We ordered carry out from YNP in March of 2024, everything we ordered tasted fantastic. Honestly my only gripe is the size of the side of cottage cheese compared to the other sides. The cottage cheese came in a 4oz cup while all the other sides come in 16oz cups (about half full.)Parking: YNP is in a shared lot with several businesses so at peak season for Estes Park I’m sure the parking can be difficult.

Best deal and food in estes for breakfast and lunch. Excellent service every time. Nice staff. Cute place. Try the white chocolate syrup- your mouth will thank you. We have had cakes made here for birthdays we often get lunch dinner or breakfast. You really can not go wrong. Great location with great parking. Always have good music going too that you can lift up your spirits. And it hard not to take pie with you.

It was my birthday and I got to celebrate it here. We ordered lunch and kept room for dessert. Our waitress Haley was very professional and kind. She repeated our orders to confirm the orders and avoid any mistakes.Food didn’t take long to get and soon we were salivating about the pies. Food was great for the price and I don’t have any complaints.Moving on to the pie, we got the Frankenstein pie which is build your own pie of 6 different slices. We got a list to choose from and what was available in the case.$35 for 6 slices of pie. I was very impressed and all my guests tore it down real quick. I would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Estes park. Treat yourself to some high quality pie. We went to a few different places in Estes park but customer service was the best here.

We visited Estes Park for a few days. As our vacation coming to an end, my son wanted to have a local breakfast experience. We found You Need Pie Diner and Bakery. We showed up at 10:30am for brunch on a Friday, didn't have to wait to be seated. This place is big, it can accommodate a lot of guests. We had the patio seating, loved it!!! The three kids ordered their stuff, I got the Denver scrambled and baked hash brown, with a side of pancake (flap jack). The flap jack was huge and it was delicious, lite and fluffy. The baked hash brown was amazing, creamy and tasty. Coffee, what can I say, it's a diner coffee, nothing fancy. My husand met us at the diner after his bike ride. I ordered the corned beef hash for him, it was also very delicious. On the way out we grabbed three slices of pie, diff flavors, Apple, rhubbard/strawberry, and peach. They were hefty too. We all were satisfied with our dishes. Next time we're in Estes Park, for sure we'll come back to You Need Pie.

We saw this place advertised everywhere, but when we mentioned it to locals they didn’t seem to have a good perception of it. Someone in our group wanted breakfast for lunch at 2pm and this seemed like our best bet. Our server was great. The food was good; reasonably priced. The Nutella pie was very good. The pecan pie was very different than what we have in Kentucky!

We got cupcakes for our wedding from You Need Pie and they were great! You Need Pie was fairly easy to work with once we got in touch with the right person. We tasted a few options and then picked the combinations we liked the best - lemon with raspberry filling, chocolate with chocolate frosting, red velvet with cream cheese frosting, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, and gluten free vanilla with chocolate frosting. You Need Pie delivered in a timely manner to Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park, and they came out looking so cute! Our guests loved them and the cupcakes were BIG. Highly recommend for wedding/catering needs! (Photos: Kalen Jesse Photography)

This was the perfect brunch spot after a long hike in the park. Parking was relatively easier because the diner is before the main tourist strip in Estes. We were sat outside on their comfortable patio, and the service was great. I got the Denver Scramble and my husband got the Oinker Biscuits. Our food arrived so quickly at our table before we could even look at all of our hiking photos. My only criticism is that the biscuits seemed like they were missing a bit of salt. But the wonderful service and food will have us coming back again. I can’t wait to try the lunch menu and pie!

We went to this diner based on their website. They advertised a very enticing number of flavorful pies.We arrived around 5 PM on a Saturday, so I am sure people had been in and out all day long. There were still quite a few pies, but most of what I would consider the favorites were already gone.We decided to get dinner to go & take back to our Airbnb and enjoy . I ordered the meatloaf dinner for my hubby. It came with a side of mashed potatoes and some green beans. He is very particular about his meatloaf. He rated it as average +, and said the cream beans were not done enough for him which is subjective of course. The mashed potatoes were good. I ordered the chicken pot pie. it came in a pint container that contained lots of potatoes, some carrots and cream gravy, and a small quantity of boneless chicken. The crust was separate, which was nice, so it didn't get soggy, but I honestly am unsure of exactly what the crust consisted of. It was tasty for sure!!It was a hearty meal due to the large volume of potatoes in the filling. We were too full to consume our pie that evening .We ended up taking home five slices of pie. Two slices of apple for our granddaughter one slice of chocolate pecan for- hubby, and I to share - one slice of apple for the hubby and a slice of peach rhubarb for me.All the pies were tasty., To me the crust was not delicate, but it was flavorful. Apple was the top pick of everybody.(yes, we all tasted each other's pies.)Our tab for two meals to go, and five slices of pie nicely pieced into a pie tin including tip was $65.It's a cute little diner with a nice space outside when the weather is cooperative.Anywhere you go in the little town of Estes Park there is a beautiful view since it sits at the foot of the Rocky Mountains!

