We went in to town for the Ice Castles, so the location of this hotel is perfect. Plenty of covered parking and walking distance to everything else. We aren't very picky travelers, but there are few things that made this stay not terribly enjoyable. The rooms are very outdated, which is not a huge deal for us, but it was very dark and dingy feeling, and had a bit of a musty smell which made the first impression not great. Although the weather was somewhat cold, the rooms and the hotel itself were unbearably warm. We even turned the temperature way down in our room and didn't sleep at all because we felt like we were in a sauna. Also, the television in the room would only play one channel. No matter what we did with the remote, we couldn't change it to anything else. Not that we are spending a ton of time watching tv in our room, but when getting ready for the day or after winding down from the day, it would have been nice to not have to watch the same episodes on the same channel over and over again, especially since we were up so late unable to sleep due to the extremely warm room. The staff was very nice, but I did feel bad for the bartenders as it seemed like there were only two people working the entire two level casino floor, and two people can't possibly give great service to an entire casino. They did a great job, but I could visibly see the stress on their faces. All in all the stay was ok, and going into it I felt as though we got a decent deal on the room with the location being our main factor, but after it was said and done, I was very disappointed that we paid what we paid for the experience that we had.Rooms: Old, dark, dingy, too hot, tv's only have one channel that barely works

My husband almost got bit by a dog, and the casino people blamed him. Saying that he shouldn't have tried to pet the dog...he didn't. They sided with the local woman whose partner works there. If you have a dog that tends to bite, it should not be brought into such an establishment. What happened to "listen to the customer"...he had no reason to lie! Why the heck are animals allowed in a casino in the first place. It was so dark and not very happy service in the casino anyway. We won't likely go back there again. Especially when the casino manager didn't believe him, too many other places to visit down the block. I was so disappointed 😞, made me upset for the rest of the day.

The Double Charge you Eagle, if I could, No stars for this place 0!!! Do not waste your hard earned money here unless you want to be double charged or overcharged, go to Bronco Billy’s or anywhere else in town! Rooms are bad stanky (they stink bad bad) obviously has not been undated in many years, toilets run, no water pressure, barely tv, you will find peoples leftover food in the chairs! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The stank of the hallways and rooms you will be charged for, you’ve been warned. House keeping will dig through your trash looking for anything to charge you with, you’ve been warned. Do not stay here. A poorly run business!! They are total( Thieves ) you’ve been warned!! 🤢🤮

This had no reason to not be a 5 star rating but one person ruined the experience. We arrived early and we knew it, we asked about checking in but the rooms were not ready. No problem as that was expected. We were told that 4 was check in time but we could check back at 3. We went and had lunch, walked the town and lost some money gambling. All good, enough time had passed and it was 3:30, we went back to check in and there were three people behind the counter, in the center was the woman that we talked to earlier, she was the only sitting so easy to spot. We also saw people checking in with the other two ladies at the desk. We went to check in with the same lady we had spoken to earlier and we were told that the rooms were not ready and to come back at 4. That seemed odd since we saw other people checking in but okay, we came back at 4, same story, rooms not ready come back in half an hour, same woman at the desk in the middle sitting down, she spoke down to us and was quite rude. She pointed to the "checkin at 4 sign" at the counter. We asked for a manager twice but she refused. We stayed close and continued to watch as others were getting checked in. I flagged down a lady that I had seen at the desk and asked her to simply verify that our rooms were not ready. She said that she would check. She came back in a few minutes, walked us to the desk and we were checked in by a different lady at the counter. All good. We were having a great time and everyone was super friendly and accommodating except for that one woman at the desk. Why she was mean and angry we will probably never know but she was certainly not the type of person that every other staff member in the hotel, restaurant and casino was like. We had a wonderful time despite the actions of that one woman. Next time we are in Cripple Creek we would not hesitate to go back to the Double Eagle but will never forget how our visit was marred while repeatedly trying to check in by one angry employee at the checkin desk. Once again, everyone else that we interacted with was a joy to work with.Rooms: After a difficult time trying to check in we were taken care of and made it to our rooms. They were clean, quiet and everything worked in the room as expected.Nearby activities: Lots to do but gambling is the main draw.Food & drinks: Restaurant in the casino was top notch with a great staff

Everything was great. Rooms were your standard casino room. They did take pets so that is a plus. Nothing was disappointing. We had a good time there. Staff was great.Rooms: Pet are allowed.Walkability: All the casinos and sights are within walking distance.

