Best bookshop in the mountain you will ever find. This place is so unique and has lots of collections for all type of books. Plus it is open till 10PM on weekends. I highly recommend to visit this bookstall and you can buy many great books from here. Really love the interior

We were wandering around the farmers market in Durango and walked back along the main street only to discover this fabulous book store. A wonderful selection of books, friendly, knowledgeable folks and some unique gift ideas. This is definite 'must stop' in Durango.

Very nice. I'm a huge bookstore fan anyway, so this place deserved a peek. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection and interior largeness of this little store. We found the attendants to be friendly and helpful when they assisted me with my purchase.Parking is metered during business hours but free in the evenings and on weekends. Parking is on side streets, if there is no parallel sidewalk parking.

Such a fun variety books and an amazing staff! They are pet friendly and locally owned. Couldn't get better than that. Has a great kids section in the back half of the shop too.

Absolutely lovely book store with warmth not just in the interiors but also all of the staff. It was a pleasure being here and though my bags are heavier than they should be, my heart certainly is lighter than it could be.If you're fond of books (and conversation), do visit Maria's. If you're not, DO VISIT MARIA'S.P.S. Check out the Trump book, it's hilarious.

Gorgeous book shop with a wide variety of titles in all genres. They also have cards (boxes and individual), bookmarks, candles, and other gift items. The staff was quite knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy making recommendations. There’s also an excellent kids selection in the back.

This little bookstore is awesome. The staff was super friendly. I love that the shelves reached the ceiling and the workers had those bookshelf ladders to reach the books. It was like going into a little home library. Super cozy eviroment and the prices were good. Indie bookstores are so important.

What a cute bookshop. We visited after dinner at Carvers and picked up a book on Roosevelt. The store is so well lit and there’s a huge selection of books. I just wish they’d let you climbs the sliding ladders.

This is my favorite bookshop! They always have unique displays with awesome feedback from people who read and work in the store. Finding books that are unheard of and very good is easy in Maria's. I could spend all day just in this one store. They change their main displays frequently and keep up with what people are looking for. They have excellent guidebooks that are found nationally and also ones that are produced locally with excellent local knowledge. Its location on Main Street is prime for enjoying the local scene. The staff is always friendly and get just as excited talking about books as I do. They even have rolling ladders so they can have floor to ceiling books! Maria's is a must for both infrequent and frequent readers.

I love it here! The past two years they order my issue of the witches almanac. And I go pick it up from them, they also tend to have other oddities I don't see in some other bookstores around town! Great place to go for your young book reader!

Hands down would take a three-hour drive just to visit. Loved it they had so many books it was hard to choose just one. I didn't know they had an unofficial guide to the movies of studio Ghibli!

This is a required stop for family trips to Durango on the weekend. This Bookshop really focusing on having a wide variety of literature. They also have an important focus on local authors. Also a great selection of modern western authors.

I like the quality and variety of the books. They used to have a bigger section of poetry books. But, I have found that if you can't find what you're looking for that they'll look for it online. If so, you can order there through the store. The staff/employees are very helpful as well.

Helpful staff. Went there to quickly use gift certificate for fear of Maria's not surviving Dgo economy, but I didn't see that at all -- it was busy, and obviously doing well. They had all 5 books I was looking for. Maria's has never failed me.

Love to see multiple reviews of racism. I also noticed that there were no books from the conservative side of politics. Obviously the liberals run the shop, and as we conservatives know, the liberals tend to be the most racist. So, either we have people who are falsely accusing racism, or, as usual, the libs are guilty of it. Typical. I'll let you all know despite being conservative, as white people we were not racially profiled. I'm sure if I'd asked for a book written by Rush Limbaugh we would have been asked to leave. I love Durango, but it's definitely changed in the years since I lived there.
