Wow! This place is fabulous! We were able to get our Golden in quickly as we were on the cancellation list (great service). Abby’s groom was great - lots of attention to detail and her fur is so soft, now. We will be regular customers and we are so happy to have found a groomer we can wholeheartedly trust! Dog Gone Gorgeous is the best. We’ve been taking our poodle Terrapin there for a few years now and they do a great job grooming him. Efficient and professional. Amari is awesome as is the rest of the staff.

Took my dog there to get her anal glands expressed, they were not patient with her and were very rough when handling her; pulling on her collar hard enough for it to pull off, not making any attempt to go slow and make her comfortable, etc. I would not reccomend this place to anyone.

Amari is amazing the way she handles our Labradoodle, Sonny. She did a facial trim, removed the matted hair on his head, cleaned up the ears, trimmed the nails and made him look like a show dog in a matter of minutes. She's calm, professional, efficient and handles the dogs gently but firmly. My dog is always anxious at first but then Amari takes charge in a strong professional way and my dog is like, "Okay, this is the way it's going to be. I trust her, she knows what's she's doing. I can relax...and my mom can too! " You can bring your dog here without any hesitation. 😊

I've been bringing Piper to this dog grooming service since 2020, and they have consistently exceeded my expectations. The groomers are skilled, attentive, and genuinely care about Piper's well-being. Prices were very reasonable. Her coat always looks fabulous, and the staff creates a stress-free environment. We’re traveling with our dog and wanted to take her for a quick groom before heading back home. This place was amazing! They were quick, extremely friendly, and took great care of our dog. She smells amazing, her coat is so shiny and soft, her nails got trimmed, and they sent her with a cute bandana. Pricing was very reasonable as well! We will be back next time we come through Durango with our pup!

Awesome service! They really understand what I want in my dogs grooming and they respect each of my dog's personalities. They track what measurements they use so that they can replicate the last cut easily without me having to explain. My dogs always come back happy and looking great!

To anyone considering dog gone gorgeous -As a former employee of the shop, I just want to make sure that you as owners are able to make an informed decision before taking your pet to them. In the short time I worked for them, I witnessed Amari, the only other groomer besides the owner Courtney, abuse and manhandle multiple dogs. Not only in front of me, but I’m front of my 7 year old son who had to come with me to work as well. As the owner of the shop, I expected Courtney to step in - which never happened. I expressed me concerns and quit immediately. As well as filed complaints with the aspca and local animal control agencyIf you’d like video evidence I recorded of the horrible abuse, you can contact me via google mail.

They do a great job with my 2 crazy labs toenail trimming. They use a dremmel and they are really fast. $10/dog and it is worth every penny. What would take me hours takes them a few minutes and the nails look really good. My dogs really like the ladies there too. Super nice!

It was our first visit and the staff was very friendly. My Shih Tzu got a very nice haircut with extra conditioning for his dry skin. More importantly he had a really good time hanging out with the other dogs. I will be back! 🐾🐾

I would not recommend this facility to anyone new moving into the Durango area. In past I have referred several of my neighbors and friends to Dog Gone Gorgeous, however since Darcy is no longer grooming there; due to medical reasons, and Courtney either can't or won't tell people IF Darcy is ever returning... Then I just can't; in good conscience, continue to refer people or continue to utilize their services. 1) The last time I had my two Yorkies groomed, my female came home looking like a powder puff on speed, and neither she or my male Yorkie's nails had been clipped. Furthermore, since Darcy left, I have found that it is nearly impossible to get an appointment that isn't weeks out.... THEN when you ARE finally able to make an appointment, NO ONE is there when you show up!!!! 2) I made an appointment on Monday 4/2/18 with Courtney, to have my son's Yorkie groomed on Monday 4/9/18 @ 5PM; as Courtney could only accommodate 1 Yorkie to be groomed within the two week period I would be in Durango. Knowing I had to be in Ignacio during the afternoon (Monday 4/9) due to a prior obligation, I therefore found it necessary to completely blow off everything else I needed to get done, just in order to insure that I would be at Dog Gone Gorgeous by 5PM... thus I found it necessary to leave Ignacio at 3:30PM in order to drive out to Dalton Ranch, retrieved my son's pet, and then immediately drive directly back into town in order to arrive at Dog Gone Gorgeous by 4:56PM.... But when I arrived the door was locked??? So I called Courtney, only to be told that she had forgot to write down the appointment and I was just SOL because there wasn't anyway she could get the dog in to be groomed the next day... would it really have been so hard NOT to have made the appointment in the 1st place (then I could have at least attempted to find another groomer) or call me and tell me she had changed her mind "rather then decide to just NOT show up"... so I had no other option then to drive back to the house to drop off the dog before I do anything else.... theres just nothing like wasting 2 hours of someone's time..... it wouldn't be so bad, but as a Triple NEG third stage breast cancer patient my time in Durango is limited, as my treatment is taking place in CA because Durango doesn't have a facility that can do Proton Based Radiation... and when I'm here there is allot of stuff I need to handle; things my husband can't get to because he's a federal employee and and commutes to Towaoc M-F.... Obviously good business skills, customer service and dedication to GOOD clients is NO longer of any importance to Courntey .... Darcy is greatly missed and I and puppies will miss her