Delicious pie! Strawberry rhubarb was good but German chocolate was to die for! Would have loved to see more chocolate varieties, but maybe there were earlier in the day. When we came it was all fruit pies plus the German chocolate, which was so good but our non coconut loving kids would’ve liked another chocolate. Fun 50s diner atmosphere.

This place was recommended to me by a local shop owner. Definitely worth the visit. The pie was truly good. The Monte Cristi was fresh with the right blend of sweet and melted cheese and meet. It is a generous portion as well. The chicken pot pie was good with the right blend of chicken and vegetables. The pie was very very good. I had the blueberry and peach. My wife had the silk chocolate. You should try the pie!

It was great to find a pie shop open so late as we'd had a busy day in the national parkNoelle could not have done anything else to help us enjoy our stay. She was polite, courteous and very attentiveThe pies tasted great but it would have been good to have something to put the used tea bags in. In Germany, many places have small table trash cans, so perhaps something to think aboutPrices were quite high, but this is a tourist town and if you want nice pie, you've gotta pay the price!

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - Ordered the Chicken pot pie with mashed potatoes and country gravy since it's a pie place. The pot pie was surprising since it doesn't actually have a pie crust but a slice of bread on top and was a really small serving compared to the other dish. It was oddly sour and oily so we asked and were able to get the dish replaced with Val's Meatloaf. The meatloaf was really good as it's juicy and light with some sweetness and tartness from the tomato topping. We don't recommend paying the extra $2 for country gravy since it's a really small side.YNP Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast with overhard eggs was great. The steak was juicy and nicely battered with some saltiness from the gravy that accentuates the steak. The cheesy hash brown is wonderful and I can probably eat a whole plate of it.Blackberry peach pie is amazing!! Not too sweet but a great balance of sweetness and tartness from the different fruits. The crust is sweet with some sort of breading/toffee thing which adds a bit of crunchy and crumbly texture to complement the soft pieAmbience: N/A - ordered food to go. There's a display with all the pies available. Don't look before eating since you'll want a slice of everything!!Service: 5/5 - cashier was super friendly and gave us a few recommendations for fruit pies. Lots of servers and customers coming in and out around noon on a Sunday. Mary was really understanding and helped us replace our dish for something differentValue for price: 4/5 - good food, great service, AMAZING pie

Very young employees who are fast with service, and depends who you get awesome at customer service. I had 5 pies here (slices). My absolute favorite was the peanut butter pie! - it was very pretty, tasted stellar, and creamy! I would return over and over again for this pie.The second was the strawberry rebar, presentation was not its best, but the flavors were! The other 3 pies were nothing big to write home about (apple pie, key lime pie, chocolate silk pie), but I did still enjoy them! They have great coffee too!

We were seated promptly in the outdoor patio area upon arrival. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs breakfast and the wife had the veggie grilled cheese sandwich. Both were very good but the portions were a little on the lite side. After the meal, we tried the triple berry pie. It was good but nothing to write home about. The server was very attentive and provided excellent service. The overall experience was very good. We would definitely return to this establishment in the future when we’re in the local area.

I'm electing to edit this review from 11 months ago as my wife and I paid three visits to You Need Pie within a span of 3 days this past week. As with many popular places the place can be very busy during peak times so I would encourage you to choose your dining time wisely. Our three servers on three consecutive days were Caesar, Kylie, and Merin. Each one of these fine young adults treated us as though we were special from the time we sat down until the time we paid the bill. The pie is excellent, and we knew it would be. Folks, you really need to check out this fine dining establishment in Estes Park. And yeah, they serve more than pie. Their breakfast burritos are over the top! I'm adding a couple new photos which will show in addition to the one photo from last year's visit. Yeah, we even had a salad before ordering our pie on one day!On several visits to Estes Park we've visited, it's been handy, you know ... just down the street and usually within easy walking distance from our hotel. On this most recent visit, we were in Woodland Park CO., planning on heading home to Iowa, and thought that a piece of pie would taste awful good. Go ahead and Google it. It's not easy to get from Woodland Park to Estes Park, but we did by taking a beautiful trip through RMNP. Anyway, back to the pie. This pic may not look like much, but it's the best pie in the world. Always fresh, and they always have a wide variety. This is their Apple Pie with ice cream, I chose Rhubarb.Check out You Need Pie, you won't be disappointed.

What a wonderful find! My wife and I found this place when we were in Colorado to get married last year. We didn’t realize how far Estes Park was from Denver (it looks different on a map and I haven’t lived in the area for YEARS). We got to our cabin and dropped off our stuff and needed dinner after a long day of travel, so we looked online and found this friendly spot. We were delighted to find normal sized portions (not the enormous portions in Texas) and the food was quite good. We ate here almost every day in Estes Park and enjoyed each meal. We limited our pie consumption to just one visit and wow, each piece we ordered was great (no sharing dessert when dinner is a normal sized portion… ha!).We’ve told people back home about this spot and recommended if they go to Estes Park and need a meal, they need pie. 🤪Parking: There is plenty of parking.

