful and understanding (this was our first stay at a resort!) and provided us so many tips and resources to make the most of our stay. Thank you so so much!!!

This place is truly exquisite. Our work rented the resort for a conference. The rooms were spacious and clean, and even turndown service. The resort is very remote, 90 minutes from the Grand Junction airport, and embedded amongst the canyons on all sides. It's the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. From hiking trails to horseback riding, there are tons of amenities and activities managed on site. Service was outstanding in all aspects of the venue (from our catered dinners to the housekeeping). Everyone in our group was so happy.

Beautiful place to visit. There are so many things to do, like walking the trails, utv rides, bike rides, and Jeep rides, just to name a few. The views of the canyons are amazing and worth the trip by itself. Staff was very helpful when needed. The food was decent. Rooms were clean and very nice. The only thing I have a minor problem with is that some plants around the grounds and in the back of patios were overgrown and with spider webs. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this awesome resort.

Could be an incredible location, but stayed between buyers and it was kind of miserable. The rooms were great, nicely appointed and comfortable. Auto Museum sold all the cars and closed a couple of weeks before we stayed. Staff had zero concern for guests (all twelve of us in the entire resort). Pool bar closed early with a crowd of paying customers, took 90mins to get someone back out with a menu from the wrong restaurant. Appetizer food was good, but overpriced for what it was. Power went out shortly after that for several hours which meant no restaurant, no AC, and no hot tubs. Hotel made no consideration or mention of this except for a compulsory half-hearted apology upon checkout. Room was pricey even for midweek, especially considering that it's an hour from *any*thing. It was quiet, I'll give it that, but unless they cut the rates by 50%, it's not really worth the drive.Walkability: Zero walkability, there is nothing around that wouldn't take you a week to walk to.

Maybe the most beautiful place I have been to in Colorado. It’s a shame that it’s so hard to get to. The hotel is a gem that I think has been forgotten between buyers. Such a lovely hotel that I hope gets some better treatment. The good:Gorgeous Location with walking trails and high adventure activities. Some of the best mesa views I have seen in Colorado.Good food with wonderful staffNeatly designed rooms with some of them having private patios and porches.Really awesome car museum.Room had a really good shower and bath tub.The Bad:Location is about an hour outside of grand junctionOutside of a very tiny convenience store with very limited items the only food places are on the resort. The Really Bad/Impending Doom:While the pictures show pools and hot tubs. Only one pool is open and the other two have been shut down for a few months and filled with algae. The hot tubs are part of those pools, so no hot tubs. Talking with the staff it seems like no effort has been made to bring these back online.Spa Caught Fire? No spa. Might come back as there are contractors working on it.Rooms all have a small portable air conditioner. I am guessing as the hotel’s main HVAC is not working well. This air conditioner woke me up every 3 hours to empty its drip pan.Auto Museum may be going away. I heard mumblings about all the cars going to auction in August. In short it was a beautiful drive to get there. But once there it felt like the hotel was quietly disappearing. I hope it gets purchased by someone who recognizes it worth and beauty.

Incredible resort with the most breathtaking views. Splurge for the casitas, they are amazing and make you feel like you’re at home but with amazing backdrop of beautiful Gateway Mesas and rock formations. This is my 3rd time back and every time the place still amazes me. The grounds are beautifully manicured with trees, flowers. Food is delicious - we ate at Paradox. Will be back for future vacations. Worth the trek out here. It’s a piece of heaven outdoors. Pool was wonderful, Jung out for most of the day relaxing with beautiful backdrop. Spa was fabulous as well.

