If you're looking for a place to stay with some history, this is it! My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel St. Nicholas. We reserved the infamous room #11 hoping to experience some of its past occupants. Although we didn't have any personal experiences worth making note of, we really enjoyed our stay. The gentleman working the check in counter, I apologize for not getting his name, was very friendly and took some time to give us a quick tour detailing the Hotel's history. We visited the boiler room tavern before heading off to bed where the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming - the bartender was very friendly, and the drinks were GREAT! 5/5, we'd recommend!

My wife and I stayed here a few years ago when the casinos started opening back up after covid. It is a very unique hotel with a spooky history. It was featured on one of those ghost hunter tv shows a while back. They play that episode on a loop in the hotel bar. One of the rooms that is most haunted was the operating room when it was a hospital. Definitely haunted. I would recommend it to everyone, especially if you like haunted places.

This is such a great place to stay. The history alone sets St. Nicholas Hotel above the others. Billy keeps the Hotel spotless and the rooms. The charm will overwhelm you. Must stayRooms: The rooms ate true to old times warm bright and comfortable

Stayed two nights, in September of 2023, in the deluxe king suite with the sun room. What a great find; the place is jewel! The old building is quite interesting. It’s like stepping back in time, but with modern comforts. Our room was clean, had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant. The location is within walking distance to the local casinos and restaurants. There is also shuttle service available from the hotel to the casinos. The staff is friendly and inviting. We highly recommend staying at this hotel when visiting Cripple Creek.

If really old, really creaky loud floors and drafty windows is your thing, this is the place for you to stay!! Very old hotel, lots of history, guess my mistake for expecting a little more. Cleanliness wasn't an issue, however make plans to go get breakfast, as what they offer leaves lots to be desired.

Not my cup of tea, but my boss got me a room here when I was in town for work. The owner really puts his heart into this place, probably because it's also his house. A real owner occupied B&B is becoming a rare thing nowadays. Rustic AF, but clean and well appointed. Good cable TV service for my SVU enjoyment and real coffee with real half & half in suite. Cold breakfast options available along with wider coffee and tea selections. If this was the type of place I was looking for, I don't think I could do any better.

We stayed at Hotel St. Nicholas last week - what a warm and inviting place - such history - it felt like staying at Grandmother's!! Clean room - spacious! Most comfortable bed we slept in all week! Absolutely charming hotel - friendly and knowledgeable staff! Just a great place! Wish we could have stayed longer! We will return!! Highly recommend!!

If you are looking for a unique experience in a historic building this is for you. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. However, floors creak, a lot of rooms don't have their own bathrooms or showers and everything feels cramped. Relative to the rest of Cripple Creek the price seemed reasonable but at the same time I think it is too expensive for what you get.

This is a tough review - is it a fun place to hang out? Absolutely. Would I stay here? Nope. The hotel is super old and has a great look but I don't think I'd want to stay the night here. The folks at the place are really nice and it seems like a clean place, but apparently it's pretty haunted so I'd have to pass. We had a great time at the bar and playing pool in the lounge. We'll certainly be back for the chill night life!

Great views from our room, comfy atmosphere throughout the entire hotel, rich history with the added benefits ofNearby activities: Visit the ice castles 🏰 exhibit in the winter (get tickets early-it sells out fast!) and don't forget to bring carrots & celery for the resident donkeys of Cripple Creek. Also take a side trip over to Victor to see Rita the Rock Planter!Food & drinks: Visit the hotel bar, The Boiler Room. Cozy atmosphere, and a local favorite!

From the time we arrived to the time we left, the experience was special. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist, shown to our room and he explained everything about the hotel; how it used to be a hospital, the large room on the main floor has a pool table and an awesome piano. One of the staff was kind enough to play for a while and he was most excellent!! The place even has a comfy bar with sports on the TV. The rooms are large and the window provides sunlight as well as a nice view. It's a short walk down a hill to town but remember... you have to walk back up the hill afterwards. They also have free parking which is a bonus!!

