If you are looking for a diner, this is the place. Seems to be a popular place for locals being on the west end of town out of the hustle and bustle of the greater downtown Cortez center where the town seems to cater more to travelers. There are some unique menu items that I would have liked to try if I had more time, but generally, it's "diner" food. I found the breakfast to be enjoyable, and it hit the spot before hitting the road, leaving town. If you like diners like I do, then I certainly would recommend this place.Parking: Parking is on packed dirt. Could be messy in wet weather.

Nice place inside. Got seated, or rather, waved to a table, took a minute for a waitress to get to us. Ordered the hot roast beef sandwich w mashed potatoes, I loved this dish as a child at my aunts restaurant in Silverton, I was hoping it would be as good.It was what I'd expect from a diner, it was mid. It came out pretty fast but It wasn't hot or warm, just, room temp, the gravy had even started getting a skin. There was a good amount of beef, I'm not a fan of the potatoes.I was not impressed or really filled up. I ate almost all of it because I hadn't eaten yet, but I can't say I enjoyed it. To be fair I'll go back a couple more times, the chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy seem to be popular. We also got a very small salad plate. I went to the salad bar once. IDK if you can go back, I didn't check. We got 1 drink, we're checked on 1 time and never again saw a waitress for refills or to get our check.

Just passing through, I saw the classic-looking restaurant with the tribal name and lots of cars parked out front. Seemed like a good bet. Inside I was seated quickly. The servers seemed to be handling the crowd well, which appeared to include many regulars. I was happy to see Navajo tacos on the extensive menu, something I had enjoyed years earlier at another 4 Corners restaurant. What came out was not what I was expecting. The fry bread was the best part, but it was difficult to cut and seemed undercooked. The lettuce and tomato were fine, but I was surprised to see chopped onions on it after the server told me it would have green onions. The server asked if I wanted red or green chile, and I chose red, but what came out was dull brown and tasted more like the beans than any peppers. It reminded me of store brand canned chili, but the small cup of salsa improved the taste somewhat. The dusting of shredded cheese quickly melted into the runny chili. While I waited for the food, I went to the restroom to wash my hands, but since there was no soap, and the paper towel dispenser was broken, I left feeling less clean than before. I asked the server if they had any soap to refill the dispenser, and one of the kitchen staff went in to take care of it while I paid. I went back to the restroom on my way out, and found the dispenser filled with pink dishwashing detergent. Better than nothing I guess. Overall it was a mixed experience. Fortunately there are many other options in town.

The service here is the worst, the manager has a serious attitude problems to customers when there is an issue and I just tried to correct the order ticket/double check if it was correct. So DOUBLE CHECK your TOTAL before you pay. I was over charged $20 and she doesn’t want to admit it, the manager aggressively grabbed the check from me.

Tried my first Navajo Taco here and it was incredible! 😍 Just the right amount of food by itself. Got it with the green sauce and it had the perfect amount of kick to it. Worth a stop to try it!Vegetarian options: There was a salad bar!

Horrible food, snotty waitress. My family of five just left. 1 order of th1 egg plate. The hashbrown was cold and had to have it microwaved, it took 15mins just to throw it in the microwave, the only thing eatten was the toast. 1 order of 21 shrimp plate only thing eaten was the shrimp and maybe 5 fries. The fries and greenbeans were tasteless and rubbery. 1 order of 3 egg plate, everything was luke warm. 1 order of 2 chicken straps meal green beans were rubbery and passed to a different family member. Last was a Brisket Meal, Brisket was fatty, tasteless all around gross and the waitress was told so and asked to take it back, the mashed potatoes were luke warm, again green beans were rubbery. Then when the bill came we were charged $20 over what our bill should have been. When we got to the front to pay, we told her the issues. VERY SNOTTY you ate everything shouted in our faces UM NO we ate what we could stomach. When told we wouldn't come back she just shrugged, so we said with that attitude you won't be getting a tip either, to which we got a smirk. I WILL NEVER go back!

Good food. but rather greasy.Coffee had an odd taste and never got my cup refilled.Not very personable staff, rather abrupt in telling you where to sit taking orders and money.Thought maybe it was just a one-time thing but it happened again.It's nice to see people smile back when you smile at them.Thought maybe it was just a bad time in their life but did see them laughing and smiling amongst themselves.

Was disappointed in the cheeseburger. It taste ok, but it is very small, especially for the price. If you want an excellent size cheeseburger, with a homemade patty for a cheaper price, I HIGHLY recommend Pippo's Cafe!

What a great stop for good food!My husband and I both had the most amazing biscuits and gravy we've ever had!!! The biscuits are big, soft and fluffy!!! Highly recommend!We will definitely be back!

They are working with the Salvation Army and local Colorado DOT 😁👍 to feed the truckers for free. Big thanks, we was starving. I got a big juicy 😋 homemade hamburger and chips and the hubby got a burrito all the way. Plus we got a goodie bag with lots of stuff from the Salvation army that the restaurant ladies packed and brown bags to go.

The best Hometown cooking, excellent service, very busy but great service, fast delivery of my meal, food was hot and everything was great. Staff was awesome, water and coffee was always full. I found it amazing to sit down in a busy restaurant and have such great service and fast hot meal. My hat go off to the owner and staff for providing the most enjoyable hometown meal. Excellent!!Parking: Great location, easy parking, off the main highway.

Where is Chef Robert Irvine when you need him? It should be a crime to serve the coffee that they do. Not only was my wallet assaulted, the breakfast steak was a physical threat to my well-being. The only thing more homely than the food was the waitress. The clean restrooms earned them a star.

I'm a long haul truck driver and I have epilepsy I went into the restaurant respectfully before I took my service animal with me. My dog and I asked him can I bring my service animal in and the lady got an attitude as long as she's got papers. So I said okay I'll go get them. She went into the hallway, the restaurant behind the counter and engaged in a conversation like with her co-worker smirking and saying there's a difference between emotional support animal and a service dog and like talking ignorant towards me and my dog so I went outside. Got the paperwork. Brought my dog in and told the owner that it's not okay cuz it was the owner that was making us feel not welcome and it was the owner that was talking bad and gossiping about me and my dog. It was a really bad experience and I went and got my dog in the papers and continued back into the restaurant and I told the owner that it's not okay to treat people and talk about people like they were doing and she said well. If you want to sit down and meet you can. Maybe you should understand that there are people out there with disorders that need their dog with them and it's not okay to put people down and to make them feel not welcome in your own restaurant if you're passing through. Do not stop at this place. It's dirty as hell inside in the way they treat. People is not okay

Great choice for brkfst between Durango & Four Corners Monument. Extensive menu & we all enjoyed our dishes. Plates were loaded & prices reasonable. Appears to be a locals spot. Waitresses constantly moving... good staff. We'd go back for sure. Loved ur biscuits, gravy & eggs!!!

I walked in this morning asked for a to go menu. Came back in with mine and my husband's orders and were ignored. Several groups of men came in after me, they were helped. Both ladies that were waitresses look me in my eye a few times each from across the dining area. One even cashed out 2 tables while standing a foot away from me and never looked up, never acknowledged I was standing there. Walks away, goes to a table that was seated after I came in, looks up at me and makes eye contact then proceeds to take out her pad to take their order. How hard is it to acknowledge someone? How hard is it to be polite? Is it because I'm not local? Why should my husband drive all night (truck driver) and have to settle for BK across the highway?
