I had a good experience here. I found the staff to be really helpful. I got some carnivorous plants and some aquarium plants, I got a frog, and my daughter got a feeder rat that she intended to keep as a pet. Sure it smells a little funky but you when you walk in. There's like 60 fish tanks full of fish and a large pond.. so.. really no way to make that smell like a bed of roses. I did feel like some of the prices were really high. Like they had these really cool chameleons but they were like $500 each. Although in fairness I have no idea how much it costs them to get animals, so it seems high but it might be fair. I do hate seeing dogs in pet stores because puppies need to run and play, I know there's a lot of accusations that these came from Mills but I have no idea if that's true or not. They could have come from local breeders, I don't know. But aside from that I thought the store was tidy and there was definitely a lot of cool stuff to see there. The staff was very kind and helpful to us and more than happy to take out things and show them to us and share their expertise on a wide variety of things that we saw there.

This place was Absolutely sickening. The puppies all come from puppy mills and are extremely over priced (3.5k) Not to mention that the puppies have no food nor water in their small enclosure. The frenchies when walking up to them seem like they have been abused- they flinched just by me standing by the window to look at them. It was devastating to see. As I looked around the store, I seen approx. 10 chameleons in one small tank together. For this being my first time coming here-I am sick about this place. Like other posts say: PLEASE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN. do not shop here!

The COOLEST pet store in Colorado! Literally! Valley Pets has so many pets to choose from and a great selections of live food, packaged food and fancy food i would even consider eating. I really like the workers chill vibe. The employees at the Chapel Hills mall act like you just asked them to do a million things before you even asked where something is or ask to pet a dog. We are hoping to buy a snake with the awesome snake sales going on!

The store is clean and well kept. Selection is wide and varied. Feeder insects were far too expensive for my budget so will have to look elsewhere. Many of the animals for sale also seemed a bit overpriced. But they had clean cages and looked healthy.

these guys definitely know thier animals/ reptiles. this store has items that others don't. tons and tons of amazing reptiles and fish and some 🐕 dogs. I go mainly for meal worms and crickets for Baby Dragon!

This place was a HUGE disappointment. I went into Valley Pets thinking that it was a pet supply retail store but very quickly i realized that it was a pet store. A poorly ran pet store. You walk into this place immediately accompanied by a turtle that was either dead or very noticeably injured or ill with the overwhelming smell of pet feces. As you walk directly back you will see very poorly taken care of puppy’s priced at extremely high prices ($3,000 and up) with no food or water in their inclosure. They also look malnourished and abused and extremely inbred. Not to mention the broken windows and the heat being upwards of 65-70 degrees with no ventilation throughout the entire building. It was so warm in this building the bunnies were panting. Not to mention the fish were kept in nets. If I could give the store a 0 star review i absolutely would. HOW IS THIS DUMP STILL OPEN? The neglect and animal abuse in this establishment is disgusting and the people supporting it as well as the workers are filthy people. How would you like to be locked in cages with no food or water in a 70 degree building with the smell of animal remains and feces? SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!

Fish looked healthy but I could not get help. I understand people get busy but when you approach an employee and say I know what I want and they go OK and walk away and you wait another 20 minutes and no one even approach you after being in the store for 40 minutes you just give up and walk out.

The fish keepers are knowledgeable if you are into fish keeping. Great selection of tropical freshwater fish.I am updating this review because this place is getting better. The fish room has grown so much. The fish selection is great for what some would consider a small store. The aquascaping materials have increased as well. So many different kids of rocks and driftwood. I purchased the manzanita wood and dragon stone that I use in my aquariums from here. I purchased the majority of my fish from here as well. I recently bought a nice red male Betta and he is enjoying his new tank. I haven't gotten any aquarium plants here, I'm assuming that I usually visit when stock is low. Not sure if they buy/trade plants from aquarium hobbyist, because i have a small carpet of java moss in a plant overflow tank and my other plants propagate like crazy.

These guys are always great. Their tanks always look super clean and they have a great selection of food and other accessories for your tank. I found the price of a skimmer to be lower online than what they had marked and the owner was kind enough to price match me as best as they could afford. I appreciate that since I would 100% always prefer to give my money to a local business.

My experience at valley pets was amazing...the employee Valarie did a great job on assisting me with my new bioactive aquarium for my frogs... give her a raise...I LOVE VALLEY PETS!!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Because I got a feeder rat and it was Infested with mites and parasites. And I saw a pet lizard with its leg eaten oof by his tank mates. And its so obvious that they get their puppy's from a puppy mill .And all the fish I got there were super sick . So overall, they're pets or not taken care of right .

I got my pasel Ball Python here. All of their animals are healthy and fat. Most of their employees are nice and they're all knowledgable. I highly recommend this family owned and operated business.The only thing I would not recommend is having them sexed here. They "pop" the snakes and I prefer a less aggresive way to tell.They NEVER run out of most mice and rat sizes (unlike scales and tails who ran out every time I came in).

Amazing selection of Pet Rats! They have hairless rats, Rex rats, blue hooded rats, albino rats, Apricot hooded rats, curly hair rats, black rats, and more. I always get my pet rats from Valley Pets! The prices are a bit high, but usually I’ll buy from Valley Pets regardless due to the huge selection of pet rats available. They have other animals such as feeder worms, fish, tarantulas, mice, lizards, and more. Animals are a lot healthier than Scales N Tales based on what family members have said. Great store, kind staff. Amazing place!

Went there today with my girlfriend and her son, Staff is very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful, The one guy that took care of us really made us feel comfortable, This is definitely the place to go if you are a reptile lover / Exotic fishes. they have the most affordable live feeders in town as well. We ended up getting some horn worms and cricket. My partner's son is already begging to go back there and honestly I can't wait neither!

Wow..... I walked in for dog food and was met with the fact that this is a pet store not a feed store. Then I found the puppies in the back..... This is awful! These dogs are being sold at a premium and held in tiny cages with no food or water. This is atrocious!

WOW me and my daughter really love this pet store. We have been there many times since moving here 2 years ago but almost daily this week because my daughter kept needing something for her new pea puffer fish. All the fish we have gotten have been healthy and happy. All the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They take the time to answer all our million questions and give me great advice. Try Valley Pets for your pet needs you won't be sorry.

Completely blown off when asking about some of the frogs and reptiles in the store. When asking questions staff didn’t want to seem to assist or share knowledge in taking care of the frogs I was asking about staff seemed quick to dismiss and get back to what they were doing. A lot of animals that should be kept alone we’re stored together. The puppy’s in the back looked skinny underfed and we’re priced externally high. They could have sold a reptile or today but instead I took my business elsewhere. If you don’t have the patients to educate someone purchasing a pet maybe your in the wrong field.

I go here every week for all my supplies. They still have the pop shop feel. But carry a wide variety of quality supplies and pets. Friendly engaged staff. Reasonable prices. Has the support and loyalty of our community

Went in today looking for a brush to help with my dogs shedding. It was refreshing to go into a store where staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The prices were the same as I was finding online at Amazon and Walmart but way better experience. I will be shopping here from now on. Thank you guys for the EXCELLENT customer service!

They are always so nice when I lost my rat to feed my snake I went to get another one and they gave me it for free I love them.