One of the coolest spots and hotels you could imagine. Truly the Christmas spirit there is unmatched. If in cripple creek stop by for a drink at very least! The staff and local vibe here is truly family like and treat you like one of their own. This made my holiday staying here. Would be back and recommend 100%!! I’ll stay here again for sure! Thank you to everyone who took care of us and took us in for Dylan’s bday!!

This place is great if you love old historic buildings with lots of stories and history. The staff are so friendly and inviting, it didn't even feel like a business it was so comfy. There's a tavern, they had karaoke, a parlor with a pool table,a little gift shop a breakfast area with a keurig coffee maker, they even have a small continental like breakfast. Not to mention the beds are super comfy and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here....Thank you!! We are definitely going back!

Excellent place to stay in Cripple Creek. They had last minute availability, took time to give us a tour and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We even left a kindle behind and they shipped it to us the next day. If you're concerned about not having a casino attached, there are shuttles that run. Very easy to arrange. Highly recommend, we will stay here again!!

A wonderful hotel away from the casinos but within walking distance to them. The man who manages the hotel was just a joy. He gave me a tour of the building, showing me the lounge, the breakfast area, the little store with the works of local artists. My room was small but very clean and well-organized. The bed was firm and not like one of those beds that feels like a million people have already slept on it. Just a pleasure.

Hate to say how DELIGHTFUL this hotel, as well as the host and bartender, was because I want to to be able to book in the future without it being sold out. Loved the history and atmosphere of this little gem. Had an Old Fashion from the bar and it was one of the best I’ve had! The Boiler Room bar and the piano room was super chill and very cool. Loved that there was a pool table in the lounge. We visit Cripple Creek several times a year (Fall foliage drive, Fall and Winter plays/olio at the Butte Theatre) and I will never stay anywhere but here when I’m in Cripple Creek.

Didn't stay but 5 stars given as we were welcome to look around and take photos. For the excellent care taken to keep this historic piece in fine condition. For the ambience of a bygone era. For the spirits that have been reported to be present. Though we didn't experience any this time. We were staying at the Century but will try the St Nicholas next time when in Cripple Creek. There is a small lounge to have a drink and a nosh. Thank you for accepting us.

The Hotel Saint Nicholas isn't just a place to spend the night, it's truly one of those rare places where the adventure begins when you pull up to the hotel. The hotel staff is welcoming, the rooms quaint, clean and historic. The floors squeak, the furniture period appropriate, the beds comfortable, the history real. The Boiler Room Lounge a great gathering place, the larger lounge and the live entertainment added to our adventure. Ghosts...we didn't find any, but looking for them topped off our visit. If you are looking for a five star resort this isn't your place, if your looking to make a memory, welcome home. I'll be back!

We got a booking last minute (day of) and luckily they had one more space left! We were housed in the Handicapped room bc it had not been booked out and it was amazing! Very spacious and clean. Comfortable bed and atmosphere. Loved the concept of being old timey and classic. Nothing like I had ever experienced before. The one staff member we interacted with was very helpful and accommodating, he let us know of the ins and outs of the property. A light breakfast is included each morning you stay as long as you turn in your order the night before!I had an relative stay here previously and she said she did have to share a bathroom, I had not seen any shared bathrooms or any other rooms so I cannot say much else about that room amenity. So I would recommend doing research thoroughly before booking, if that is not something you are comfortable with.

We've stayed here twice in the last couple of months. It's very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Each room is unique, which is fun. The beds are comfortable, which is important! :) The owners are wonderful and very hospitable. I've stayed in a couple of other non-casino places in Cripple Creek, and this is by far my favorite place. There's a nice main room with a fireplace and pool table, plus a small but might art gallery with some amazing pieces of stained glass windows, jewelry, and metal work. It's a great place! Highly recommend!!!

Dark & mysterious, vintage & inviting, colorful & delightful. The floors creak, the doors whine & the history whispers. The St. Nicholas is kept very clean because the people that work here love this place! There is an on-site bar which some of some of the locals say, is the coolest bar in Cripple Creek. Plus there is a gathering space equipped with musical equipment & a billards table.I enjoyed my experience here immensely.
