I CANNOT say enough good things about Dave and his staff. Dave is VERY knowledgeable and helpful with any and all questions you may have. His establishment is clean, the birds are WELL taken care of, the birds are not deprived in anyway on anything. He had a great selection on cages and toys. If you’re thinking about getting a bird, go to someone who’s been in business for years. We love the bird man Dave.💙💛 most importantly, we love our Harlie girl that he helped guide us to.

I get my bird's food and toys from here. They have a big toy selection. The couple who own the store together are great. Ron and Dave are always helpful when I have questions. I didn't buy my bird from here. I think their birds are overpriced. But go for the toys.

I purchased a large exotic bird about 9 years ago from Dave, and it was the best experience I could've had. I absolutely love my bird and the experience of getting to hand raise my bird from a 2-3 month old featherless hatchling to a beautiful brightly-colored adult green-wing macaw! Customer service is very good, and informative. Wonderful place that really vets the people that are coming in looking for a companion. Marnie and Dave as well as the other employees are not afraid to tell someone that they may not be experienced enough or a good fit for certain birds.Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. They have a back room where you can meet the larger parrots and an additional room they usually has cockatiels or conures to meet with as well.You can tell that all of the birds are really well cared for.We've picked up some family members over the years to add into our flock, they sometimes take in rescues like our boy Chief (Hawk-headed Parrot) that was previously used as a breeder bird and was very fearful and missing toes, had nerve damage and a heart murmur. We love him to bits!We also got Kirsikka many many years ago (Monk parakeet) and recently added Claudio (sun conure) to the flock too. He's gorgeous with his red factor and is so gentle and talkative.This is the only place that sells the giant ladders that our Umbrella Cockatoo and Congo African Grey LOVE! Marnie hand makes a lot of the little toys as well.Price ls can be "higher" than regular pet stores but the quality is way better and the birds are treated a thousand times better. They work with the birds and a lot of them are a bit more receptive to you because of it.

I just wanted to say thank you to Dave. You are awesome on raising birds!! I bought 2 of my cockatiels from here and they are simply the best birds I have both are very tame and sweet! If you want a good bird this is the place to go! I will be recommending everyone I know to you guys. And the staff is awesome and really know about birds! Thank you again and keep up the good work!

Use to be my favorite place since I got my birds but now it's 45$ for grooming my two birds that takes less than 10 minutes. 270$ a hour basically. Just stupid no reason it should be that much.

Stopped in to look for some new toys and really liked the selection of everything. Lots of toys, perches, ladders, ropes, bulk food, fruits, nuts, treats and other bird goodies. They seemed to be nice and friendly.

Great selection of toys, cages, and other bird supplies. Staff were friendly and happy to answer the infinite questions of my son. Birds in the store looked happy and healthy. We were even able to find a couple toys for an extra picky cockatiel.

Found this place around mother's day. My kids were getting me a bird and we wanted it from somewhere other than a big box pet store. When we walked into this place, I immediately knew my bird was coming from them. The place is awesome! Full of all sizes and types of parrots and birds, many flying free in their bird room. We loved it. The staff was super awesome as well. They answered my 100s of questions, showed me all types of baby birds and helped me pick the bird that was right for me. We went with a cockatiel. At the time he wasn't even born yet. But we put a deposit down on a male cockatiel and a week ago we were finally able to bring him home. This is Luda 😊

My fiance and I went there on Wednesday with an appointment to hopeful find a conure to add to our family and the whole experience was amazing. Dave was so helpful and took us back to see the available ones. He let us take two out and get to know them in his grooming room so it was a little quieter for them. He didn't bother us or try to force us to purchase a bird he actually let us have time to see if we bonded with any. We ended up choosing a pineapple green cheek and he told us that the baby would be ready Friday. He told me I didn't have to pay for the whole bird up front I could put a deposit down and pay the remaining upon pickup which was really nice. He was super helpful going over the sales contract and how to properly feed and actually took the time to go over good foods vs. bad foods. When I went to go pick up our new baby he had it waiting up front for our appointment and helped us pick out toys and food that would last us a couple months. The baby (unknown gender so no name yet) is settling in nicely so far and is already playing with one of the toys he suggested and already ate a little as well. I'll definitely be coming back for more toys and when we need to refill on food. Thank you Dave!

This shop is amazing! There is a wide variety of parrot toys for every size bird and breed. Especially the handmade artisan toys for small birds. The food selection is broad as well. Large selection of birds too. Clean and well managed shop.

Amazing place, got our new feathered family member here. Wonderful people that have a beautiful place for feathered friends to grow and interact with future families. This is where I go to enrich my feathered children’s lives with high quality food and an extensive exotic avian education via Dave. He rocks! I live on the western slope, and had been looking for a companion for my lovebird to keep them company while I'm out after my canary passed. Of course it was a drive, but it's a drive I'd do a million times over for the experience I had gotten.It's been almost a year after I had visited, but the staff is wonderful and cares immensely for the birds in their shop, educating those who come in on everything! They take the time to ensure their birds are in good health, and ask the right questions to ensure they'll be going to a home that'll love them forever. If I ever feel like my flock needs to grow again, they're the first people I'll see!Here's to a happy, lifelong, companionship for Piccolo and my newest baby, Kami

They were professional and personable in explaining the differences between birds I was interested in and their individual care needs. We have had parakeets and cockatiels for buddies over the years. Decided we wanted a hand fed/raised parakeet after 15 years of not having a bird. I called to ask if they had any. Normally they don’t usually have parakeets on a regular basis but they happened to have 3! We headed up to the store on 2/2/23 and came home with a lovely female violet-blue Opaline budgie that we named Pixie. The gentleman working that day was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The store has everything you might need for your bird family member. In the 10 days we’ve had her we couldn’t love her more! She has a very sweet personality and we are bonding quite quickly. Nearly have her finger trained and she entertains us daily with her funny antics. She’s even started muttering as a prelude to talking. So happy Exotic birds of Denver exists for the good of these beautiful creatures!Update 2/13/23 happy to report that on Superbowl Sunday Pixie became reliably finger trained! Only took 7 days for her to figure us out. So much out of the cage fun with her now!Update 3/20/23 She’s talking!!! “Pretty bird” “whatcha doing” “peekaboo”!!! Pixie is an absolute delight!

Absolutely love the owner here, such a great guy, does great grooming on my birds. You can tell he cares about your birds and his own.He is the last of his kind in the Denver metro area as we have lost many bird shops like this so was glad to find him.If I have a complaint, it's the location. It's hard to find parking at times, last time I went there was construction and street sweeping at the same time, but its worth it for the kind of care he gives.
