Excellent real fish store with a very helpful, chill associate who was very knowledgeable with all our questions/ concerns. Excellent stock of various fish, fresh water and saltwater. Much better than a place like petco to buy from. Fish all looked happy and healthy. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a place in the city!

All the fish I have bought here are still alive. I have bought from other places and most of the fish have died within months. My older fish have lived so I know it isn’t something I am doing wrong. Very happy with this store and the owner must be careful about where he buys his fish. They all seem very happy, and healthy.

Sadly disappointed with the customer service I received! As a new fish owner and someone who was looking for guidance for my son’s first fish I was shocked when the employee was curt and flat out rude. His “help” was practically running through the store naming off names of plants at rapid speed and explaining nothing to me, who just wanted to learn what was best for our tank.I knew NOTHING walking into the store and wanted to buy live plants for our tank rather than the fake ones we got a a big brand store.I also wanted to know if buying 2 small snails for my tank was safe. His answer was simply to refuse to sell them to me.I left with a frustration that made me want to give up on our investment of being a fish owning family.There are better shops in town that offer help to 1st time fish owners. I wouldn’t recommend this shop to ANYONE who doesn’t already know what they are looking for!

I am very happy with my purchase. I have been calling stores all over the Colorado area and there were no axolotls anywhere. After calling literally every store in Colorado, this one popped up on my list. I called hoping they had baby leucistic axolotls. They had 4 left. I talked with my best friend, who I would be getting the axolotl with and she told me to try and reserve two. I’m glad I did because when I called again there were only two left. I reserved them for only $5 extra! Which is pretty good because the guy had to hold them for a few days before I could come and pick them up. Very happy with my purchase! My friend and I went together and now we both have our amazing little babies. I definitely recommend this shop. I will include a picture for anyone who is curious what they look like.

We have a beautiful tank filled with gorgeous fish and live plants at home that we get compliments on all the time. We love to watch the fish, it's so calming, and they are happy and healthy. The owner was very patient and helpful in helping my 6yo pick out fish for her 10 gallon tank three weeks ago. She ended up getting 6 Cherry Barbs and a guppy. All of the fish are very healthy and active, and a lot of fun to watch. I absolutely plan to shop here again when we upgrade to a bigger tank.

Went there with a sister and a friend, Very cute little place, definitely a great spot for sea water fish lovers. Really enjoyed the variety of fish that they have, I have been pleased to see that the tanks were filled with life, clear water and no dead fish floating around like I've seen in other stores. Even better, the fishes that they have are doing so well that they keep giving life to new one! You can tell that the person in charge cares about the well being of those pets and is very passionate about it. I got myself 3 different type of fish plus a aquatic plant for my community tank and I'm 100% satisfied with the service provided and the quality of those little guys. I'll be back for sure!

I never have had a bad experience here! Always walk out with a smile on my face and new information about our new scale friends ! Whenever i have any questions or concerns he is always ready to give a helping hand or piece of advice also cant beat the prices and last but far from least the quality of the merchandise bought their has always fulfilled their life term or expectancy and filled my kids hearts with joy ..i really cant say enough good things about this place!

Super helpful, knowledgeable and kind owner! He was very patient and understanding with all of my questions and got me exactly what I needed. The test strips for water levels I purchased worked really well and I have a lot more peace of mind that I won’t kill my fish now. Hopefully I can graduate to a bigger tank one day and will be coming here for all of my fishy needs.

Awesome store that really encapsulates what being an aquatic hobbyist is really about. At a quick glance, you can quickly tell that the owner is very much still a hobbyist at heart and cares quite a bit about the livestock he provides.

Good prices for a lot of the products, especially hard-scapes like stones. It's not as cheap as petco but has a higher quality.

As soon aa you walk the vibes are just awesome. The man working there has been open since 2008 he REALLY knows his stuff, coral, saltwater, freshwater. He is extremely knowledgeable and i will aways return to him for my fishy needs. The atore waa clean, ALL the tanks were clean and clear he was even maintaining one or two at a time while I was browsing but waa happy to immediately stop upon my inquiries. I saw NO dead fish in ANY aquarium they ALL looked happy and healthy as can be in there tanks. I was very impressed with the entire store and want my basement to look like his store one day, anyway i ONLY reccommend Tropical Treasures for ANY of your aquatic pet needs, even if its just questions hes got the answers for you. Thank you to the owner for my new lil friends and your fantastic customer service! I wish I could give 10 stars!!!

Wasn't very much help seemed didn't want me to shop at his establishment didn't bother me much I'd never go back. Had a well over priced Cichlid he was asking $80.00 look for similar Cichlid online they where $12.00 could almost get 7 of them at his price kinda hurt my feelings maybe dude jacked the price up on me not sure there are no prices displayed I guess different prices different folks. You may like his establishment as for me place was a joke.

Great experience nephew got this rare kyoga fireback.. and look at this color.... He wasn't this bright when he got him.. bright and showed color but wow amazing color.... Nate is great and very knowledgeable...

