My dog has been attending daycare at HHFC (commonly referred to as puppy play school in my house) for about 5 months now, and today he is just as excited and happy to go as he was as a little guy, which speaks to the level of care he is given there, and the fun that he has at daycare while I work 4 days per week. He has also boarded with them on several occasions, and he is happy at drop off and pick up. It has become his second home, and I love that I can leave him while I work or go out of town, knowing that he is safe, happy and well taken care of by his extended family there! The peace of mind is worth every dollar, and I’m so happy to have been referred to them when I got him. Whenever we say we are going to puppy school he gets excited and is ready to go. :) I would also like to note that Ollie has been going there since he was a little pup, and I have not experienced behavioral problems with him at home, so I do believe that the staff has reinforced the things that mattered to me when he was little, such as no jumping or biting, and my now 50 pound pup does not jump on people when he is excited or bite hands when playing or being fed treats etc. Lastly, I appreciate that the owner does not allow unvaccinated dogs to stay, as it has helped keep my pup healthy despite his very social lifestyle!

The ladies at Healthy Hounds were amazing. 10/10 recommend!The building is hard to find, and don’t use Google Maps as it takes you to their old location on highway 160. Their new location is at the intersection of Bodo & Turner drive, and not well marked.Our family adopted an Aussie who was quite overgrown, and yes, I know they’re long haired, double-coated dogs. I was expecting long hair, but he was shaggy! Brodie had probably 6-7 inches of hair and looked more like a sheepdog than an Aussie. We could tell he was hot and uncomfortable, not to mention matted and dirty from not getting the grooming he needed for a couple of years.We had called around Farmington, Aztec, Bloomfield, and Durango, and everywhere was booked up for over a month, but these ladies were able to pencil us in on a cancellation a week sooner than any appointments available anywhere else I called.They gave Brodie the full treatment top to bottom for $150, which was more than I liked but much less than I expected for how much work he was. To get him sheered down, de-shedded, de-matted, with a nail trim, sanitary haircut, and gland expression, plus a wash and dry in under 5 hours was excellent.Y’all, don’t sleep on these ladies!

This place is terrible! We called them to try and get our dog boarded while we rode the train. We are on vacation and needed a place to keep her for a little bit. They said they needed her vaccinations...so I called and got them emailed to them. Then they said they needed a specific one not given in Texas but available at Tractor Supply. I tried to call them fifty times for information and no one would answer the phone. At the last minute they said she should have gotten the vaccine a day or two beforehand. I guess while they weren't answering the phone

Their hours align with some of the train timetables which is fantastic. And if the train is delayed in returning they'll keep your dogs in an area accessible outside so the customer can retrieve their pups after hours, like our case recently. They even speak German which was appreciated since our dogs are trained in the language. Wonderful place.

Come in for vacation and brought in our dog for daycare and 1 night of boarding. Everyone was professional & our Duke had fun with others pups in the snow.

I would not bring my dog back here unless I absolutely had to. The reason I'm giving them two stars over one is because at least I was able to get the dog washed. I use a lot of do-it-yourself dog washes and this was the worst! They were out of half the shampoos and they had no conditioner. The area was dirty and if it hadn't been that I needed to wash her so badly I would have left. In addition that was the most expensive do-it-yourself dog wash I've ever done and they didn't even have what I needed. I wish they would have told me that when I called because I could have brought my own products and use their facilities and I would have been happier. It wasn't until I got back and realized that they didn't have the things I wanted and it was too late to leave which was frustrating because when they took my money at the beginning of the dog wash they could have told me they were out of certain items. When I asked if it was just that the containers were not full she told me that they were out. I wasn't offered a discount or invited to come back when they had everything in stock. Instead they were full of excuses. They took my money and did not deliver the experience I expected. The attitude of the woman running the front was that I should just be happy I was able to get my dog bathed.

Our dogs enjoyed their overnight stay. They were excited to see us when we picked them up. They seemed well-fed and didn't have to pee right away (a problem we've experienced at other boarding places).The place seemed a little messy and every time we called to confirm our plans or update vaccination records, they couldn't remember us or find our reservation. It wasn't a problem in the end.Our main concern was that when we picked up the dogs we had to wait while two people who arrived after us dropped their dogs for daycare. It was frustrating that we were made to wait for a pick-up (we even paid when we dropped off so it should have been quick).

What a relief to be able to drop off the 4 dogs so we could sight see without worrying about them roasting in the back of the pickup or tearing up the RV. Friendly staff that did a great job with our dogs that had never been boarded.

I had been taking my dog, Piper to HHFC since 2020. She loved seeing her puppy and human friends. She always came home tired and happy. The owner and staff were wonderful. The facility was always clean. I will always recommend HHFC!

