We had such a great getaway at Annie’s Mountain Retreat! While it was very cold up in Estes this time of year it was still beautiful up in the mountains and very cozy in the River Cabin. The cabin is rustic and charming. Plenty of towels, stocked kitchen, good sized fridge and an oven/cooktop. They have a collection of movies, books and board games to enjoy and they even have cable! The bed was very comfortable we had no issues sleeping and the private deck and hot tub was amazing, especially with the view of the river!You can tell they have made much needed updates to the property and the cabins. Based on old photos of the river cabin you can tell they put in all new flooring on the main level (no more carpet) and it looks like they updated the shower! New privacy fencing for the cabins, new decks and new concrete steps and retaining wall down to the river. On their website it says the tiny cabin is still under maintenance but you can see it when you walk down to the river and from the outside it looks beautiful. We can’t wait to come back and try out that one!Sadly we didn’t see any wildlife however, down at the river you can clearly see the game trails that come through there and I can imagine how amazing it would be sipping coffee on those decks watching the elk or deer. Again it was too cold for that in the mornings so we will be back for warmer weather!

We just visited for the second time. We stayed in the mountain cabin once in 2018 and then again this year in 2023.I know there has been a change in ownership between these 2 trips.The cabin was great and the same as we remembered it. A note that the bed is quite small for 2 taller, bigger adults. We are 6’2 and 5’9.We love the hot tub and it is very private in the mountain cabin. The other cabins hot tub look out over the river but they are not as private.I did feel like I didn’t want to go down to the river because I didn’t want to wreck the other cabins privacy.The mountain cabin used to have a deck but that is now gone. That was sad for us even in winter we enjoyed coffee on the private deck looking over the river. You could see the river from a tiny skinny part of the yard but you couldn’t sit there and relax. This is the reason I took a star off, if I haven’t had visited before I may not have noticed.Inside is small and cozy and has most of what you need. I do love the cozy robes and extra blankets!

This place is amazing in so many ways. You will not be disappointed with your choice to stay here. We rented the river cabin and I was blown away with how beautiful it was. Was very clean and has everything you need for your stay. Kitchen is stocked with essentials and the bathroom has essentials as well. The hot tub and views from the deck are very beautiful. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I will definitely be back, we stayed in the River Cabin and really enjoyed the back deck with a beautiful view of the river. There was a hot tub, propane fire pit and a variety of chairs and tables. Everything in the cabin was so cute and comfortable.

Star gazing from the hot tub is a must! Rustic, Cozy cabin and decorated perfectly. Annie is very thoughtful in supplying day to day things you wouldn't really want to pack making for a relaxed and convenient vacation getaway. Not far from Estes park.The only reason I give a 4 and not a 5 is because the closeness of cabins and being right on the highway. Its not as secluded as one might think but does have its privacy. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed in the River cabin and absolutely love it. It was very comfortable, and had everything we needed. Annie’s Mountain Retreat is in a beautiful area of the canyon. Even though there are other cabins near by it feels private. We enjoyed the hot tub daily. In the canyon there is no cell reception but this cabin had great WiFi. I would love to stay here again. Checking was a breeze. I did get to meet Aaron and he was so nice.

Love these cabins! This is our 2nd time staying and we’ve stayed in the River & mountain cabin. Love that they have everything you can think of for the kitchen. Only complaint is the mattress in the mountain cabin rolls to the middle of the bed. But not a huge deal! Can’t wait to book again for next winter!

My husband and I booked the Romantic Cottage for two nights. It was the most relaxing, rejuvenating place we could have chosen. Annie has thought of everything to keep her guests happy and taken care of. The cabin was clean and the decor was SO amazing! I've never felt more at home away from my home. The deck had a beautiful view of the river as you can see from my picture. We will stay here again in a heart beat! Thank you for such an amazing cabin getaway.

We had the most fantastic stay! The owners are so kind and gave us all the information we needed to get checked in clearly. The cabin is adorable, welcoming and homey. They have all the stuff you need for a long or short stay. The views were beautiful and the proximity to the river was its own little getaway. We will definitely stay here again and we highly recommend these cabins!

This review is for the romantic cottage. We had a fantastic time here! The views are beautiful the cabin Was clean and in good shape. The cabin is just a few minutes down the road from estes. Making it a perfect location. The hot tub was great and very private no one can see you from The hot tub which was great but you still have a great view of the river.

