Cabin #25 is a perfect escape for 1-2 people. This 1934 log cabin has been restored, and the red refrigerator is just the cutest! The resort is clean, there are jeeps to rent, horses to ride in the back country, a fabulous restaurant, gift shop with Blue Bell ice cream and wildlife all around. This cabin backs up to the Rio Grande River, where there is gold medal fishing for trout. It's just an all-around great place to go and relax. It would be a great venue for a family reunion with the cabins and RV park with a huge Pavillion and grill to use.Rooms: Cozy log cabinNearby activities: Jeeping/Horses/Fishing/Hiking/Pavillion/RV parkFood & drinks: 149 Eatery is across the street

The cabin was ok, but not cleaned very well. The arrangement of the bathroom was inexcusable (unit #6). The toilet was virtually under the sink. We should have complained the first day. We did mention it to the people at the desk when we were departing. They said "yeah, it is our smallest one." They didn't even offer an apology. (We did see another unit that looked pretty nice. )

We stayed at the RV park for an overnight stop while traveling through Colorado. This park is right next to a beautiful field with horses and is surrounded by red rock bluffs. The RV park itself isn't anything fancy, but it has what you need and it's very easy to get to. They have a decent size laundry room with large machines that could fit comforters and bulky blankets, and have quarters at the main office. Our favorite part, besides the view, was the restaurant! They had a very nice restaurant with great food options and outdoor seating. We had the truffle waffle fries (highly recommend!). If we are ever back in this area we will stay at this park longer .

We love staying here with our large extended family! There is easy river access for fishing, a park for the kids and a huge pavilion with picnic tables and lights for cool mountain family suppers. There is a place to eat, do laundry, and get ice cream as well. You can even do a horseback ride straight from camp. This isnt luxury, but if you're looking for a comfy little cabin experience, give cottonwood cove a try.

Hwy 149 Eatery located inside Cottonwood Cove I would have to say after tonight I'm very disappointed...the first 2 times, amazing. This time I was told a party of 11 would have to be at 8:30, that's ok...but when our server tells us after our drinks are ordered that the kitchen closes at 9, ok I'm sorry that you made my reservation 30 minutes before close but don't rush us especially when we have family visiting us and we have spent over $1000 in your establishment in less than 2 weeks. Then our orders were messed up and one person in our party had to wait for their meal...very disappointed this time.

We always thought this place looked adorable when driving by. My mom & dad stayed in the rv park and my dad paid $600 for us to stay in cabin 3 for 3 nights. DON’T stay in the cabins at least not cabin 3. I’m assuming they’re all this bad.We didn’t have hot water first day and night. The bed is so hard & old you can feel the coils in your back. (Wayfair $400 foam matress & waterproof $30 mattress cover.)The toilet is for kindergarten children and when you finally get down to it the seat slides off the toilet. (New taller toilet $200)It wouldn't take much money to replace the mattress & the toilet then the place would be ok but not worth $200 a night.

The cabins are very old and not in great shape. The bathroom looks like a drunken afterthought. The walls are particleboard, the floor felt as if it would give way any minute. The toilet seat is halfway under the sink. Getting on and off the toilet is like getting in and out of an airplane seat with the tray table down. Really strange. The cabin had an overpowering (and I mean REALLY overpowering) smell of air freshener or cleaning solution. I tried not to think about what smell they were trying so hard to cover up. Disgusting. I tried airing it out to reduce the smell and it did not work. Consequently, I checked out a day early and was still charged for an additional night. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Let me first say, the location is BEAUTIFUL. However, my husband, sister and brother-in-law and I stayed in cabin 2 for a family reunion and it was a bit… rough. It was a two bedroom, one bathroom cabin and there was something pretty major missing in the cabin: the doors to the bedrooms. There was also no AC or heat available at the time, so it was burning up during the day and freezing at night. The shower head was also about 5 feet 5 inches tall, so if you’re tall, good luck showering! We had the opportunity to go into the other cabins that some family members were staying in and those were lovely! We were made aware that cabin 2 was privately owned and the office management didn’t realize that there was no bedroom doors in the cabin (which is odd, because I mean… they manage it). All in all, it’s a great location and there are nice cabins! So, if you come to stay at Cottonwood Cove, I would advise to stay in one of the non-privately owned cabins.

When we stayed at cabin number 2. This was our 1st trip to Cottonwood Cove last Sept. The weather was beautiful! The cabin was very clean and we loved the rustic feeling of the cabin, with all the modern conveniences. The staff at this time, they were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Hopefully we will be able to go there again, and hopefully we can stay in the same cabin if it is available.

