It's impossible to find orchids in COS other than your grocery store and garden center Phaleanopsis. But then my brother and I discovered this gem. The owner, Mike, is super nice, and carries a large selection of many species of orchids--even the impossible-to-find jewel orchids. He also has a huge variety of exotic houseplants too. The prices are very reasonable, and the store is so enjoyable just to browse all the beauty. Plus, he has the best selection of decorative pots in town! And he carries orchid supplies like moss, pots, and other growing media. I have to be careful how often I go because I always spend a fortune!

I fell for the reviews on here saying this shop was awesome. It may be good for flowers, but I ordered the $125 gift basket and it had maybe, MAYBE, $30 of items in it total. This was a total and complete RIPOFF. Never again. I am disgusted that they would even deliver this and not feel ashamed for what they included.

If you're a plant lover, this place is perfect. I've been able to find some amazing varieties of orchids like this Witchcraft Orchid. They get all of their orchids from Hawaii, so they come in extra happy and plump. They also have a program where you can trade in your old orchids for discounts on new ones. This is great if you love to watch the flowers bloom but don't want the commitment of trying to keep the plant alive. For those who want a surprise, they usually have a discount section of orchids that aren't flowering at the moment. You can find some incredible varieties for cheap.If you are into terrarium or vivariums, they also sell quite a few plants like Jewel Orchids that work great for them.Oh, one of my favorite things is the large variety of hand-made pots.

The owners are amazing and the shop has so many great houseplants. I went in for some birdseed and came out with birdseed and a house plant. Not to mention I got some free coffee and a pastry 😉. This is a great local gem and I'll be back for sure.

I went here expecting there to just be a bunch of phalaenopsis orchids. I was Very Pleasently Suprised! Dendrodiums, Oncidiums and more! Picked up a Stanhopea oculata! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely be back

Awesome plant shop, all of their plants are beautiful and many are unusual. They have more than just orchids and the staff is a great resource for plant help as well. A nice (but small) selection of birding supplies too, and a gorgous garden outside!

Great local shop. I went in to look for a new orchid but they have plenty of other nice plants, pots and outdoor bird related seed and merch. They were very friendly and the prices were very good. They carry a large variety of orchid colors and unique varieties that you typically never see in the box stores. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are good at getting orchids to rebloom, then they even have a section for you to buy orchids at a great discount that aren't in bloom which have been brought back by customers after the blooms have gone. Very cool!

My go to bird shop in town! I stop in every couple weeks for some seed and peanuts, and I am always remembered! The owner always asks how my bird friends are doing and always has fun facts about different species! The seed itself is AMAZING. My birds LOVE it and it's nice to know it is locally sourced and mixed! It has definitely brought way more birds to my yard and is way more cost effective than seed from other spots in town. Plus they have SO. MANY. PLANTS. The atmosphere is great and I am so thankful I stopped in here! If you have wild feathered friends, then this is the place for you!!!!

I highly recommend this place for any plant lover! Michael is such a welcoming and sweet individual. He is very reassuring when it comes to beginners and always makes sure you know how to properly care for your newest additions. He has some beautiful and great quality orchids but also carries some cool, unique plants as well. My boyfriend and I love coming here and will continue to do so!

Excellent birding supplies, and knowledge on birding and orchid/houseplant care.The ‘Bear Necessities’ seed blend is excellent, and you can buy it in a cloth bag that’s refillable.They have both common and more uncommon/rare orchid varieties here for a range of prices as well as a nice variety of small houseplant pots in lots of colors and shapes.

Super awesome spot to pick up your bird seed/supplies and they have really cool bird feeders! They now offer beautiful orchids and have sweet exchange/credit process for orchids that aren't blooming anymore. I've always dealt with Michael and he's so down to earth and easy to talk to. He knows his stuff and you can tell he's very passionate about his shop. Support small business!

Incredibly supportive of other local small businesses! I own a garden center in Monument, and Michael has been more than willing to help advise both me and my staff on backyard birding. He even recommended the best hummingbird feeders for us to sell, even though that could be considered as competition to his own business! He simply smiled and said, "the more folks getting people into backyard birding, the better for us all." He is genuine, and is the type of small business owner that I am proud to have in our community.

My boss sent me to Songbird & the Orchid for some gift baskets for his business vendors. I brought 2 bottles of wine to be added to each basket. I cannot say enough about how beautiful these baskets turned out. Everyone in the store was over the top helpful and friendly. I’m sad that I didn’t know Songbird/Orchid existed sooner because I would shop there all the time! Highly recommend you check it out!

For over a year now, we've been visiting this shop on roughly a weekly basis. It's one of my favorite local businesses.The location is beautiful, tucked behind Summerland Gardens, and the shop is well-stocked with feeders to suit your needs no matter what birds frequent your yard. You'll also find an eclectic selection of high quality, bird-themed gifts(which are pretty much the best gifts). And, of course, there's the seed!Michael, the owner, has devised his own blends and for my wife and I the results have been fantastic. Our feeders are by far the most popular in our neighborhood. What's more is Michael is super knowledgeable and helpful, always taking time to answer our questions and ensuring we leave with the proper blend. We have bears where we live, and he's been great about suggesting practices so we can all coexist.I don't write many reviews, but Songbird Supplies is just exactly the type of business I want to support. -- locally owned by a conscientious shopkeeper with a legit concern for Colorado's incredible wildlife. We take our birds pretty serious in my household, and we're glad to have found Michael and his shop.