Have always stayed here. Not anymore. Can't get points cause the readers on the machines don't work. So forget getting your room comped. No free breakfast for staying here. No coffee machine in room. Some TV channels have no sound..No maid service.Just over all sad.

So let me start by saying eveyone at the hotel was very kind and polite to me and my kids. It was very close to the ice castles and they had a pretty good restaurant on site.But the room was pretty crummy. Supposedly had satellite TV but I believe there was only 5 channels that were satellite, 2 without sound. And the Wi-Fi was basically nonexistent. In terms for a family spending time in the hotel room it just wasn't very fun

We stopped in here specifically to eat. The food was okay, not bad but not great. Service in the restaurant was great though. Also, they keep kids on the tile because they can't be on the carpet (which to me seems extreme). I understand license or fear of losing but crazy. Not even Vegas is that bad lol. Also, I was carded after the kids were asked to stand on the tile and after a few minutes of conversation (which is great because I must look young). I get carded in Cripple Creek multiple times though so I'll take it. But one person carded people asked a group of people to step on the tile while she carded them AFTER walking by another lady saying "are you 21?" but never carded her. How is it fair to move a group of people to the tile to card them while ASSUMING they are underage BUT not even carding the first lady you looked at and only asked if she was 21 (both done by the same woman)? Sounds like it's a pick and choose if you want to card them and an honor system for some people in the casino.

Very very sad. From the pubes, pee n trash in the bathroom to the broken blow dryer and no coffee pot. It's all just sad.Also, 1 machines tilted on me, another has no receipt paper for my print out. In order to get help we summoned help and this took 30 min each to correct. My partners hand pays took long...long time. Turns out if you want a drink you need to get the maintenance man to help tho fearful to make a cocktail offering a beer instead.Sad loss of money. In my opinion they should close doors. Nice manager tho

Worst casino in cripple creek. I was a high roller spending thousands at this bed bug infested disgusting hotel. My girlfriend woke up in middle of night to a bed bug on her. Then the staff had no apology at all. Rumor is they are going out of business and not paying jackpots anymore. Save you money and safety and go to other casinos…not worth you family getting sick from all the bugs here. WORST HOTEL AND BUGS ARE ON THE MACHINES!! Be caregful!!

Went for our anniversary and got a complimentary gift, which was nice. We booked the Jr. Suite. Room was clean and we enjoyed the view. TV has only 10 channels and all come in poor, so bring your entertainment for when you are in your room. Note to those who have pet dander allergies: pets are allowed, so you may show allergy symptoms while in your room.Food & drinks: The restaurant in the hotel seemed sad, so we ate dinner somewhere else. We did get some fries later in the evening and brought them to our room. Fries were good enough. Kitchen is open until 10pm.

This casino used to be a good casino all-around. However in the past years it has really went downhill with no sights of them trying to update.Hotel Rooms: 1-star at most, as they are 100% almost identical to staying at a Motel 6. Beds are old and worn, hard, and bedding is rough, pillows are horrible. The rooms are worn down with FILTHY floors, holes in walls, missing wall art pieces, outdated bathrooms, and entire room is depressing for having to spend $130+ for a one night stay.Casino: 2-stars they have 2 levels of gaming floors with old and newer games, but the games are the tightest games you may ever play. You don't ever get any credits to even play back - it's always take take take. There are NO table games and no poker room.Players Club: 1-star absolutely no point for this club as only serves this property and you do not get any type of rewards no matter how much you play.Food: 1-star the casino only offers one restaurant with less than mediocre food, bad service, and high prices. Do not recommend eating here.Drinks: Cocktail Servers - do they have any? You don't get service while gambling on the floors.The ONLY 5-star part of the entire property is there long time bartender named ROCKY she is absolutely amazing, provides excellent service and has since she was running the bar when they had a poker room open in Gold Creek Casino (which has been closed down for many years). She deserves a raise!

