If this place was anywhere else it would get 3 stars. Not horrible not great. Beds were comfortable but this place needs some work. Showerhead made a horrible noise. Things broken in the bathroom, nothing major just makes it look unkempt. Used bandaid on the floor and a pair of socks left by previous guest, those are bigger issues. Rushed cleaning is never a good thing.Basically it comes down to good location, good price and nice staff. If you are okay with this you'll be fine. We ourselves would still stay again knowing these things.

What a gem of a place! My husband stayed here last year and raved about it, so it was a no-brainer when we were coming through in bad weather to stop here. The rooms are super cute, clean, have comfortable beds, and pretty views. The service was impeccable, even when we needed to stay a second night unplanned, and notified just 30 minutes prior to check out time.And they are pet friendly, with very reasonable fees. They even have a cute dog yard with toys, pick up equipment etc.Well definitely be back when we travel through.

Our family recently stayed here because we had a funeral t ok attend nearby and there was no where else to stay. The rooms were ok, not great, but ok. The thing that makes this place shine is the customer service! We interacted with Kathy who was extremely friendly, kind and always available for anything we needed. She even allowed our kids to help water plants. Customer service makes all the difference and The Lodge has it in spades. Thank you!

Such a wonderful place to stay!! I was able to reserve a room two hours before they closed and the owners were able to move things around so I could have a non-smoking room. Such an affordable price too! The owners were incredibly nice plus they were informative about things to do in the surrounding area; we ended up talking for 45 min just for fun. They honored First Responders which was awesome. The Lodge itself was quite quaint; the beds were comfortable and the bathroom seemed extra warm which was perfect for the cold season. I would have loved to have stayed another night but our plans took us elsewhere. If I'm back in the area then I am definitely booking again!!

Stopped by on our way from Santa Fe to Denver during a snow storm. Room was great, great pricing. But the biggest thing was how absolutely lovely the staff was, they made us feel incredibly safe and welcomed. 10/10 recommend :)

We have stayed here for many years and this was the best management since Judy purchased the hotel years ago. I hope this manager stays on. Her and her family were excellent when the heat amd hot water went out as with everything else. They brought us heaters to use in case the plumber couldn’t get it fixed but thankfully it was back online that evening.

It’s a small, cozy, drive to your room, pet friendly, family run motel.Jeremy and his Wife Shannon are awesome! Run the place themselves…The beds are super comfy. Clean rooms. Price is really reasonable. Super friendly folks.Who cares if the hosts of a Mom n Pop motel come out in jam jams,11:30 at night in a small town rural motel to check you in. Who cares if ya gotta switch rooms.Nasty reviews… over petty grievances are unkind, unproductive and damaging.Save it for a Hyatt or Hilton or your servers on the yacht…GOOD GRIEF! Really?Me n Ziggy (my pooch) love this place…HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This was by far my favorite experience of staying at a lodge/motel. The staff was extremely friendly and super accommodating. We had just drive 18+ hours and called ahead and luckily got the last room for the night. I can see why this place is so popular! It had a great view and the resources are incredible. We had two dogs with us and they had a perfect fenced in “dog park” along with a grill and fire pit we were sad we didn’t have time to use. We would love to come back and highly recommend! Such a cozy feeling and perfect for getting the small town experience.

David, the manager was awesome. My room was very nice and a great size bed and bathroom.There was even a Dog Park. I really appreciated having that convenience. I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone coming through Ft. Garland, CO. I will chose it again on my next trip from Texas.

We were visiting friends in Ft Garland and chose The Lodge because of it's good reviews. We had a great stay. The rooms are large and very clean. The rooms are unique and not the typical cookie cutter motel room. They have a dorm size refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot in each room. The managers are new and live on-site. They were excellent and very accommodating. They made our stay very comfortable. She even left lollipops for our kids each day. We will stay here again.

Great friendly place! It is a dated but certainly not a bad place to stay! We will stay here again! A few reviews show this place as a dump but honestly it’s just a bit older. It’s well taken care of and the staff are great.Pros:Amazing viewGood air conditionerVery clean beds and bathroomFridgeQuietLocationPriced wellWonderful staff!Cons:Older doors and locks (work well but a bit of wiggling to get them to lock)Gravel lotProbably would normally give a 4 star but there were tons of reviews that were 1 star based on the fact this was not a super polished hotel. The staff here are awesome. We got in around 10 at night, but we called ahead about it, and they were willing to work with us and get us our key when we came. They were very helpful and kind. A small breakfast of pastries plus hot chocolate, coffee, and tea are all provided. My major problem was that I had with this motel was that I found hair and crumbs on the blankets on my bed when I first got in. Finding out that my bad wasn't very clean kind of ruined the experience for me.

Until the current manager of this establishment is removed I will not recommend. Very rude and has zero customer service skills. It's amazing how full grown adults still think they can bully other adults with no recourse. We drove 23 hours to stay at the lodge only to be greeted by a grumpy bully in pajamas. I will never stay at the Lodge and I pray for the owner that she sees the light cause if he's treating us this way, there are others that aren't speaking out. It will catch up with you, please keep an eye on your bad apples. I wish you well!

Reserved weeks ahead of time by phone (their method of reservation) and arrived around 8:30pm for check in. As we were trying to open the door to our assigned room, we noticed there was someone else inside. (It had been assigned to someone else). Manager offered to check the last available room which was a smoking room (we reserved non-smoking). However, it had not been cleaned after the last use (still had trash and beds were unmade) and it smelled a lot like smoke. Manager offered to clean that room for us then or refund our money. So at 9pm, we drove to another inn down the road and we were lucky to get the last room.The manager was nice and polite. However, it was a huge mistake and displeasing to have to find lodging elsewhere at night (or have to wait for a smoking room to be cleaned) when we had reserved in advance.

Great hospitality. Excellent price for offseason, pet friendly. Very clean,and room for the hounds. Toking area provide Rated 5 paws.They grow the best grass in Colorado, ..... for the dog yard. We had to come back a second time on our way back. Can't wait to return. Thank you.

What a great business in Fort Garland. We called ahead to reserve a room just a night or two before our stay, and we were lucky to get one. Everything else was filled.What a great surprise also! These aren't the fanciest rooms you'll find, but they're decorated nicely, clean, and have everything you'll need for a short stay. We pulled in at 11:30 PM or so, and thanks to our hosts, were ready to just unpack and crash into bed with our kids & dog.Perfect for the right occasion, this drive in motel was good for a short family vacation-style stay.

Not spectacular but this review is based on Colorado prices. Shower has adequate amount of hot water, at least in late May... coffee maker works well. Beds decent. TV has an abundance of channels. Seriously for this price what do you want? Log cabin-like interior is fitting and the outside views cannot be beaten.

The staff is amazing and the rooms are clean!!! Will stay again soon, and reccomend to visiting friends and family. Rooms sell out quickly so I reccomend a reservation. I'm updating my review to add the amenities: dog park, outdoor fire pit, horseshoes, and a BBQ grill with patio area! You won't find a better stay in the SLV.
