Over the last 9 years, we have purchased 2 mini dachshunds from the AMAZING people at Pet City. Both of our dogs are HEALTHY and well-ADJUSTED. Roxy will be 9 this year and Lilly 8 and my husband and I couldn't say enough wonderful things about Pet City and the staff! I highly recommend Pet City and its knowledgeable staff to everyone. Went in here to look for a cat but then fell in love with my little nova right away and decided to buy her in 15mins. Staff was helpful even though the store was 10mins away from closing. Brought her to the vet and everything was great. I couldn’t be happier with new doggo. They even gave me 50% off of my dog! Id go back tomorrow and grab another one if they gave me that 50% off again. When I brought her back to pick up some probiotics the staff even gave me a bunch for free! Nova was also stoked to see the employees too so they must’ve treated her very well.

Don’t support places like this while thousands of dogs in the state get put down due to lack of homes every month in the state of Colorado. Puppy mills for profit - you don’t want to see where these puppies mothers are or their conditions. Also - health concerns! If you must buy pure bread, at least get one from a reputable breeder! Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!

Great place to get a new family member. They helped my family find the right dog for us and our busy lives. Couldn’t have asked for a better staff and experience. They also made sure we were prepared with everything we needed before leaving the store with the puppy. Great prices too!

Please read this review from a heartbroken puppy owner. I have had my beautiful puppy for 4 months now. I bought her from Pet City. Since day 1, my pup has been ill. I have spent $9,000 on vet bills in 4 months. My vet told me I bought a sick puppy. She has vomited and had diarrhea every day of her life. I just researched her breeder with the paperwork Pet City gave me when I bought her. The pictures I'm posting are of my dogs paperwork and the breeder violations. My puppy was bought from a PUPPY MILL with over 200 breeding dogs and so many violations. I'm heartbroken. This place is disgusting and should be shut down! They are buying from puppy mills! Learn from me.Edit: It will not let me post the breeder paperwork showing my statement

This place is a puppy mill and buys their dogs from unethical breeders. If you are considering buying a dog, do your research first and learn about adopting, reputable breeders, and the difference between those and puppy mills. What this place does is absolutely unacceptable and cruel, most dogs from here will end up with life threatening diseases, and life long temperament issues. Do not buy a dog from here, if you do you are actively supporting and funding the idea of thousands of dogs being bred until the point where each one ends up sick and dying.

Super disappointed. Took my daughter in fully ready to purchase a puppy we had been looking at for quite a while. We walked into the store and stood in front of the cages for at least 15 minutes. Not a single employee said a word to us. We were the only customers in the store. There were at least 3 employees behind the counter. I will take my $1800 and find a dog else where. HORRIBLE customer service and a huge bummer since we were prepared to make a precious purchase.

I have my two angels because of these guys. We got them when they were just pups at their shop back in 2018 and they're now 7 years old and as healthy as can be. They provided information on where the pups came from, when their birthday is, what breed/breeds they are and had us interview every dog my husband and I were interested in. Thank you Pet City!

Went to see puppies and was not greeted by staff or anything. Rude staff that doesn’t allow you to pet puppies unless you’re there to buy one. So much for shopping around. the puppies are kept in small metal cages with metal floors and are just kept in buckets. Sad to see.

Here is a summation of why the children are giving this business 1 star reviews: they get dogs from puppy mills, you should adopt, staff was rude and/or the reviewer was passed up on the waitlist and the store/animals were dirty. The Truth: This place is 5 stars and it's so amazing that even these 1 star trolls haven't been able to mess with it!The website specifically says they use reputable breeders! The store was sparkling clean. The dogs were perfectly clean and had plenty of room. The people were caring, patient, and understanding with us. This is our first dog and we've needed some extra patience and guidance. Since they only get a couple new puppies a week we went on a waitlist. They told us specifically that you need to answer the phone when they call you on the waitlist. We were 4th on the list but we got a call because the 3 others hadn't answered. They sold us a pure Maltese puppy with papers. No issues after 9 months. We have a healthy, beautiful, good tempered Maltese. We appreciate that this store exists and how helpful they were!I would recommend this store to anyone looking for a pet store!

