Do NOT book grooming with Grace E. - She completely ripped my poor baby’s nail clean out down to the nail bed and had to be sent to the vet there in an emergency mid-appt. Showed no remorse and no one there was helpful or kind, all staff shrugged their shoulders at me. There should be repercussions for this - my dog is in pain and prescribed medication for the next 2 weeks because of this not to mention the hack job that they did on her. Angry and disappointed is a gross understatement.

Made an appointment on line and showed up on time only to be told that our dog couldn’t be left with them because of her being on slow kill heart worm treatment. Rosie was a rescue from Louisiana and has been on heart worm treatment for over 6 months. She is fully vaccinated and well behaved. The manager at the grooming station said that since heart worms “are highly contagious” she couldn’t be groomed there. Honestly…no one greeted us with any enthusiasm or seemed happy we were there. It felt like the heart worm situation was more of an excuse to get rid of us. Nothing on line in the registration form cautioned us about denying services for dogs under heart worm treatment. Our vet said heart worms are not contagious to other dogs since they are transmitted through mosquitoes. If you want a professional groomer don’t come to Pet Smart in Fort Collins. After being horribly treated by the staff at PetCo in Cheyenne, we drove 45 miles to the PetSmart in Fort Collins. The customer service was excellent, after a quick call due to the time of day, they were expecting me and waited for me very close to if not past closing to help me with a pet situation. I would have gone to the store in Frontier Mall but the mall had closed for the day. The Fort Collins PetSmart went above and beyond, and if I can't shop local, I will be making the 45 mile drive to shop there again.

This place is almost always in stock with what I need. The one time it wasn't, not even Amazon had what I was looking for. The staff are always helpful and super friendly and the fact that they have a pet hospital, groomers, pet hotel and adoption center all in one place is amazing. If that doesn't convince you, they even partner with animal friends alliance to bring adoption events to the store. Their return policy is also very pet friendly, especially for picky or allergy ridden pets.

The cashier rarely said a word to me and when I paid for my dogs grooming using cash she pulled out her little flash light and pen to scratch on the bills and make sure "they're legit". What a shame I have been coming here for years but I guess you're always a suspect if you're not white. I just find it offensive to be honest.

Wonderful selection! It took Bowie 20 min to pick out her new toy but boy does she love it! Friendly staff and good prices.Update 9/23....we have adopted Raven from Animal Friend Alliance who partners with Petsmart. Thank you so much for helping with our adoption. Raven is a great addition to our family & we bring her to Petsmart frequently. Only adopt and always spay or neuter.

Caye and Nicole demonstrated the utmost in professionalism during a recent visit to the Grooming Salon at the FoCo PetSmart on S. College.My pet, who has been to groomers for over 10 years, may have been recently traumatized at an out of state grooming facility and was not acting as he normally does.I took him in to PetSmart and after discussing with Caye & Nicole what was going on, Caye had a couple of suggestions to begin to regain his trust.Caye warned me that if he began to show signs of distress or anxiety, I may be called back to pick him up and the grooming may not proceed as planned.I waited at the store for a while just in case, but everything was going smoothly. Nicole was being patient with him and he was behaving as he normally does.When I went back later after a couple of hours, he was back to his normal self and I couldn't have been happier with him and, just as importantly, with Nicole for her patience and professionalism and with Caye for her professionalism and ability to recognize what needed to be done in this case. Thank you Caye & Nicole.

I do like Pet Smart. The people are always very nice and helpful, however, I took one star away due to the prices. I think they are higher than they should be. You can get the same, if not similar items at smaller stores, for a lower price. I am not a fan of big box stores jacking up prices. I took another star away for the fact that there selection tends to fall short on the more specific things I search for. However, that is a personal preference. They do have a large selection of good quality items.

I took my two goldendoodles into the salon today for a haircut. I asked that they keep their heads shaped the way it was when we went in, just take a little length off it.They gave me back Labs! My dogs no longer look like doodles. I’m extremely upset! I’m attaching pictures of before and after - please don’t make them same mistake I did in using this salon!