I love this place. The owner is highly educated about his fish & prices are very fair. The blue fish is a Electric Blue Johani & excited to buy more in the near future.

Went inside with wife looked around for about 20 min and was never greeted or asked if was something we needed help with. Which was fine as they are seriously lacking on product. Few salt water fish nothing really special and a medium size assortment of fresh water. Mainly the stuff you could get at Petco nothing to really set them apart from big box stores. Prices were on par with everyone else for the few things they did have though.

Went in to get 2 angelfish, the fish all looked very healthy and the guy there was very helpful and knowledgeable, helped with a few of my questions about tank stocking and whatnot, I ended up getting a breeding slate for the angelfish too. Only complaints are that there is a very strong smell when you enter and they didn't have the specific type of angelfish I wanted, but neither of these are really a big deal.

Overall a poor experience. The store was absolutely filthy, grime and gunk all over the floor. The tanks all looked really, really gross- like they hadn't been taken care of in a long time. Full of algae, rotting things, and even dead fish as well. Many of the fish were visibly sick, several were wasting from parasites, gulping air, and many had clamped fins. The tanks themselves made me feel upset and bad for the fish, they were cramped, packed full of fake decor that was filthy. There were very large fish in tanks that were far too small, where it seemed hard to move. Many tanks had hard water stains or salt crusted across them. The guy behind the counter didn't say anything when we came in, only stared at his phone. He only spoke when prompted. No greetings or regular customer service at all. He had a bird behind the counter too, which was in a tiny, tiny cage, much too small for the poor thing :(The store itself was incredibly stuffy and hot, I felt like I couldn't breathe and had to keep going back to the front door.I won't be going back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'd say treat it as a last resort. They do not care for their animals very well.

Never been here but according to the review's Nate the owner is bipolar as hell and the fish are sick but happy to be healthy? Totally confused lol Do they have aquascaping supplies for freshwater/blackwater aquariums? I'm sure Nate is a perfectly good guy with knowledge and experience or else this place would not have been here since I was a small child.

I rarely ever write reviews on anything, but this man and his shop sincerely deserve it! I will tell you right now, his fish are pure quality. The shop owner, Nathan, has such an amazing energy when you go in! It’s nearly impossible to disagree that all of his fish look phenomenal! I bought a baby Angelfish from him almost a year ago and he is strong, healthy and very energetic!I visited Tropical Treasures last night to look at the kind of guppies he was selling! I am located in a city about 30-40 miles from the shop, and I could not help myself! I came home with 4 Guppies and 1 baby Cory Catfish! I’m telling you, his fish are sheer quality. Please don’t visit Petco or Petsmart for fish, as they are complete trash and we all know it. The quality is noticeably so much better! This man was so kind to my sister and I, and I cannot wait to go back and see him for another 10/10 experience! This review is well-deserved!

Small store but amazing fish and very clean tanks! I didn't see one dead or sick looking fish in any of the tanks there. Good second hand tanks and some chemicals and decorations. If your looking for corals you can also get them here. The guy up front is very nice and answered my questions quickly and he definitely knows what he's talking about! My new favorite fish store!

WOW! This store is absolutely incredible and the store owner is even greater! He really took the time to talk with me regarding my fish and my plan with my tank. He didn't have the silly little piece I needed for my filter, but surely took care of me, provided many alternatives and solutions to where I could find this little piece I was on a hunt for. The store is absolutely unique to the other stores for fish here in Colorado Springs, I highly recommend checking out this Fishy sweet spot! Plus you can trust his products vs big box stores with ridiculous mark ups.

My wife always wanted a fish tank, and of course, we had to pick the toughest fish we could find as our first attempt at owning a fish tank. We bought a 35-gallon tank from Petsmart and some African cichlids. The sign at the store said advanced fish, and I'm like, how hard could it be? Well.... It's extremely hard. Although Petsmart has some good fish caretakers, it seemed like our really advanced questions were not being answered. I finally looked around and found tropical treasures.Nate, the owner has been nothing but amazing. From day one, we bugged him with hundreds of questions. Litterally... He never once pushed us aside. He was always willing to help. He even took a ton of our problem and aggressive fish that were tearing our other fish and tank up. We eventually got rid of all of our cichlids and gave them to Nate for a good home. My wife was sad about the aggression and even dying fish from Petsmart.I told my wife that an oscar tank would be calmer, so we leaned on Tropical treasures for not only the best advice but the best fish to finally have a tank we could enjoy. We have been able to find very rare and hard to find fish through Nate. Tropical treasures can get very busy but if you have the patients to wait and especially to get to know the owner, it truly is the best place in Colorado Springs to buy your fish. Petsmart fish and chain stores have sold us extremely sick fish in the past. It is worth every penny to know you have a healthy fish from the start with Tropical treasures.I don't have enough good things to say about this amazing store and owner with unimaginable knowledge about the fish and industry. We will never buy from a chain store or any other store at that. We could not be happier with our fish selection and tank thanks to Tropical treasures and Nate. 10 stars
