The store has a surprisingly large selection of food for a small town store, so that was great! However, the produce, bottled sodas, and certain dry good items tended to be stale - which was not great because it is a bit pricey to shop here. Certainly better than taking the hour drive to the next town, but a bummer nonetheless.

I dunno what y’all did to that ribeye steak today, but THAT WAS THE GREATEST STEAK I EVER HAD.I don’t even have a cast iron skillet and I seared it on a Walmart nonstick just salt, pepper, oil, butter, garlic, and rosemary; 5min each side at 400 degrees in the pan, hit 130 internal temp let it rest for 6 min. I also got crazy and threw a tablespoon of bacon fat in the wine reduction I made for it.The grain was straight up and down, marbling was crazy, inch and a half thick, DIESEL STEAK.5 stars forever.

This place has the best selection for food in the area. Also the burritos are the best! Thanks for keeping fair prices, really appreciate it. You guys save me so much time traveling for groceries. Keep up the good work. The mask situation here is a little extreme but very understandable.

The market carries a wide variety of fine groceries, fresh produce, organic produce, and locally sourced grass fed beef, local chicken, lamb. During thus current pandemic situation, masks are required. The owners are there to answer any questions. This is a good place to shop and I do recommend it

I went in because I saw postcards through the window. Unfortunately, they were not the kind of postcards I was looking for. I wanted touristy postcards, something that said "Crestone" on them. Alas, these were postcard reproductions of original art. They were very pretty...mostly horses...but not what I wanted. Also, they cost $1 each, which is not so much for art, but a lot for a postcard. i didn't buy any. Also the store smelled funny. I don't know why, but I smelled it as soon as I walked in, even through my mask. I did appreciate that the owner of the store was requiring people to wear masks.

Gotta say...the Merc has some wonderful surprises on their shelves. Sometimes my recipes call for items I didn't think a small mountain town grocery would have yet THERE IT IS on the shelves. I'm impressed!

Have found Crestone Mercantile to have much better selection and prices than Elephant Cloud Market. I am proud Crestone Mercantile is actually taking a strong stance on masks. Someone else said they found their mask policy “a bit extreme”. Really? They state it correctly in this sign: An independent business is allowed to set its own rules. It’s pretty wild that some “enlightened, humanitarian” people in this community can’t even be bothered the basic courtesy to protect other humans. And that’s why I’ve loved going to Crestone Mercantile instead of Elephant Cloud. Friendly staff too.

This is a really nifty little grocery store; I was very impressed with the selection they offer for being such a small place.I also really like their up-front no-nonsense mask policy for the COVID-19 pandemic.The thing I will truly never forget is that at my first visit to Crestone Mercantile, I somehow managed to lose my keys and when I began to retrace my steps to find them, they practically scrambled a search party to help me, so big thanks to the wonderful people at Crestone Mercantile.

Great Store to have here in town. They always have reasonable prices and a good selection. Even things you wouldn't expect a small store to have. This evening I went there for some first aid supplies and a nice young man helped me try to find what I needed and asked if everything was ok.I couldn't believe how good the price was for the supplies. I'm thankful for this store:)

They are a wonderful store. Very well stocked. They have a better choice of products them the other stores in the area. Also prices are very reasonable for a small town market. I would drive out of my way to go there rather then go to saguache town market or the market in center.