It is impossible to have an enjoyable stay here with the multiple dogs next door barking constantly. Management has been very responsive with any questions, they are great. But we cannot sleep in past 7:30am or enjoy the hot tub due to the dogs.

Our stay at the Mountain Cabin was beyond what we expected! Everything was perfect from the comfortable couch and clean bathroom with plenty of towels, to the special twinkly lights in the bedroom. We loved having a private outdoor space for privacy to eat meals at and enjoy the view of the mountains. It was perfectly located - not too far from RMNP and less than 10 minutes from Safeway! Our favorite part was spending time in the hot tub at night stargazing after a day of hiking or wandering through the Estes Park shops. We look forward to visiting again!

We stayed for 6 nights in Annie’s cabins. It was an excellent choice. She personally cleans her cabins and welcomes guests. She thought of everything: a hiking bag with snacks, robes, large bath sheets, and even bath salts. She has mountain themed music, and really had a cozy relaxing place to stay. Highly recommend the Romantic Cabin as it sits on the river, and you can enjoy Mountain View’s and step into the river for a refreshing feet treat. We loved staying in her property.

Annie gives her personal touch and it always shines through. I have never had such a great experience on a mini vacation. Ever. She takes the time to ensure that her guests are comfortable and happy. She always gives us privacy while being available for us for any assistance.We had a small hot tub mishap (my fault for not covering it) and she was there right away to resolve it. They were as quiet as a church mouse fixing it and got us up and running right away.Make sure to book early because the word is out! Annie's is the best cabin in Colorado, hands down. And in 20 years of doing business, she's never faltered. She's always consistent and caring. You can tell that she loves her work. She's great at it. Annie's will always and forever be a great getaway and my favorite place to vacation in Co.

While the three cabins are close together, the back deck area is very private with a great. Our cabin had a gas fireplace that would heat up the bedroom in an instant. There were several nice amenities like bathrobes to get out to the hot tub, a fully equipped kitchen and, roses (it was valentines day). A brief conversation with Annie when we arrived explained all the details like light switch locations, hot tub operation, etc. so we did have to guess. We will be back and definitely recommend it to others.

Annie's Mountain Retreat is our absolute favorite place to stay in Estes! The cabins are always so cozy and the decor is perfect. It is like a huge hug when you walk in! This last trip we stayed at the River Cabin and LOVED being able to hear and see the river from the hot tub, so relaxing! As always the cabin itself was spectacular. It is cozy and comfortable and so relaxing. Annie, Steven and Craig are always so kind and helpful. We recommend any of the cabins to all of our friends, family and business contacts. You won't find a more relaxing getaway!

Unexpected Update!:I was contacted by the new owners of Annie's Mountain Retreat in response to my previous review. And while they have just recently taken over the business less than a month ago and this incident happened out of their control, they were determined to make this right. They went back and were able to go through records and find my refund and issued it back to me. I am beyond happy to give a positive update on this and they definitely deserve five stars for the effort they put forth in this matter. We will be keeping them in mind when we finally get our chance to go out west.----Little back story to my experience with this company. I made a reservation and ultimately cancelled within the timeframe due to work schedules not allowing it. I put the deposit down on the room and called to cancel the reservation within the cancellation timeframe and was met with intense questioning as to why I couldn't just move the reservation to later in the year and what I did for work and why it wasn't going to work for the time we booked it. I told Annie I would let her know by the end of the day if I was going to move the reservation. I was told that her husband was the one monitoring emails and corresponding with guests, that night I sent an email letting them know I would like a refund as I would not be moving the reservation date. Still within the timeframe, I received no email back, and no call back when I tried numerous emails and more calls to try and obtain the refund. I was hopeful because of all the great reviews this place has but unfortunately have no desire to go anymore, mostly for the lack of communication and the endless personal questions that I received once I wanted to cancel and not move the date. Since I have still not received any sort of message back from this company so I doubt I will ever see my refund, but I hope it went to good use.

My husband and I have stayed with Annie for a number of years and it is definitely the most relaxing place to go. Annie makes certain her couples are comfortable and if there is any need she is willing to come take of you quickly. Stayed at Annie’s mountain cabin a couple weeks ago; great experience! The cabin is cozy, clean and relaxing. The view of the river is serene. The jacuzzi experience was surprisingly nice in 20 degree weather. Overall, my experience was great! Thanks Annie for the use of your cabin.