Nice spot for a quick piece of pie with lots of options. The crust does its job perfectly, holding the fruit and then melting away.Lots of friendly staff working together.

I came here because I wanted some pie and the website and reviews looked great. Inside was nice. It's a little diner with a oldies vibe. I ordered the club and tots which was decent . I also had apple pie and was a smidge disappointed. Maybe it was the online hype but I expected something... better. The service was also lacking. It wasn't busy when I arrived. I was seated fast. Waited on a little slower. Food came in a decent amount of time. When I was finished it was awhile before I was asked if I were done and my check was brought. By then I was the only person in the restaurant and was a tad irritated. It felt like I was purposely being ignored. The lack of attention given to me was astounding. I could've easily gotten up and walked out without paying and the staff wouldn't have even noticed. Maybe on another day at a different time and with different staff my experience would have been better. I don't think I would return if I were staying longer.

We have had the pie before and it's pretty good but we had never tried the diner. Notchtop was closed since it was a pretty late lunch but this place's reputation pulled us inside. We roll in and the atmosphere is cool enough. It's a small space but has the diner feel and the oldies were rockin'.Waiter was nice but I don't think he understood what we were asking sometimes. We got our drinks quickly but they didn't get refilled despite being empty. To be fair, we didn't ask...but we were checked on only once just after the food came out.The turkey sandwich was ok...one from Notchtop would knock this out of the way. Waiter said there was no mayo/dressing on it...it had mayo. We can take it off, it's ok.The meatloaf sandwich, well, I asked for white but got wheat. I couldn't taste the meatloaf itself. Usually meatloaf has a punch to it but this just tasted like warm, lightly seasoned meat. What flavor it *did* have was overpowered by the "ketchup sauce" which tasted like raw crushed tomato. There was no vinegar kick to it.All in all, $41 after the tip and we left wishing we had just gone to Subway or even McDonald's. That's disappointing because the pie *IS* good...the diner just needs a little work.I'll still stop by to see if the Coconut Cream can top the one at Notchtop. That thing is dangerous.

This was the first restaurant I got to eat in Colorado and it didn't disappoint. I had the egg sandwich and it was delicious. We also ordered the peach and mango pie, and at first i thought that it was a weird combo but it actually was a very good combo. If I'm ever in Estes Park I will definitely go again. We sat near this giant map with pins of people who put where they are from, i was the first person from Ventura California to be there. Oh and our server was so sweet and helpful. I'm sorry i had forgotten her name but thank you!

The breakfast food was great, but somewhat small portions. They are the highest rated pie shop in the area. We each had fresh strawberry pie. There was a heavy whipped cream on top, a nice tasting crust, but the strawberries and gelatin was just ok. There wasn't but a few thinner slices of strawberries atop of a layer of strawberry gelatin.Good pie, but definitely not the best I ever had. The atmosphere and service was outstanding.

Update September 2023: I headed up to Estes Park for some shopping, and of course, I had to order some scumptous pies to bring home.German Chocolate and Raspberry Cream Cheese These pies are a must if I'm jn Estes Park. This little gem is tucked away behind McDonalds, believe it or not in a strip mall. They have outdoor seating & are pet friendly to boot.Only waited maybe 5 minutes for a table inside, the host was so polite too. I overheard a Karen and felt sorry for him & he was so apologetic to Karen.Enough now the food, ordered the 1/2 order biscuit & gravy, w/scrambled eggs & hash browns. For the price & the flavor was good & the food was hot.Shout out to my waiter Cesar, God I spelled it wrong. I know it.Ordered 3 pies ahead of time to take with me home ( Peach Cherry, German Chocolate & Raspberry Cream Pie.Will post pictures soon, and I got a piece of Strawberry Peach for dinner. These pies are da bomb, only my mother could make one so good. These people have it down to an art.Their Restaurant and staff are why we support locally as these people put their heart & soul into their business.Update: Cut into the German Chocolate pie, OMG, it's better than cake. So big & filling, the crust is still flaky. On the inside is major Chocolate topped with German Chocolate you literally cut thru with a knife, so scumptous I will never like cake over pie. Stay tuned for the Raspberry Cream Pie review, too.The Raspberry Cream Pie is too die for. The flavor just melts in your mouth. You get major Raspberry taste & then, the cream is so silky along with smooth. Definitely gonna get this again, you can always order thru Goldbelly & it's worth it big time.Stay tuned for the Peach & Cherry pie review.

We had such an amazing experience! We came in just before closing but were taken care of so graciously. The food was incredible; we all had sandwiches, and the ingredients and bread were some of the best we had. And the pie!!! We had caramel apple pecan, and all of us agreed it was the best pie we'd ever had. Thank you so much, and we look forward to coming back when we're in town!!!