We had reservations for 2 nights but ended up leaving after one- As Car enthusiasts we wanted to see Car Museum, when we made reservation it was featured on their web page , when we got there it had been closed for a week. Food was iffy and we had to practically beg for a reservation to Entrada and were told it was closed for next two nights leaving the only place to eat at the small Grille. After spending a night in a reasonable comfortable room except for the poor a/c we decided to leave as the vibe was so poor. Upon checking out we paid our $82 "resort fee" under protest and asked why we were paying this fee when many activities such as the Car Museum were not even available, the response was "it is the way it is". This is a beautiful resort in decline, lots of deferred maintenance, a worn out staff with no leadership who has lost their mission

September 2023After reading the decidedly mixed Google reviews for this hotel we weren’t sure what we were getting into. Our stay was fabulous. This hotel is in a stunning off-the-beaten track location surrounded by beautiful sandstone cliffs dominated by the Palisades. The drive into and out of the hotel is beautiful. While at the hotel we did their 5 mile Entrada hike (AllTrails). The adventure center loaned us a driving tour pamphlet and we explored local petroglyphs and the hanging flume. We especially enjoyed hanging out on our patio looking up at the Palisades. To respond to some of our concerns from reading the reviews:The staff were very friendly and the service was great. The bed was very comfortable. The car museum is permanently closed. All the pools are functioning. There were no problems with the AC.The hotel is for sale but seemed well managed. The food was fine, particularly the boar tacos and salmon at the Palisades restaurant. We didn’t eat at Entrada.A great place to get away from it all. Do it!!

I don't usually write reviews but this place deserves a shout out. We stayed at Gateway for 3 nights and it was absolutely magical. We did the ATV tour, Archery Classes and visited the Palisade Ranch where we toured the grounds and had a wonderful time chatting with Slow Hands. I do not have enough words to describe how awe-inspiring this place is. Every morning, we woke to the most beautiful view from our patio. We would have a stroll through beautifully landscaped grounds to the restaurant for some hot coffee, eggs and pancakes. The rest of the morning was planning our activities. After a long day of sightseeing and hiking, we would soothe our sore muscles by the beautiful pool or the jetted hot spa. Finally, around 8pm we would meander to whatever restaurant we felt like eating that night and have a wonderful meal under the stars. Before bed, I would take a hot cup of tea and a good book and sit by the fire until I couldn't stay awake any longer. This place was truly magical. I left feeling recharged, and can't wait to come back.

Day 1 of 5, staff lied to us about room availability. We reserved. in writing 2nd floor. Got here, nope. Room we have nice no view. What we paid for. Patio furniture was broken and dirty. Day 2 we reviewed and printed reservation details, and they honored room. It's still a hassle to move. Day 5, the place is shutting down for winter. Plan accordingly if you come here. Food service gets limited. Overall, nice place and location. Road over to Moab is awsome. Do it.

STUNNING views. I’ve never been so relaxed and enjoyed a vacation so much! Definitely off the beaten path (a good hour drive to anything aside from a very small general store) but so much to do. Our casita had the most gorgeous view of The Palisade and was so cozy we felt like we were in a dream. Everyone on staff—housekeeping, food/bar service, adventure guides—were extremely nice and helpful. We ate at the Paradox Grille multiple times and it was all delicious and the drinks were great. I HIGHLY recommend doing a UTV tour and renting some mountain bikes! Definitely will be back.

I really appreciated the fact that while visiting I could be as active or as restful as I choose to be. There are a wide selection of activities available from horseback riding, helicopter tour, atv rentals, rzr rentals, bike rentals, to taking a off day and just lounging by either of the 2 pools. Or, really being lazy and ordering room service and hanging out in your room and recuperating. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. There are several dining choices, from a personal curated meal with a menu pre arranged with an on site chef, to grabbing a delicious hot dog by the pool. I'd highly recommend taking a day trip to Moab, UT. It's a 2 hour drive, and the Arches National Park is a wonder to behold. Reservations are required, but it's very easy via an online system with a 2 dollar fee. All the activities I mentioned can be tailored from novice to expert, with help from very knowledgeable on site staff. If you're a car buff, the on site car museum is very impressive. You could get through in under an hour, or spend as long as you'd like admiring each of their examples of automobiles from practically every era. It was not crowded and I found I could wander around in my order and at my own pace. The spa offers massage, which I'd consider a necessity if you opt for "active" during your stay. Again the professional masseurs will accommodate your needs and are excellent at their jobs. All in all,I had a wonderful stay in that the resort didn't let down, the local scenery offered breath taking vista's, I enjoyed all of my meals, and the rooms were quite clean and spacious. This was a wonderful trip that exceeded my expectations from all points of view.