This place gets their dogs from puppy mills and breeders… unnecessary and immoral. Please adopt from an ethical business, there are thousands of dogs that already need homes. Please stop contributing to the overpopulation of animals just because you’re lazy and greedy.

I hope Pet city will consider bigger cages and more space for the dogs. There were 3 puppies in a small cage and there were open cages that had no dogs. It’s really depressing seeing the animals in such small cages. I asked the staff how long it takes for the dogs to be homed and they mentioned typically 3 weeks or up to 18 months. I sometimes wonder if people think to themselves how it would feel to be in such a confine space all day everyday. I would like to help in anyway that I can. If I can help fund bigger cages or even find a way that the puppies can get out of the cages during non business hours. I wouldlove to help anyway that I can. Please feel free to reach out.

Highly recommended! We got our Cavanese puppy here. Wonderful place - very clean and helpful staff. They treat you like you are their only customer! This was our first time getting a puppy and my 7-year old was super excited, wanting to hold and play with every puppy there. The staff (especially Karen, Janet and Max) were patient with us, explained the ins and outs of pet care (Karen spent nearly two hours with us - no kidding!), and got us well taken care of! When we walked in, we were a bit unsure but when we walked out, we were confident and happy that we had decided to move ahead with the puppy. It's been a couple months since then, and everything Karen told us held true. We couldn't be more satisfied with their level of service and guidance. They get their puppies from good breeders (Karen and their owner personally vet each place), the registration paperwork is all in order, and they truly care about their customers. Their attention-to-details and pride showed in every touch-point we had with them. We couldn't be happier with our decision to get our puppy from them and are thinking about going back to get a second puppy soon.

TLDR: Immediate parade of red flags upon opening the door. A puppy mill pet store. So, multiple people have brought up these same issues. Maybe you should listen? The storefront was dirty, smelly, and disorganized. Do you want people who can’t even keep a store clean taking care of your new family member “until they are sold”? Employees were sitting behind the counter and staring at me. Even the manager hardly knew anything about the puppies. Which were caged in display cases, no blankets for most, too small for all. USDA certification does not mean you’re not a puppy mill. Do your own reading. Government regulations here are very sparse.

Great pet store. I have two happy pets from this place. The staff is nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place.

I walked into Pet City and discovered all of the puppies offered for sale come from PUPPY MILLS. This information is available right on the cage cards inside the store. When I looked up the breeders on the USDA website, I found violations of unsanitary conditions, sick dogs, inadequate veterinary care, rusty cages, inadequate housing, contaminated food and water. Pet City gets their animals from breeders who leave pets outside in cages, exposed to rain and extreme temperatures. If you purchase an animal at Pet City, you support animal cruelty and suffering.

I have now purchased 2 puppies from Pet City and my dogs are great. No health issues, they're happy and adjusted well. Staff was always friendly and I would never expect them to know everything as they are not veterinarians or breeders. They are just retail employees and nothing more should be expected. Store is always clean as are the kennals. The reason for 4 stars in lieu of 5 is because the puppies are listed as specific breeds but both myself and my vet don't believe they are the breed I was told. That they are mixed with something else.

The staff are ignorant, or lying about where their puppies come from. One even told me they sell puppies from hundreds of "certified " breeders. No reputable breeder would ever sell puppies through a storefront to people they have not met and vetted. I foster a lot of dogs and a lot of puppies through our local brick and mortar shelters and the dogs that need the most help come from places like these. Every time I meet a dog who was bought from a pet store, they have a ton of behavioral issues and a lot of medical issues. Please, adopt from a rescue. Tons of puppies come through our shelters. I even have close friends who foster pregnant dogs that are dumped at the shelter and whelp and raise the puppies and then they are adopted out once they're 8 weeks old. They've been with mom for as long as mom will care for them, been actively potty trained, socialized and raised in a home. They are all fully vetted, worm free, free of illness, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and the shelter fully discloses any and all medical or behavioral issues any dog or puppy has at the time. We are very fortunate here in northern Colorado to have amazing humane societies and it makes me sick knowing that there's a puppy mill store here that's contributing to what I dedicate a huge portion of my life volunteering to fix. Please, adopt from a rescue or find a reputable breeder if you are looking to add to your family.

