The week before Thanksgiving 2020 only half the shoppers were wearing masks. Also, graffiti on the front door and an obese security guard in front of the registers give an overall sense of doom. They have a drive through pharmacy which is good for the upcoming outbreak. Go to to Safeway just down the highway.

This store has improved SO much in the past couple of years. It is a pleasure to shop there, Try the $5 shrimp & cocktail sauce trays! Makes for an easy meal or snack and the cocktailsauceisdelicious!

I moved here from Colorado Springs where I shopped at King Soopers all the time. One of my favorite features was the delivery option which this local city market does not have- so I have had to shop at Safeway because they DO offer it. I hope with this new merger, this will be a consideration for the customers.Especially given that this particular location is crowded, and questionable people linger outside and ask you for money... there is very little reason even with a Starbucks inside... for me to shop in person here.

Good quality food, fresh and lots of local items. Variety of other necessities as well.Wish they hadn't moved from Shiprock. Luckily CM is only 45 miles away. Well worth the trip, gas up while there.

Update: Now the isles are even more narrow causing frequent "traffic jams" in them, and they moved everything around in the entire store so now it's even more difficult to find out they don't have what I want. I used to love this store for it's location and the wonderful staff; genuinely nice, and helpful people. However, I'm often irritated with it because they move stuff around frequently and often don't have many items I'm grocery shopping for; Items that they have one week, but their out of it the next. I'm driving farther for my groceries because of these continued failures.

I live in New Mexico. While we were in transition from Wyoming, we stopped in Cortez. Our hotel was across the street from City Market. Not only was it a beautiful store, it had a huge selection of hot wheels!!!! The integrity and professional attitude of the general manager was second to none. We now travel here two to three times a year, and City market and its staff are a large part of that. The whole experience is top notch. THANK YOU

I’ve been a satisfied customer for 16 years. I shopped today for the first time since the re-arrangement. What a mess. Couldn’t get past other customers in the new narrow aisles . Couldn’t get the cart past the displays set up in the aisles. I am totally disappointed. I refuse to go to Walmart , so I guess I’m now a customer of Safeway. Let me know when you change it back. Cortez store.

I enjoy shopping at City Market in Cortez because the customer service is over the top. I can always count on the weekly sales to help feed my family of 5 on a budget. I do not recommend the pharmacy at City Market as there are always over 30 minute waits to get prescriptions no matter how many people are working there. Also have received less than polite service from staff at the pharmacy. But the rest of the store is great. Shelves are nicely stocked and store is always clean.

My complaint is mainly towards Starbucks.Today I had 2 ladies/baristas SNAP at me, because they made my drink wrong 3 times. So the third time I kindly asked...if would they like me to write down my drink for them. They both gave me a nasty look and snapped at me with a ugly tone. Of course they act like this once their manager leaves. I don't know the ladies names, but they do this EVERY TIME. But today it really upset me. Because I've been a barista before, I've also worked customer service and management for 5 years. And that job is to make sure the customer is happy and leaves satisfied!Only go to Starbucks when Jeremy, John, Sheila, and Cory are working!!!

Not a great place to shop the employees try to make you pay extra money for them. When you go back after being ripped off the security who has a gun you can see follows you around the store then stops you out side I should have called the cops.

Bought groceries and some of it was spoiled. Cheese, bread, and meat were had mold. Waste of money! I also asked a worker for help in locating an item and she gave me attitude for wearing a mask!

Wouldn’t give me my change back due to coin shortage which is a pile of BS. There is not a shortage. Wanted me to donate it or put it on my city market card. Cashier didn’t know how to do that. Instead I had to pay with my credit card for $300 ish. Your store just lost at least 3% for me swiping my card cause you wouldn’t take my cash. Cash is your customers not yours to hold hostage. Give customers their money back.

I have been loyally shopping here with pleasure for 15 years. I don’t know what corporate genius came up with the recent “renovation” idea but the really dropped the ball. Smaller Isles. Torn up ugly floor. No logical organization. Instead of the paper products being in one isle, they only fill half and then you find unrelated items like canned goods. The rest of the paper products are on another isle. I assume this is to direct the customer past items them might not normally buy. But it’s inconvenient and confusing. The customers I’ve talked to hate it. I would stop shopping here if it wasn’t for the gas points. Two thumbs down!

Whoever is at the self checkout today 10.3.20 at 1230pm. Is a horrible worker. I was in the self checkout and had one item and one coupon. I stood there waiting for her to come over and help with the coupon because you have to. About 10 min later after she talked with other customers and went into what i believe to be an office she finally came and helped me. While coming to help me not one word no "sorry didnt realize you were waiting" nothing. Worst customer service ever.

City Market does have a great selection and an okay Starbucks.I really only go here if I absolutely have to.However..There is a big tall guy that wears a cap who will stand in various areas throughout the store and stare you down. I caught staring my five year old girl so I will avoid him at all costs. I understand that he might have ties to the store but his creepiness factor is big.The employees will follow you and stand really close while you shop. Even WALMART doesn't have this level of employees who profile.On the other hand..Great pricing on soda and the gas discounts help out the most.

I was racially profiled by security. I was kicked out after purchasing a teddy bear and soda for my daughter. I was embarrassed in front of people. The manager that day did nothing. When I ask for someone higher he told me he was busy. Didn't even check. I returned what I purchased. Is this how they treat paying customers? I watch other people hang out there. Maybe a lawyer might be interested with how I was treated.

Had gotten 10xs better since they started carrying more organic products. It is actually a really great grocery store for a small town in SW Colorado. On top of all that, everyone is always super friendly.