Decent variety of products except I find the fish items are often sold out when I really need them. And they desperately need a self-checkout line. Every time I shop here, the line is 5 people long or more. Most people are getting one or two things so a self-checkout lane would help immensely as they obviously only want to employ one full-time checker.

I took my sweet lab in for a quick nail trim and grind at this Pet Smart. I told the lady at the front desk, Madyson, that he does fine with getting his nails trimmed, but he has never had his nails grinded before. She told me that was fine and to just give her a few minutes. I shopped around the store for a bit and came back to see if they were almost finished. When I walked in, a different woman by the name of Kay was the one actually trimming my dog’s nails. Her back was to me and I heard her yell at my dog multiple times telling him to “Quit” “Shut up” and “Stop it” because he was crying. He was in NO WAY biting at or growling at the groomer. He was only whimpering. I also watched her yank his legs multiple times while attempting to cut his nails. I believe Madyson saw me watching them and whispered something to Kay, because Kay looked up and saw me and started using kinder verbiage to address my dog. Not to mention, my dog LOVES the groomer and is always tail-wagging when I pick him up from other groomers in the past. When they brought him to me this time, he was scurrying and rushing to get out the door.I called and asked to be transferred to the grooming lead who apologized for the experience and said “she would talk to the groomer about it.” I had to ask for the groomer’s name SEVERAL times before the lead on the phone was willing to give it to me. For your dogs’ sake, please do not bring them to this PetSmart where they will most likely be mistreated when they are alone with staff. I will never be trusting them with my baby again.

They will cancel your grooming appointment for zero reason only days before. This should be done with a phone call and an attempt to reschedule. Also the haircuts are too expensive to deal with this level of unprofessionalism.

This review is specifically for Derrick on the grooming staff. We’ve been going to Petsmart Grooming for years in the various places we’ve lived. Derrick is by far the best groomer we’ve had. He is always so kind and gentle with our 14 and 15 year old mini poodles. They always look fantastic and they aren’t nearly as anxious or nervous about going. Derrick is the best!!

The Fort Collins PetSmart never disappoints. We've been using their products and services for many years now, including doggie pedicures. This time we needed a new dog bowl. Found the perfect product. Melamine for no stains and easy cleaning, but moreover, this one has a finger cutout at the bottom for easy handling. Pricing was very competitive. The online order/in-store pickup process worked well.

The folks who manage the Pet Hotel at this location were so great! Our kitty, in particular, can take awhile to get used to a new space, but they were so patient with him and he was at home in no time. The staff were so thorough, too, in asking questions to make sure our pets stayed comfy during their visit. I would definitely bring our pets back here.

I am very sad and disappointed to be leaving a negative review. When Julia was working here, I was very happy with the grooming services to the point I quit my old groomer to continue getting my Malamute groomed here. Since Julia has left, it has been increasingly difficult trying to call and schedule an appointment. Called 3x and got hung up on each time. I had no choice to try and book myself online. I made sure to double check it was the same service I have always received. I even called and double checked to see if the appointment was scheduled and correct 2 days before. 20 minutes into my Malamutea appointment today, I get a call that they are refusing to complete the service and to pick up her and she will need rescheduled. I speak with the manager and they say it's my fault for booking with a bather, even though I booked a bath, cut, and Furminator appointment so a person who can cut had to be available for the appointment I booked. They then tried to throw the short staff excuse with me (guess what we are all short staffed but we still have to get the job done that we are assigned and we're scheduled for). I asked to be rescheduled because it was just a bunch of excuses that weren't adding up as to why they couldn't complete the service. They promise to schedule me next day at 20% discount and then come back on the phone and say I have to wait 4 weeks. Even though it was their mess up and decision to refuse to finish, they wouldn't make it a priority and said Id have to be back at the line. I was extremely frustrated with how completely unprofessional this was and that my dog didn't get the care or the service she needed. Train your staff better and make sure you can do what you were scheduled to do. Everyone has too.