Stayed in cabin 2 twice now this past year. Loved it both times! The person who complained earlier must be too used to their amenities. It’s advertised as a rustic cabin, you’re not going to have everything you have at home obviously. Accordion style doors have now been installed on the bedrooms, very nice. There is no need for heat or ac in the summertime (another complaint from the same reviewer earlier), high 70s during the day and low 50s at night. If it gets warm, just open a few windows and use the fans provided, not that hard. If you absolutely need heat, it’s VERY easy to light the pilot, or just call the front office to come light it. Yes, the bathroom is small, but it’s doable. I’m 6’2 and took a shower no problem. The kitchen is nice; stocked with everything you need if you plan to cook during your stay. The WiFi works pretty good. Satellite TV in all the cabins. Beautiful views just across the road by the river. Creede is just a few miles up the road and South Fork is the other direction. Plenty of things to keep you busy. Overall, I’ve loved my stay at Cottonwood Cove both times and plan to stay here again!

In March I talked with a co owner, Candy Burger, about having my wedding there all was good and we were given an affordable price with amazing views. We were ecstatic. On May 1st we went up and paid for everything. They told us that day that it was the first day they were open to the public. We spent hours going over the details and were promised and we paid in full for the pavilion, a spot by the river to get married, a cabin for 2 nights. It seemed too good to be true. 42 days later, exactly one week before our wedding on June 19, 2021 we got a call from the same co owner, Candy Burger, we had talked to back in March with very bad news. They had "accidentally" double booked the pavilion and we could no longer use it. She did offer the use of the restaurant, however, at max it could only hold less than half of the people we were expecting for the wedding. This was devastating. We were totally caught off guard. When we paid for everything on May 1st the ladies there checked their digital calendar and a written calendar and ensured us that June 19, 2021 was free and we would have total use of the pavilion. Apparently this was not the case. Given the circumstances we were forced to cancel our plans and totally redo all of our wedding plans. It was tons of work getting ahold of everyone invited and telling them of the change of location and having added expenses now forced upon us because of the location change. Please if you are planning on having any kind of event here have a back up plan! I hope this never happens to another couple. Since the time has past we have found out the that the other party who had the pavilion booked were in fact long time family friends. They had no knowledge of our troubles. In fact they have said if they would have known then they would have gladly had us use it. So when Candy Burger told us she was calling them and trying to work things out she was in fact lying. She also lied about them having booked it 2 years ago. They also booked their stay in 2021. I have no idea why Candy Burger felt the need to lie about everything to us. We are still finding out about new lies she told us and are shocked and hurt. I have absolutely no idea why she felt the need to go out of her way to lie and deceive us. In my opinion that is no way to run a business.

Please find another place to stay, we were so disappointed with our stay here. We decided to splurge for the cabin 31 because in the description it said cabin 31 was the most secluded cabin they had. This could not be further from the truth. The owners of the facility decided to place rented RV spots right up on the cabin, and the individuals staying in those RV’s parked their cars and trucks right up on cabin 31. All day and into the evening we constantly heard doors opening and slamming and conversations. The RV closest to the cabin 31 had a cat and every morning we stayed there they would send the cat out at 6am in the morning and the cat would immediately start meowing incessantly to get back inside. The cat woke our whole family, including our kids sleeping upstairs (the walls are thin). The cat would also meow in the late evenings as well when we were trying to get our kids to sleep. When we addressed this with the manager, she said that there had been complaints about the cat so they would have to do something about this. It was very apparent the management was well aware of the problems going on around cabin 31 but was doing nothing to fix it. The silverware in the drawers had food stuck in them still, which during covid you would think they would take greater care to clean. There is no dishwasher and we were only left a small amount of soap for cleaning with a washcloth, no sponge or scrubbing pad provided. The kitchen was not stocked well, and I finally gave up cooking meals. There just were not enough cooking utensils and pots and pans. For example, there was only one very small sheet pan that could be used in the oven, everything else was plastic and would melt. The refrigerate was turned up warm, and took 24 hours to cool down, so we ended having to juggle food in and out of the freezer to keep from losing what we had brought with us. Again, bringing these concerns up to the manager she did not seem surprised and she admitted they needed to fix these issues. We were offered $100 off of our stay due to these difficulties, which they never credited back to our account. To conclude, this is not a private cabin, you are not secluded. My hope is to keep other families from overpaying for a cabin that is not private.

