After visiting multiple times and doing research, we decided to add a cocker spaniel pup to our family. The staff at Pet Ranch were great, super informative and so kind! Our little guy got his first vet appointment free, where he got a clean bill of health. Prices aren’t terrible, very comparable to any breeder (I actually know places that sell some pups for WAY more).As far as environment- the multiple times I visited they were clean, happy and I had no concerns (especially coming from working in the animal field). People have to realize- they are puppies. They are not trained. They will go to the bathroom- however the staff was always super quick and attentive at cleaning up messes (both in the kennels and on the pups themselves). They ALWAYS had staff around kennels with an eye on the pups.We received a ton of paperwork with him, microchip info, all health records, ACA registration, parents ACA registration, food, etc etc.Overall- if you are thinking of adding a four legged family member to your family, I would recommend checking Pet Ranch out and forming your own opinion. We had a wonderful experience and our little guy has been an absolute joy!

Went yesterday, and found my Wheaten Terrier! Oh my gosh the best addition to my family. I have seen people complain about pricing, but if you want an AKC Puppy you are going to pay. The staff here is so helpful, and friendly. Thank you Pet Ranch!!!!

Customer service is great. But it is a puppy mill store. A lot of their puppies are mixed breeds that they try to pawn off as limited, hard to find, or exotic breeds that are one of a kind. Hardly any pure breeds or anything more than a very small dog. A lot of the puppies seem to be missing something in their diet because they would completely fight over who would get to eat the poop that the other dog just had. Pretty disgusting cages and smells. They do walk around just spraying air freshener randomly.

Best experience getting our new baby. We walked in just for fun with 0 intentions on actually getting a puppy but we saw that they had dachshunds and fell in love immediately. We were just curious about her and asked a few questions about payments and a few hours later we walked out with her! The staff is amazing and catered to our every need from checking on us while filing paper work to giving us a step by step break down on how to best care for our new puppy at home. Ps. The manager Elizabeth is the best and we would not have our little baby if it wasn’t for her! Coco is doing great with us and is loving her new beautiful home. <3

If I could leave no stars I would. I got a dog from here and it was really sick. Makes me sick to think how horribly they treat them. They don't guarantee them either. They really should shut down. It's just a puppy mill. Be careful.

The Pet Ranch is honestly the best pet store I’ve ever been in and I recently bought my adorable poodle, Beastie, from here. She’s a riot, but I love her to pieces! If your looking for a happy and healthy puppy, Pet Ranch is the place to go.I’ve visited the Pet Ranch several times and I’m never disappointed. The staff is very friendly and everything is clean. The staff gave me some great pointers when I purchased my puppy and all of the puppies are very cute, clean, friendly, and happy.There’s also a variety of puppies to choose from, and if they don’t have the puppy you’re looking for they will put you on a wish list and call you when they have your preferred puppy.

So I’m leaving a positive review because I know how people feel about pet shops.I was skeptical at first, but our new addition is happy, thriving and worth every penny we spent.He did come home with a small cold, probably from being around all the other puppies. But as Pet Ranch promised they covered any medications needed at the 1st free check up they provide. His cold cleared right up after treatment and he’s doing great with no issues. Our experience was a good one, so I wanted to reassure anyone who is thinking of purchasing from Pet Ranch. We are happy and more than satisfied with our new furry family member. Thank you Pet Ranch!

The manager/owner and the employees were very conscientious and involved. Those pets old enough to socialize played together in a pen with other appropriate breeds, looking very happy and healthy. I had just come in for licks because my dear dog had recently passed. I tell myself that I did not have a pet purchase in mind, but this little sweetheart had my heart immediately after he snuggled into my neck. For some unfathomable reason, he did not obtain a home as quickly as the other pets, and one staff member told me she would walk around and hold him towards the end of the shift to ensure he was having ample human contact. After deliberation, I came back a week later, and he was still there.Their extra services were amazing: guarantees, a vet checkup, and an identification chip to start the adoption. I brought my pal into my home in 2017, and he is still very healthy and a wonderful part of my life.