This resort is in an amazing location, surrounded by Red Rock formations and every road leading there is scenic and an awesome ride or drive. The auto museum on site is amazing. It sounds like they may have permanently closed it, but if they reopen, definitely take a visit. Full video review here https://youtu.be/J9dt_qWGLgo?si=2rx4yolbZ0KrW5UD

Excellent visit and it isn’t even over yet! We got here early not anticipating an early check in, but our room was ready and we were able to begin enjoying our stay earlier. Made our way to the auto museum then hot tub. Both were fantastic. Then spent time on the patio and ate dinner at paradox, just to be surprised by turndown chocolates for our room upon return. We only live a few hours away in South West Colorado and will definitely be back to this oasis. The staff were all fantastic, keep doing what your doing and providing the level of service you do, it does not go unseen. Thank you!

This place is AMAZING. I had a wonderful time and was impressed with the staff, quality of service, food, scenery and amenities. We came back to the room and the cleaners had made a flower display complete with towels in the shape of swans. The cookies in the lobby were a special touch. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay above and beyond. Katie and Sydney both did an amazing job. I can’t wait to come back!

Overall, I would say it was a great experience! Two downsides are that there were quite a few wasp nests in our patio area and that some food selections seemed to not be available while we were there. With that being said, even though we didn’t always get the food we wanted, the food we got was very delicious. Highly recommend the salmon burger if it’s available. The staff was very friendly, the location was absolutely stunning and perfect to take our dogs for their daily walks. Our room was really nice, very spacious and of course having our own personal hot tub was really nice.If you are looking for a quiet and secluded place for a relaxing getaway, then this is the perfect place to go!

Beautiful resort In spectacular settings. It was rainy (rare and not their fault). Lots of walks around the property and access to BLM. Shortcut to Moab is slick in the rain, but well maintained otherwise. Tesla charging stations that will accommodate other EVs with an adapter (available online). Food was good, but not great. We were there very early in the season (March) and I think they were still working out the menu. Nevertheless, its all that’s available for miles around, so it works. Staff was friendly and helpful.Update: huge “resort fee” of 18%. Half the items listed weren’t available such as pool closed, one of the restaurants closed, no hammocks, activities limited. Just beware of extra costs.

I was very pleased to find someone who could help us with a private dinner for our wedding anniversary. The service we received was first class – and the thought and attention beforehand was amazing. My husband and I spent a relaxing 5 days here. Like other reviewers noted, there isn’t much around so be sure to bring snacks! We enjoyed the relative seclusion, which was just what we wanted for a restful getaway. The scenery and grounds are truly picturesque. You can tell they spend a lot of time and maintenance on the grounds. The food was pretty good as well as the service we received there. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options available, as well as room service. We had a few minor foibles, including the AC not working as well as we had hoped, but the staff tried their best to fix the problem. The resort fee is rather pricey on top of what you’re already paying, and doesn’t include as much as it could. With a few minor adjustments this could easily become a five-star review. Overall, it was a great stay!

Car collection is awesome but dont come is you have an rv of any size. The road through the resort is tiny wide. With perpendicular parking. Some vehicles sticking out into the road could make it impassable. Then finding the event center where they have rv parking. We missed the turn. Being a slow day they let us take uo3 a few spots after making a tight turn around. There are no rv campgrounds within 50 miles, unless you want to boondock on public land. Sone of the cars were out of the collection when we went and others had been moved around so they gave us half off admission...$8. The meticulous attention to detail caught my eye, right off. The memories that flooded back of the 50s and 60s was astonishing. Have a great time at the car museum...just fair rv warning.

Room was 1-2 stars. One bed squeaked so loud it impaired my sleep. Patio door handle was on a table. Most overpriced room I have ever seen. PET FRIENDLY???? We had our cat with us. He has never been outside and never had any fleas etc. 4 days in ROOM 128 and he was infested with fleas. How are infested rooms people or pet friendly??? We are still paying for our stay thru flea meds. etc... Sad, very sad...Noteworthy details: SEE ABOVE!!!!