We had a wonderful experience with Pet City! They provided great service from the beginning to the end, and even now when we stop in. We got our pup in 2020, and have had no health or behavioral issues. They provided all documents and info from the Breeder. I highly recommend!

Very nice staff, small pet store with little food options. Also to the people who claim they only get their puppies from reliable breeders; if any breeder requires USDA inspections, they are a breeding mill. USDA inspections are only required for breeders who have a SUBSTANTIAL amount of breeding dogs. IE: A puppy mill. Don't be confused and think a USDA certification is a good thing when purchasing a animal, especially a pet. Reliable breeders will not sell to pet stores and they rarely will advertise their dogs as the list is long to purchase from them. If you want a reliable pure bred dog, get on a waiting list.

We just bought our 2nd puppy from Pet City and could not be happier. Healthy dogs (Vet approved) and the store was super friendly and very informed. They care about their puppies. Highly Recommend.

My first time buying from a pet shop.I was very skeptical.I did go into the shop several times over a week. The staff was very pleasant, and seemed to engage with the animals.I did buy a beautiful pup and couldn't be happier. Complete paperwork, everything was explained in detail. Erin and Josh were patient. I feel confident that I paid a good price,I expect to pay more for a pet at a store, but I feel she was reasonable and the prices of their supplies are great!

We drove over 50 miles to this store and were pleasantly surprised. The manger and staff helped us to find the sweetest puppy companion for us and our other puppy. The environment was kept very clean with similar standards to a hospital. The manger worked with us on a good price and our puppy has been very happy and healthy. This is in stark contrast to the store in our own city. Our other puppy that we bought from the one in our town cost twice as much and had several health issues and several vet visits before getting a clean bill of health. We are so pleased with the Pet City in Fort Collins and highly recommend this store and the manager.

If no stars were available I would. This place is deeply disturbing.Multiple puppies housed in a 2 by 4 cage with no food no water and nothing but another dog inside the tank. They don’t bring the dogs out they can’t leave this cage for 8 hours while their open and then they stay in there all night. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! they sell sick puppies from puppy mills.Their Guinea pigs have bigger houses than DOGS!!!!if you support this type of abuse then this is your one pet stop.Otherwise. Stop supporting them. These dogs would have more room at a shelter than this place!DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Had a great experience here. Bought a puppy from them about 6 months ago and he's perfectly happy and healthy. No behavioral issues or anything. They were professional and answered all my questions. A bit pricey but worth it for our perfect little guy, not to mention not having to deal with weeding out scammers from real breeders on the internet, wait lists, deposits, shipping, etc. If you have a readily accessible breeder to buy from directly, then good for you, but Pet City was great for me and my pup.

DO NOT buy any animal here, let alone a puppy. The puppies specifically are crammed into cages not nearly the acceptable size for them. They don't get enough human/other animal interactions to develop needed social skills and they most definitely don't get enough exercise. On top of that, many of the puppies in that store don't get adopted for months, and it is just plain inhumane for them to be kept in cages that small for that long.

My problem wasn’t with the immediate staff my problem was with the manager she talked to me and my friend in a completely disrespectful tone. Told us “are you planning on buying one” while looking us up and down. I really hope the manager or whoever sees this because I will never recommend this place. I thought the immediate staff was great not the manager. I also was horrified at the conditions the puppies were living in. You cannot lock up puppies in cages with no cushioning on there poor paws. I would give this zero stars. Wouldn’t recommend

Giving 2 stars ONLY because the kennels and puppies looked clean and well taken care of. Came in with our cocker spaniel as SERIOUS buyers. Staff of 4 and no one greeted us or our dog, nor offered help or information on any of the puppies. We were the only customers in the store and staff stood/sat at register the entire time. We felt as if we were bothering them just being in the store. Now reading all the terrible reviews it makes sense!

We bought a cute, sweet little Yorkshire/Bishon mix 3 years ago. He is the sweetest, smartest little dog. Pet stores are overpriced due to their overhead. I always bought puppies from private breeders, in the past. We had a good experience at Pet City. We paid cash & got a discount. We love our little guy & are happy we bought him.