I'm only giving this place one star because I feel like I dodged a giant bullet today. So to the woman who said I couldn't enter the store with my dog because they had dogs in the store with Kennel Cough I say thank you for not allowing me and my dog in the store.Given the long history I'm seeing in the comments of disease and sickness I'm glad I didn't expose my new 6 month old rescue pup to this environment. So thank you for that.However the main reason I am taking away 4 stars is while the woman did warn me why my rescue pup wasn't allowed she also made no attempt to help me find any products I needed.I have never been to this brick and mortar pet store before and this was the moment for them to aquire a new customer. In that moment the sales associate failed. Again I do appreciate her not allowing us into the store and exposing my pup to God knows what. But all she had to do was step outside with me and ask me what I was looking for and then sold me a product while I waited outside. I literally went out of my way to go to this location. Shame on me for not checking the rating and reviews. Wasted my time and no amount of apologies can give me back that time I took to visit this store.So to recap DO NOT being your dog to this store. In hindsight I should have checked first but it's pretty bad when your greated with "we have kennel cough" at the door and your can't come in. So if you must visit this store do not bring your dog with you.Last but not least in an age where I can pull out my phone and about 5 minutes order anything to arrive in 1 to 5 days at my front door you'd think brick and mortar stores would be hungry to fight for business. Especially a small store like this. Sure I don't expect great service at the big box pet store but they didn't tell me to go away when I showed up with my dog after leaving this location.And yes dogs get sick. Fact of life. But desease can be controlled. Which doesn't seem to be the case here. Customer service and basic sales problem solving were almost completely absent in my experience today. Hell the woman could have said call us and we will help you with your order while you wait outside and we will bring your pup a treat too. I'm not even in let supply sales and I have enough common sense to know that would have made me a customer for life.I really hope this place takes these comments and applies them. I want small business to thrive in our community. But I won't go out of my way again to visit this store.

Me and my boyfriend went in here to find a new wheel for our hamster. Of course on the way to the back where the hamster supplies is located we stoped to look at the puppies. Most of the dogs where “asleep” me and my boyfriend tried our hardest to wake them up and when they wouldn’t we asked to worker what was wrong with them. She claimed the puppies were “tired”. After this we went to the back for what we came for. On the back wall they have hamsters in about 5 gallon tanks. Mind you these hamsters are abnormally large and sickly looking. in one of these tanks they had 5 hamsters. no food, one house that was too small to even fit onelet alone five. After we had seen this the next cage we looked at had 3 hamsters, two of them where fighting we heard them screaming. They stoped fighting and the one was not moving. It was very hurt. Out of concern we tell a worker what we had seen. she then nonchalantly says " i will go look" we wait there for the worker to come back and she never does. This place is absolutely in humane and disgusting. please stop supporting places like this.

I got my first puppy from Thornton Pet Ranch over 10 years ago now. I was so in love that I went back a year later and got my second puppy from them. My girls are the absolute best, and came with their AKC paperwork and health records. Today they are still as sassy and as healthy as ever. My partner and I have been talking about getting a puppy at some point in the future, and i immediately thought of Thornton Pet Ranch....10 years later I still would come back here based on the experience I had back then and the love I've shared with my girls since.

I understand that the employees are not the happiest, cleaning after puppies all day. However, they are straight up rude there, they bang the cages really loud and give you the ugliest stares. Just adopt a pupper!

Purchased my first very own (not a family shared pet) puppy here. I didn't not intend on buying when I went in but they let you hold and play with them. Needless to say, I fell completely in love with my little Tallulah.She cost a lot more than what I was expecting but, she came already micro-chipped and sent us home with a bag of puppy food.They have many different breeds to choose from. The staff is friendly and helpful.On our way home, my little fur ball threw up in the car. I chalked it up to motion sickness. She also started to not eat and was sleeping a lot. I chalked that up to her being in a new environment. I brought her to Adams County Animal Hospital for her free exam, etc. and it turns out my baby was really sick.The staff and owner of Pet Ranch were very compassionate and helped walk me through what needed to be done. If I ever purchase another pet, I will definitely go back to Pet Ranch.I am happy to report that Tallulah is well and thriving! Best purchase of my life!Adams County is a great place to take your pet by-the-way. They take great care of your furry family member and are very upfront and give realistic expectations.