Grrrreat staff snd owner. Organized and always seems to never overbook. Dogs get good attention. My Franklyn has been to other daycare /overnight dog places and he lets me know what he likes and doesn’t like. For instance he Will stand by door as I check him in or run back to truck when he sees where we are walking into when doesn’t want to stay. BUT He literally pulls me into Healthy Hounds and Fat Cats Their hours are great for check in check out and they do a well care check nite time with a relief break which does not happen in many places. Genuine care for the animals is evident for all those tgat stay play and board over nite.Side bar note… I notice that the employees seem happy there and there is not a big change over. Good sign as well.

Loved this place! They have a store front with lots of foods and dog gear. They took great care of my sweet-tempered and shy female lab mix while we were on vacation in the area. She seemed tired but well adjusted after both days. Recommend!

Put our dog in puppy daycare for the day while we rode the train. She seem to do fine, didn't play much but that is because she thinks she is human. The staff was very pleasant and actually trimmed her nails for me while she was there. If you have to leave the babies, this is where you should leave them.

This was a very nice place that I left my precious Jolie Fleur while we rode the Durango train. The people were very friendly and it looked clean plus the price was very fair. If you travel with a pet then you know that its hard enough to leave them where you live but to leave your beloved pet in a city that you don't know anyone is even harder. I have to say that I felt very comfortable with leaving her with these folks. I do highly recommend Healthy Hounds & Fat Cats!

We have used Healthy Hounds for our pup for almost a year now - and I can’t believe I haven’t yet written a review. The HHFC team has almost become family - my pup gets so excited for daycare and barely wants to come home. She is always so exhausted afterwards, I’m pretty sure she’s plays nonstop. We were visiting from out of state to take the afternoon train ride and HH&FC dog daycare watched our border collie so that we could bring him along. They also offered advice on how much time we needed to arrive in order to drive to the station and catch our train. I liked how we received a thorough behavior report when we picked him up. Described his personality perfectly so I know that he received individual attention. Highly recommend!

We simply love this little shop.They do grooming,kennel services,and have some neat doggy supplies(treats,foods,toys,collars,clothes,leashes,ect) and even have a single self wash station in the back.They don't sell anything online because the owner says she is far too busy-which I think is great! I certainly enjoy stopping in whenever I'm in the area and it's nice to see a small business doing well.

My pup Drogo and I are IN LOVE with this daycare! I love that they have "all day play," up to 9 hours, for an unbeatable price!I know they treat Drogo well and let him play and socialize in ways that stimulate and challenge him because he is always SO excited to run to their doors and greet the Healthy Hounds crew upon drop-off! Plus, he is always a happy and tired pup at the end of a day there!I think this is a great way for Drogo to stay socialized with other dogs and to stay active, to learn how to obey and trust other humans besides Mom (especially when Mom isn't around!) and it gets him out and about when otherwise he might be stuck at home while I have a long day at work! We have also used Healthy Hounds for their overnight boarding, and he was just as happy and excited upon pickup after a long weekend away from home as he was after one day of play, so I know they go above and beyond to take care of the pups when I have to leave town!We've been using Healthy Hounds since Drogo was barely 6 months old and I don't see us going anywhere else for doggie services anytime soon!

The Durango Steam train had this place listed on their website, then the clerk at our hotel recommended the place too. We were happy! They opened early to accommodate the train leaving before there were normally open. They washed our dogs while they had them for the day also. Call ahead to make a reservation. The staff was great and called our home vet to get proof of shots and that really made it easy! Easy to find and great to board your dogs for the day. I also walked out with products our dogs picked from the store!

The absolute worst grooming job ever! They charge twice as much as another reputable place; and they are ten times worse! I did communicate via text and email (because that's how the owner does business). Very impersonal. Very disorganized; and the worst grooming ever! And they just don't care! Said that they are booked 6 weeks out, and evidently had zero interest in my furbabies quality of life; and that's not okay. Soo maybe they are convenient for tourists and locals for day care; but, based on the outright lies told by staff (that a German speaking man was going to be grooming our dogs), don't go. Durango Pet Resort is literally half the price and twice as good! And she violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act doesn't score points! She's a liar everyone! She said they could squeeze us in in 6 weeks! Soo game on! Cease and desist from slander and defamation and false advertising! The worst!

My dog loves this place! The first time I took her to daycare, she came home with a report card listing all of the friends she played with and detailed how she was such a "social butterly." It's still on my fridge. I would take her here every day if I could. They offer a monthly punch pass but I wished they offered a yearly punch pass because I would be the first to buy one! I usually take her for a half day in the afternoon. One time I took her for a half day in the morning. When I picked her up at the lunch, all the dogs were taking a nap! I sent her to play not to sleep!! The pups seem much more active in the afternoon.
