I used to think fish were boring pets...but after a few visits to this store, my mind was changed. They have a great variety of fish..and reptiles...birds..and puppies!! My dog likes the chew toys. The staff really knows their product if you wanna call it that. They just don't sell you fish and let you be on your own. They have everything for your purchase. There's no fish napping in the tanks unlike at other pet stores. I really like this store and you will too.

This little shop has more options than it looks like from the front, from fish and puppies, to snakes and frogs. There is something new every time I go inside. I got my dog from here and he was a happy and healthy pup. The staff answered all my questions quickly and politely during the whole process.There is some paperwork that takes a minute to fill out when adopting, but that is to be expected.

Amazing staff that truly care for the creatures they keep! I can't speak for the dog side of things, as I'm a fish guy myself, but I've purchased almost all of my fish, snails, and supplies from them! The staff is super friendly, their fish are very happy, the snails are healthy and full of energy, and they have a great selection of supplies for keeping your tank in great shape! If this same level of love and care is going into their dogs (which I'm sure it is), I'm certain that the fuzzier friends are just as content here! I'd give them six stars if I could!

If I could give 100 stars I would. You guys are absolutely amazing and I appreciate the kind customer service you gave today. You help answer my questions and I walked out of the store with some beautiful new babies ( some skittles shrimps, a mystery snail, and some beautiful aquatics plants) The store is so clean and all the animals, reptiles, fish, bugs, etc are well taken care of and are very loved by the employees. You have definitely just earned a customer for life! Thank you so much!

This store gets better every time I get a chance to visit. They sell an excellent selection of amphibians and reptiles. Fish are well cared for and often rarer or special. Great selection of nano species as well as regular favorites. Left with a school of 10 pygmy corydoras. It also seems the medaka craze has hit there. Some nice redcaps I would love to have but my tank has too high flow! Staff,of course, is helpful and friendly but also knowledgeable which is important to ensure animals will go to a good home.

We had been talking about getting a little brother for our 1 year old Yorkichon. We had done quite a bit of research and a Havichon was one of the breeds we thought would be good. We came into Aquatic dog to look at fish and lo and behold there was a perfect Havichon puppy in the store. The person we talked to was knowledgeable about the dogs history and when all of that checked out it only took about ten minutes to complete the adoption. The paperwork was explained clearly but we were in the middle of running a friend to the airport so asked to get the puppy on the way back. Aqua Dog graciously allowed this. When we came back we were told “You bought him so go grab him.” That part felt a little unpolished but not enough to tarnish a 5 star rating. Our two pups are so happy together now, and we are so happy to have found out little Lux :)

This place is awesome! I blame them entirely for my recent obsession with all things freshwater fish. The owner and employees are so wonderful; they are entirely responsible for keeping my critters alive and healthy with their advice. They get unique, healthy aquatic life that you can't find anywhere else and are great about educating. Given how beautiful the animals and how clean the tanks/store, prices are shockingly reasonable/fair. In talking to others... this place is well known among the serious aquarium people and considered a jewel in the Denver area. If you are a newbie... only visit if you are prepared to fall in love with the underwater world. Enter this friendly, clean, gorgeous little store at your own risk : )

The woman with brown hair refused to give her name. She said she was the owner of the store. She grabbed the fish with her bare hands and ripped it off the glass. She told me it was a easy fish to take care of. She assured me it would do great. The fish sunk to the bottom of the tank the first day. I had let her know and she told me it was a very hard fish to care for. She NEVER notified me the policy was changed and refused to do anything. She told me i had to grow up and own up to my actions. She was very rude and also told me I was causing problems and she had others to help. I have been going here for 3 years and I am shocked she spoke to me so rude. Please check the cameras to see and hear how she acted. I came in on 12/10/23 and called on 12/12/23 and 12/16/23.

