I saw on social media a meme about an escap room idea, but a bookstore. Clearly marked exits and an hour to leave the store. I truly believe that it was based off of this bookstore. The staff was great. When I picked out a book both sales people said it was a good read and one even said the second book in the series is currently at the editors. That is knowledge. We'll stocked shelves and so many offerings. Wish I had this store back home.

Lovely book store in a lovely small town. Don't let the size fool you, they have quite a nice selection and variety. From young kids to adults all will find something as long as you aren't too picky like our kid who wanted a book about foxes. Our 2 kids age 8 and 10 didn't have any trouble finding something they'd read tho otherwise.

Neat, homey, and beautiful book shop! They have been here since 1928! Impressive! They have a good variety of book genres, however, my favorite part has to be their souvenir and gifts they have to offer. I bought just about all of my gifts here for friends and family. They have amazing deals! They have unique gifts such as local artists' painted book marks. They ladies working the book store are super friendly and are more than happy to have a conversation with you to tell you about the history of this place. I was very fortunate to have found this shop exploring the mountain town of Estes

Lovely book store in a quaint town. They have quite a nice selection and variety despite a misleading exterior. Plenty of books to choose from with a little something for everyone, lovely ladies working the front, and a great aesthetic inside. My friend and I enjoyed browsing reading materials and warming up next to the fire :)

Browsed through this charming book store while strolling downtown Estes Park. The store was filled with an array of genres and mainstream books. Customers must use hand sanitizer before entering and handling the books. Spoke to the owner, who said the store has been in business for over 50 years. Hoping the best for them.

A great bookstore right along the mix of all the shops!I love that they had a little bit of everything. The lady was very helpful in helping me find a good read and I cannot wait to come back.

Very helpful and friendly staff with recommendations. Also a very cool store to browse even if you aren't looking for something to read. (I mostly audible)

Great little shop, packing a lot of variety, popular and classics, into a quaint space. Check out the friendly staff and the even friendlier bookshop dog in-residence.

Very much the traditional boutique bookstore and every bit as adorable. Great selection especially considering the size and beautiful store. If you’re looking for modern reads, best place in Estes bar none.

Great bookstore. Is missing upstairs gift bags and other items. I used to love shopping for the single sheet wrapping paper in the assorted styles, patterns, and textures. The main level coffee shop is still one of the best in Estes Park. Lovely flowers and seating right out back.

Beautiful, quaint bookstore nestled amongst other small shops. Nice variety of books, bookmarks, maps, and more. Also a nice cooking section, including those designed for high altitude cooking/baking.

The bookstore and the owners/employees, stole my whole heart!Settled in the heart of downtown Estes Park, CO, I find myself ready to go back. We come there on vacation there from SC. The bookstore is so cute and the employees are so kind and helpful. Definitely a place to visit!

I love finding little book stores. This place is small but packs quite a stock. It was fun walking out with two new books (who goes to a bookstore and doesn't buy something?). The staff was so friendly. I could have stayed and talked to them for hours.

This bookstore is a must visit while you're here. The folks at the shop are passionate about books and even took time to help my daughter find the perfect read. Go in and grab a book to cozy up with!

Great selection! It looks small from the outside but the inside is very large. They have “blind dates” where they wrap books and put the genre and a couple facts about the book on it and you can pick up a book that way for a little surprise which is great.

I love this little book shop. The staff are knowledgeable and kind. They have a really solid selection as well, especially for as small as it is. They have something for everyone. Fiction, non-fiction, history, sports, religion, manga, literally almost everything. Also, it's just got a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. I could sit in here for hours.

Tons of selections and a super friendly, but not pushy, helpful staff. Happy to shop at a local store rather than ordering online. Highly recommend this cute shop when you're in town.

A great bookstore. A cozy space (with lots of nooks and crannies for added character) and a solid selection, but most of all we appreciated how kind and invested the employees were. To the ladies working on the evening of June 1, thank you for making our visit memorable and for the attention that you showed our toddler. We will be back next time we are in town.

Lovely little bookshop. The woman at the counter was very knowledgeable about the books in her shop. They sell new, not used, books.

Stopped in this little shop with my husband and 3 children while visiting Estes Park in June. The ladies in the shop were incredibly helpful making suggestions of books my kids might like based on books they had read. We really appreciated them reminding everyone entering the shop to use hand sanitizer and wear masks. We loved this cozy little bookstore and will make it a regular stop when we're in town.

Cozy bookstore with a nice variety of choices. They had a lot of informative outdoor materials and I would recommend stopping here before your outdoor adventures (since I didn't get much service in the national park)! They had books ranging from RMNP hiking maps, Colorado wildflower field guides, and pocket books to help identify animal tracks! They even had some nice brief laminated pamphlets on how to identify birds of prey, common RMNP animals, and wild mushrooms that you might spot on your hikes! I would highly recommend stopping if you have young kids so that you can grab some educational materials to keep them engaged at the park!I would like to note that they also had a wonderful selection of other kinds of books (fiction, poetry, science, crafts, young adult, etc). I just wished I had stopped by before the end of my trip to pick up some information guides for my hikes. For everyone's safety, the store asks people to wear masks and sanitize their hands before handling books. The owner was very sweet and they didnt mind that we stayed a while geeking out and perusing their selection.

This is one of my favorite bookstores I have ever been to. It has a great local history section, a plethora of guidebooks for all activities, and a unique feel only found here. There are twists and turns at every corner but still it is easy to navigate. It is located on the busiest street in Estes Park yet the back entrance makes it easy to get to. Knowledgeable staff that are passionate about books make this a perfect place to pick up a book for some reading next to the campfire or river.

Always a great experience. Friendly and clean. New owners seem to be carrying on a historic tradition of bookselling in Estes. I wish them great success! Order your books from here too...support this local biz!

We stop by on our visit to Estes Park. It is a small family owned bookstore from the 20s. The owner and employee were super helpful. Some of the books had a little insert of what the book was about. We love being able to support small bookstores and we will definitely come back.

If I could transplant this little slice of heaven back home to Minnesota, I would in a heartbeat. This is a quintessential independent book store. Not only is their selection diverse, but their staff is kind and knowledgeable. I dream of the day I get to go back to Estes Park. Not to scale a mountain, but to browse the Mcdonald Book Shop shelves.
