Edit: Utopia reached out and were able to get the vehicle in once more for a second look and waived diagnostic. Turns out a CV axel assembly was the cause of the clicking however again no physical (looseness) or visual impairments were found. Putting load on the wheel and turning would elicit the 'click'. I asked for replacement anyhow and happy to say the 'click' is now resolved. Thank you to the shop manager, and again Mitch, for the know-how and service, much appreciated.I'd like to rate higher as the staff was mostly friendly and the work was done quickly however the diagnostic and repair did not seem to resolve the concerns with the vehicle; clicking on the front left wheel when turning.Post diagnostic recommended repairs were replacing a bad ball joint and a worn rear hub assembly. Given a quote and was a bit taken aback by the markup on parts. This location sources the parts directly from NAPA across the way. Did feel some tension with the front office when asking about the prices. A bit of an attitude like I was asking for $ off, I was simply trying to understand the markups. I was not rude or argumentative, just asking why such a markup and always responded with "I can't give you a discount", NEVER what I asked for.Ran to NAPA to validate the direct cost:HUB - Charged: $305.11, NAPA: Highest $169BALL JOINT - Charged: $111.22, NAPA: Highest ~$50Roughly gonna be 100% or more markup on parts at this location.Kicker, if you source your own parts they will not warranty their work and the labor costs go from $160/hr to $220/hr. Unfortunate. You still get the part warranty as that was always through NAPA, "but you'd have to go through them for replacement".I DID opt for the parts/repairs as time and options were pressing.Post pickup and payment, the original issue still persists, see video below immediately after pickup. Doesn't bring much peace of mind although I was assured the CV's, tie rods or any other potential contributor to that symptom were inspected and found to be in working condition.Shout out to Mitch for being a good dude, running through the old parts and doin some teaching on current manufacturing practices. 5 stars there, sir.I did get a facetious comment interruption from the front office again when Mitch was wrapping up and asked the question "Are you going to do your own brakes/rotors?" The other's interjection, "Oh, he's a car guy." Never said I was a car guy, just that I can do some small maintenance and repairs like oil, brakes, water pumps, etc. A bit off putting for simply asking questions.Don't assume every customer is looking to cheat to save a buck, transparency is often valued higher.

Super fast, reliable and consistent service. We’ve had everything from tire patches to control arm replacements and alignments done here and they always do a great job at a reasonable price.Also, these amazing people got my fleet company to approve snow tires! For those unfamiliar with fleet, it’s a task just to get a cabin air filter replacement approved- let alone snow tires. The incredible staff here spent hours on the phone fighting for me and got me some amazing snow tires that will keep me from going off the road this winter. Thanks Utopia!!!

On our way to Steamboat for a family reunion and had trailer trouble. Jordan didn’t miss a beat when we walked in unannounced. It was determined that a few repairs were needed. Cost was reasonable and service was 2nd to none. Great staff. Wish we had a shop this good near Bailey.

On Firday, 11August 2023 my family and I were traveling through Fairplay on our way to Gunnison. Unexpectedly a trailer tire blew through the tread totally mutated the tire. I call Utopia tire to let them know I was on my way and needed a new tire. When I arrived I found out the tires were more than 12 years old. Not wanting to take a chance of another blowout, 4 new tires were installed. I was in and out within about an hour. Fast and very friendly. They even brought out some water for my dogs along with a few dog treats. I can’t say it’s exciting to buy tires, but the people there made it a very pleasant experience. TERRIBLE SERVICE!Charged me $800 for a problem they couldn’t fix and wouldn’t refund me my money! Brought my truck in on 2 separate occasions for the same problem and it still wouldn’t run right. Ended up taking it to the Ford dealership and they said these morons at Utopia put in the wrong parts for my truck. Don’t waste your time with these clowns and take it to someone that knows what they’re actually doing because you won’t get your money back once it’s gone.

While on our way to a vacation home in Park County, our Ford Expedition started sputtering and the check engine light started flashing on the way up Kenosha Pass. We made it to our destination, thankfully. I called up the shop the next day and they took care of the issue the same day and got us back on the road again. Great service, great people and we are so grateful for their help.

Called the day before to let them know we would be coming in. Called the day of, 1hr before arrival. We agreed on a simple tire rotation at 11am. Since they knew we were traveling through, and a rotation is all of 10 mins of labor, I assumed they’d be done long before we finished lunch. At 3pm when we hadn’t heard anything we went back to find they hadn’t even touched the vehicle. So we left. That’s >4hrs to not even get to a tire rotation! I hope they treat the locals better than the travelers!

These people are AMAZING! The owner is wonderful and the ladies up front are so helpful! We purchased a series of campers and came in with 16 tires and 16 wheels for them to be mounted on and they took them no issues and were finished before it had even been 2 hours! If you need any tire services in the FairPlay area, I HIGHLY recommend this place. Shout out to Jen and Athena! Thank you for everything!