More than just guppies in a bowl, this fish haven is a sexy symphony of scales and bubbling tanks. The staff is as nice as the neon tetras, always helpful to guide you through the aquatic wonderland. ✨🐠

I cannot thank Greg & Sheila enough for helping us get our dream pup! We are absolutely OBSESSED with this little angel! We approached Aquatic Dog over the summer to inquire about Corgi's and it just so happened they were expecting some Corgi puppies the next month from one of the breeders they work with! Aquatic Dog provided all of her paperwork (boosters she'd already gotten, paperwork on her mom, etc.) AND they paid for our first trip to the Vet to get her checked out! They also set us up with all the essentials: collar, leash, toys, food, treats, crate, dog bed, etc. They were extremely helpful and we'll forever be grateful! Thank you for making our dream a reality!

Do not buy from this fish store. We’ve been going here for the last 3 years recently. They underwent new management and would not honor their prior policy of being able to return the fish. If it died the same day, I spoke to a lady that represented herself as the owner, but would not give her name. She was very rude and condescending and told me that, she could not help me. Even after I insisted on talking to the owner or the manager to explain about the associate grabbing the fish with her bare hands prior to putting it into the bag for purchase. She refused to listen to us. And was speaking very condescending to my daughter when she was explaining their conversation prior to the sale. She had told her that the fish was easy to take care of and would do well in her tank but when she called back to share that the fish had died she changed her story and stated that it was a very hard fish to take care of when I called back and shared her experience instead listening she told her to “grow up and own up to her actions” why would a fish store say this to a customer? Never buy from a store that does not treat its customers or pets with respect.

I picked up some gold dojo loaches here. Within a week 3 of the 4 of them died from what appeared to be some sort of fungal infection. I essentially payed almost $64 dollars for one fish and am pretty disappointed with the experience.Edit: The water in my tank is fine as it's been running a while with no deaths. After further research and consultation with a community of aquarists the issues that appeared to be fungal was actually bacterial and the fact that the fish started dying about 48 hours after I got them tells me the highly contagious columnaris bacteria was likely to blame. Many believe this bacteria is in all aquariums and only unhealthy fish who's immune systems are too weak to fight it off succumb to it. I will not be shopping here in the future.

I can not talk highly enough about Aquatic Dog. Everyone here is amazing and knows what they are talking about. I worked here for a little bit over a year and it was honestly one of the best jobs I had ever had. The owners are incredibly sweet and Maggs is incredible. I tell everyone I know to go here if they are looking for fish or a new little friend, this is the best place to go. All animals are more than well taken care of, I promise. <3

This place is amazing! I loved the previous owners but the new ones are pretty great too. My only negative is that they don't offer any type of refund policy on fish if they die within the first couple days... I've owned fish for almost 30 years and it's standard practice to guarantee them for a few days. The previous owners would require a water sample which I think is fair. Fix this issue and it is the best shop around!

Came in today and was looking at their reptiles. ALL of the snakes are underweight and living in the incorrect habitats. Ball pythons on aspen bedding with no water and only a heat lamp. (None of the reptiles had water) ALL of the snakes are also malnourished, all of their spines are showing, and are a triangle shape. The iguana they have, all it's spikes are laying flat showing its In poor health. One of the ball pythons was in shed also had a respiratory infection and possible mouth rot.Beautiful snakes just being left to die by careless people.Why even have them if youre not going to care for them.Wont be going back. Thought I had found a shop in close proximity to me that was reliable but I've just watched these beautiful reptiles decline in health the last few times I've been in.May contact authorities to try and get these reptiles the proper care they deserve. You can't "love all animals" but exclue the ones that don't have fur.

I got my beta from here and he's grown so much and is so healthy! I chose aquatic dog because they don't keep thier betas in tiny cups like other stores that sell betas, and I think that's really helped with his long term health. I will be back for another one soon!

So I've been coming here for a while now an I've been getting my Dwarf puffer fish from this store an everything has been good until I called today so i got two more puffers like 3 days ago today I noticed one was missing an found him dead so i called the store to see what they could do the lady picked up an was Extremely rude an said sorry we don't give money back on live Animals an I didn't even ask for My money back The fish wasn't expensive to begin with, but that's not the point It's the customer service she gave an acted like I was wrong for asking what my options where and yes it's a small business yes but stil can't Treat customers like that

Excellent selection of freshwater fish. Best in the city. I enjoy keeping very exotic fish and this shop always has them in stock or can special order anything! Great customer service also. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