Edited: We had such a great experience at Pet Ranch that we just went back to get our second puppy, Magnolia (Maggie). She's healthy and happy and we had another smooth purchase with Pet Ranch. They partner with local vets, and offer a pretty good health guarantee as long as you take your pup to the vet right away. 5 stars all around.Original post: We stopped in here on a whim. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We ended up with a Hava-tzu puppy that stole our hearts, and we've had her for a couple years now. She is perfectly healthy, and came from reputable breeders. The prices here are very fair, and they also do have sales periodically.

They just had two more puppies stolen after one was stolen in February. Obviously they did not take precautions. If the two puppies die ( they need medication) the blood is on their hands! Don’t frequent this place!

Pretty sad. I saw reviews calling it a “puppy mill” and I would say our experience confirmed that.We were actually just looking for a hamster. When I called ahead of time they said they have “hamsters galore,” but only had a few.The stench in the store was really bad. Close to 50 puppies in small bins.

Went here today to look at puppies, and there was this poor golden retriever who was pooping blood and I noticed and told a worker because that’s obviously a sign or a problem and she said ok and cleaned it up like nothing happened. absolutely sickening and these animals are all victims of puppy mills please please please help these animals someone.

the boston terrier puppy looked very i’ll he was extremely small and frail and the employees clean the cages with bleach while the dog is still inside the crate this very disgusting to see. they try to keep up with the cleanliness of the store and it still stink very bad and the dogs come from puppy mills after doing my research i don’t recommend.

We asked for discount cs we wasn’t expecting to be all the prices doubled from the last year and people in the shop give us a very generous discount. So blessed to have this little puppy at home 🐾 💜

I wouldn't listen to people that are saying these dogs come from dog mills. That is 100% untrue. Most of these dogs are purebred with AKC papers. Every dog that my family has gotten from them is 100% in health, and we have never had any issues with any of the dogs. I got all AKC paperwork from them as well as AKC themselves, showing all my dogs bloodlines which were surprisingly high quality. My own personal dog is an english bulldog named Sir Winston Chunkhill. I purchases Winston for nearly $3000 which is common for a purebred english bulldog. When we first met Winston at the store he was in with another EB from a different liter. They kept the kennel closed because picking up EB can hurt since they are so chunky. They consider the dogs first, and always have. One of the reasons why they do not allow young children to pick up the dogs, is because a child had dropped one of the puppies and it broke its leg. it's a safety rule, they are trying to keep the puppies safe! If you don't like that, do not go in, and do not take your children if they cannot listen to the rules. Kids are allowed to pet... not pick up. (Good rule). I didn't allow my daughter who is 9 to pick up any of the dogs, she did just fine. As far as the staff, they are constantly watching, which is good because it get's chaotic watching 20+ people picking up dogs. It may seem like they are ignoring you, but they are watching carefully and that is understandable since some of the pups are $2000+. I observed them constantly picking up after the dogs, I didn't see a single dirty kennel in there, nor was there any smells for long because they clean up right away. I noticed that someone said they sit in their own pee and poop... that's untrue, the pee and poop fall through the kennel into a tray... the dogs can't even touch the tray. They care very deeply about the dogs, and that's why I have come to them for all our dogs. I understand adopting/rescue is great I have done that a few times in my life as well... but I wanted a purebred EB and Winston is beyond perfect and HEALTHY. Every time we go to the vet it takes us so long to even get to the counter as EVERYONE has to meet him. He is a therapy dog, so he loves on everyone and vice versa. I wouldn't trade him for the world! So all of you out there saying these are puppy mill dogs... you are incorrect, I have the papers for ALL the dogs we have gotten from here for members of my family.. not a single one of them is. I will be returning in the future to look for another EB for my Winston. <3 <3 <3 Thank you for such wonderful dogs.

We used to come here so I could get a puppy fix, and we came and found our FOREVER fur baby! We love her, the staff was helpful and kind. We were given food, her parents information and her pedigree certificate along with a bag of dog food and potty training tips. They not only help you find your forever fur baby but they set you up for success with your new family member. If we decide Coco needs a buddy we will definitely be returning to Pet Ranch!