This is a beautiful Casino at the top of a great strip of quality casinos, our room had a beautiful city view, very clean looking, the bartender was working the entire floor alone but still made sure we had our drink orders taken care of as well as pizza, popcorn, and very good quality adult beverages all free all night, We were able to play for hours on just a few dollars my kind of Fun didn't really win or lose but enjoyed ourselves, we played so much our meal the next day was comped up to $50 that waitstaff and host in the restaurant were also very nice as was the norm from all staff from the security, to the hotel check in women at the desk to the cashier KICH Radio Sizzle Reviews Approved #TheVoiceofSCCW

This hotel is ironically similar to the City. Old and dying. It's been a while since I've been to Cripple Creek. Lots of empty stores, looks like a ghost town. Apparently, the hotel is having trouble hiring enough workers. Seems like there is only one bartender at a time. It looks old and not well maintained. Prices are surprisingly high for what you get. The whole place could use a makeover, however, I doubt that would happen because I see them making a lot of money. Maybe it gets busier during the weekend. Very few ppl, mostly older ppl. BTW do something about the WiFi, so disappointing!

We always stay here but we had reservations a few weeks back and they cancelled on us due to smoke alarm issues and got them fixed the same day and never called us back. Had to scramble to find rooms for everyone for a 21st Birthday Party. We reached out to management and never received a call back!! Bronco Billy's New Hotel opens soon!!!

Best barista style coffee in Cripple Creek, art show, lots of really nice items to buy.Walkability: We parked at top level of the Double Eagle parking garage, power doors auto open, ramp to mezzanine floor of the casino and coffee via elevator or very nice stairs down to street level.One of only Few coffee spots on Bennett Avenue in Cripple Creek easily accessed without going through casino area.

I usually do good in casinos but this is the first one I did not do good at…. But I’m giving it 5 stars because of the lady at the front desk. Her name is Wendy and she is AWESOME! She was incredibly nice and if it wasn’t for her and her hospitality we would not have stayed there. We called every hotel and they were either all booked or they were over $200. We called the double Eagle and she answered and said they were all booked but to call back in 30 min. When we showed up she said she had been thinking of us all night it was just a great night and she put the cherry on top. If the management reads this.. wendy is definitely a keeper and we believe she deserves a raise due to be such an amazing employee there. We hope to see her again when we come and we are going to see if our review got her the raise because she truly does deserve it! We checked out around 10am and then realized that I have left my tie dye hoodie hanging in the bathroom. We went to the front desk and told them about our situation and the lady at the front desk gave me an extra key to go check the room for it but it was already cleaned by housekeeping. Housekeeping was cleaning the next room over and I asked if they had a lost and found and said yes they do and she would ask her manager about it. The manager said no and so then we went back downstairs to the front desk and also checked our car for it. So we went back inside and talked to a different lady and also told her the situation and she called over the radio and asked the same 2 houses keepers about the hoodie and the response was still no. She took my name and number down but I doubt they will call me because I know for a fact that whoever cleaned our room in 232 took my hoodie. Hope you like Mod Sun.

I had spent some time in here with no waitress coming by. Then on my way out, a nice elderly gentleman stops and asus if I need a drink. I ordered and the man was just as nice and polite again when he brought my drink to me. We visited for a bit which was very nice Since I have just moved here. I also dealt with a cashier named Norris I believe. He is very Charming and likeable. He answered all my questions and told me where to find the games I was looking for. Because of these 2, I will be back. Thank you!