We had a flat tire on while on vacation near Alma so drove down to Utopia to have it inspected. Staff were courteous and were able to patch and repair the flat. Quick turnaround at a reasonable price, and we were able to drive with no issues for the rest of our vacation.A month later, now out of the mountains, the same tire registered low pressure. We had the tire inspected again and the patch was slowly leaking, and the tech noted damage to the tire bead, necessitating replacement of the tire. We contacted Utopia about the issue and they were understanding of our situation, even offering to cover the cost of the tire replacement. Really glad to have worked with a place that helped us out and did us right.Service: Tires

Utopia in Fairplay, CO with Kendra and Mitcheal is still my go to for everything my truck needs. There's a beautiful new waiting area with super comfy couches and a tv in case your phone gets boring! There's a charging station and a desk area if you need to work on your laptop.

I had both tires of my camper blow out on my way thru FairPlay. I called to see if they had my tire size. I wasn’t feeling very confident that they would. They had gotten them in the day before. I brought the tires in and they were kind and so helpful. They even offered me coffee and a peach. They had me on my way in about an hour and a half. This business made a horrible day turn out ok. I would give this shop 10 stars! My car broke down in Hartsel. When I called they were able to look at it the next day. As a woman getting a car repaired I feel like a sitting duck. They went WAY above and beyond and did it all with a smile!! Repairs were minor and they did it all at a reasonable price. Utopia is my repair/tire shop of choice. It is worth the extra drive. Ray and Kendra (who drives a pretty sweet Bronco) were fantastic ! Thank you!!

Kendra and the crew of Mechanics at Main Street Garage are top notch and super quick! I had the craziest deadline with my transportation company getting my trailer to Florida and they got me ready to hit the road with new tires and peace of mind that it's going to arrive safely! The short notice and time frame I gave them really was near impossible and the fact that they did it really speaks volume and makes them stand out. Great shop and great people! Had a scary situation driving from Buena Vista back to a rental cabin in Fairplay and had to get towed into the nearest shop, which was Utopia.Everyone in the shop was so friendly and I couldn’t believe they were able to fit me in the same day around 3pm. After dropping off my car, the tow truck driver and I were headed to get me a rental car in Breckenridge, and after about 10 mins this shop did everything they could to get ahold of me to stop me from getting a rental as they were able to fix my issue so quickly. It was something caused by another mechanic in a different state, but an easy fix! The fact this auto shop did everything they could to help me so quickly AND prevent me from wasting money on a rental speaks volumes about the trustworthiness of this company and the awesome people that work there! HIGHLY recommend this shop - thanks for helping me out after a very stressful situation!

We were up at our family cabin when we discovered we had a flat tire. I was able to fill with air enough and drive over to Fairplay, where these friendly folks were able to repair the tire (a nail had punctured and stuck in the tire). They were super quick, we had the tire repaired within an hour. They saved us a lot of money and headaches. I highly recommend this place!

I made an appt. to have my Tahoe looked at due to a "service 4wd" light. Took it in at 8:30, they called an hour later with the problem, got the part same day, and it was ready at 4:00pm. Impressive. I would highly recommend. Also, I see some 1 star reviews where the people are not being honest and/or not telling the whole story. That is sad. So wrong.

We got great service here. We were up from Denver and our check engine light came on, they got us in immediately and were able to run diagnostics on the spot. They determined that it was not a problem that needed immediate repair. We were able to enjoy our weekend without having to worry about our car. We were passing through Fairplay and were involved in an accident. We are from Florida and we called the folks at Utopia Tire to see if they could check out our car and see if it was safe to drive. The lady owner was very kind and caring checking our car in. Jordan the shop manager was very concerned and thoroughly checked the damage and found out our car was safe to drive. Spent $3100 on a clutch for an ‘07 Nissan Xterra. The service writer failed to recommend we replace the slave cylinder on this car, which has 188k miles. Slave cylinder failed 2000 miles later during a cross country road trip after they had removed it and put it back into place to replace the clutch. Ended up spending hundreds of extra dollars to repair and accommodate us overnight, 2000 miles away from home, and at this point, will never take any of my 5 vehicles back to this shop and encourage no one else to either. They also only provided a 6-month warranty on the clutch, we’ll see if it lasts even that long. Very disappointed.

This small mountain town repair shop was fun to stop at. They had a few dogs walking around if you're in need of free pet therapy and services were completed earlier than expected. The staff were very courteous and had everything organized to minimize the wait time. Even went above and beyond to get repairs replaced after unforseen failure of parts replaced. Great job UTAR.

My car started overheating on my way down the mountains and the water pump broke right as I was pulling into Fairplay on a Friday afternoon. Main Street Garage was able to look at my vehicle that day, pick up the parts on Sunday afternoon, and have it running by the time I had to be out of the hotel on Tuesday. They were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule and were so nice and professional about explaining everything. I am very thankful they were able to fix the part for my 12 hour drive home. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Chip fixed our flat tire at the very end of the day without an appointment. We were camping and just happened to see our tire pressure was very low. Chip and his team stayed a bit after they were closed to fix it. While I’m sure they cannot always accommodate last minute requests, they generously helped us. Came in for an 8 o'clock appointment and it wasn't until 9:30 when they started working on my vehicle.