LOVED this place! Cabins are very nice and at home feeling, people were very pleasant. River just outside was so cool. Fishing was fun, nice walks along the shore. They offer horse back riding and an array of other things. Playground for the kids, covered pavilion with picnic tables, fire pit where we roasted hot dogs and smores! The gift shop had tons of neat stuff. The restaurant had some amazing food and service plus an ice cream shop to top it off! We can't wait to come back!

I personally love the Cove! As I have a history with this beautiful place that goes back some 14 years ago.. Great owners and staff both friendly and helpful. Clean, stocked cabins with gorgeous views of the steep mountains and cliffs all around. Wonderful trout fishing on site! Dog friendly as well! Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to the lack of staff. (Not just there. Every restaurant I know including where I work in WI is having this issue.) I have no doubts that working for the Cottonwood Cove would be a great experience. As it was 14 yrs ago. So, if you're a local don't hesitate to fill out an application for summer 2022! If I was I KNOW I would be! And if you're looking for a beautiful place to park your RV or rent a cabin, the Cove is tucked right in the mountains and is very close to Creede, South Fork, and Pool Table road. Whether you're looking to fish, hike, camp, ride 4x4, ATV'S, or just relax. You can't go wrong with the Cottonwood Cove. 💜

Enjoyed the relaxed vibe. Come here for a simple relaxed feel (This is not luxury cabins) Very clean, well kept & rustic environment. Liked that it was a smaller campground. Family owned and maintained. We stayed in the hotel and our folks stayed in the campground. Hope to come back soon. Restaurant is closed but the Grandma still makes amazing pastries.

So sad there will be no cook this summer! My family is very disappointed that we can't go there for catfish this year. We go every summer except last summer and this summer! It's a family tradition! I spoke to the new owner and she assured me that there would be a cook for next summer!I did buy the cutest crossbody purse. They do have some of the best gifts! They are still serving ice cream!!

We stayed during the off season, so once you got keys and payed you were on your own. There were 5 adults and 4 fur babies the cabin had room except for cell block 3 that held the bunk beds that did not have a door, reminded us of work except our gates shut. (We work in a prison) wish there was there more lighting around the cabins when you walked the dogs in the evening. Overall a nice stay fun weekend, beautiful scenery. Would come back.

Absolutely impressed with this guest ranch. My husband and I decided it would be the perfect place for our outdoor wedding. We really enjoy it and it was such a beautiful backdrop to our rustic country wedding. We got married 8/15/15. Kayla and Mike (owners) are wonderful people and will accommodate you the best they can. We had no issues and really enjoyed our stay in the honeymoon cabin! Cottonwood cove is absolutely relaxing and we would recommend it to anybody! THANKS AGAIN KAYLA AND MIKE!

Cute little cabins with everything you need, pots and pans in a kitchen. TV with cable. Wifi. There was a gift shop with ice cream, Amish hand pies and basic food like pizza, hot dogs etc. Only complaint was the bed was hard, there was some road noise and headlights coming through the windows and the bathroom was comically small. The shower head was at my husband's chest level and he's well under 6 feet tall

We stayed at CC for 5 nights in the biggest cabin they had. It is cheaply made but that wasn't really a big deal, The WiFi is terrible. I had trouble checking work emails, we didn't try anything like streaming. All of that was as expected. What wasn't expected was how extremely rude the front desk staff were to us. One morning, a tall woman with short hair was so unfriendly when I inquired about horse back riding and a cup of coffee. My dad's transmission went out and they went back to the cabin. We, in a separate car, called the front desk to see if they made it back alright (there is no cell reception to call them directly). The woman on the phone said she couldn't see because the pergola was in the way. Read that again: we were worried about our family's safety and she would not put the phone down and take a couple steps to the left to look out the window and tell us if she could see our car parked directly across from the front office. The next morning I came to the front desk and spoke to another woman and asked "May I use the land line?" and she said "What for?" I explained that I needed to call about a rental car and after a moment she allowed it. I asked what would make her say no and she said a personal call. Who does she think I am calling that it would be inappropriate to make a quick call when there is no cell service or landlines in the room?We ultimately had to rent a jeep from them so we could handle getting the car repaired so we could go home. They were sure to make as much money off of our desperate situation as they could. We asked if we could set up a noon to noon situation for the jeep since several were sitting there without being rented. They said they would have to call the owners, but then they refused. I don't know what the deal is with these people but several members of our family noticed how unhelpful and rude they were from a cup of coffee to a crisis.I would rather sleep in a tent with bears roaming around than ever give my money to this place again. There's nothing special about this place, go elsewhere for a better experience.

Nice RV park at good rates with good amenities, also within a good proximity to Creede, several off-road and hiking trails. The lodge has Blue Bell ice cream, which earns them extra points in my book.
