These guys are very knowledgeable of their reptiles. I bought my baby dragon here a year ago. He is my emotional support animal. ❤️ The alligator/ croc tank. The staff is always helpful and friendly as well

Awesome place. My ancient python had serious issues with an eye cap not coming off for the longest time. The dude at the store (whose name I unfortunately don't know) gave far better advice and instruction than the veterinarian I took her to. Her eyes have been clear ever since. Thank you, dude!

Brand new beardie owner and got one from them was healthy and great weight. I bought another beardie couple days later from another store in different city where you could see her bones and she has been struggling. I took her to them they checked her out and recommended some things to help her. Since I’m new beardie parent I bought my lighting from them and of course it was off. I was able to return and switch items to get the right lighting. I greatly appreciate their patience with me and the help.

Absolutely love this place! My daughter comes here for her feeder mice and dubia roaches at a great price. They also are one of the few places around that stock panther chameleons! Service is awesome and there's always a lot of different animals to look at. Especially their Caiman's in the large terrarium.

Website states that they sell frozen, pre-killed and live feeders - this is apparently not true. The man at the register informed me - slightly grumpy that " we don't do frozen here" ... as if it was an outrageous request ... strange for a reptile place as many people feed frozen/thawed ?? Getting snakes used to frozen is a good thing in my book- but to each their own ... I also noticed prices being quite high ... I don't mind to pay a few $ extra to support local business and get good service but a ( mediocre ) thermostat almost twice the price than at any other retailer ... seems excessive ... Also no higher end thermostats available at all - no herpstat or Vivariums - they do have basic supplies as far as substrates go and gecko diets and supplements and the more popular reptiles but ... nothing to write home about. And service was most definitely not friendly ... not sure if I don't look like I keep reptiles or maybe I am not their target demographic ... but ... I am not going back . They need friendlier service, check their prices and maybe get some beginner friendly reptiles not commonly found ... spotted pythons, African house snakes, Milks , Kings, maybe some interesting bugs and frogs and some decent PVC enclosures I can't buy at the box store? And please - don't put the larger critters in tiny cages - even for display ... people will see it and do the same at home ...

Our favorite reptile shop! We purchased 2 crested geckos and their terrariums at this store about 2 years ago and they are gorgeous and thriving! This store always has what we need to care for our reptiles! And the staff is top notch!

I was in the store today with the intention to purchase our son 'Harrison' a baby beardie. The store had quite a few of them. An employee 'Paul' was so incredibly helpful and very respectful. Paul helped me with everything. I tried my best to get a 50% off.... but no luck!! lol!! Maybe next time!Seriously tho, if your ever in the store ask for Paul. This guy is the Best!!!!

They have just the right amount of everything for reptiles and amphibians I feel like this store is cleaner than the one on woodmen. There is one staff member who isn't very tactful and is also a little more dismissive than the average person. Some of their pricing is a tiny bit exorbitant, but I feel like I need someone to know that if they reduced the pricing just a tiny bit on just a few things, like wood, they would move more of the product a little faster and show us that they recognize environmental needs by offering options from sources that need to be cleaned a little more often. Grape vines by example. They sell the vine that is trimmed at the end of a winter harvest. Lol at how much wine we have on the planet and tell me that a stick should cost me $60.00, per se.....

I go to the location weekly. To get crickets and rats. The past 3 weeks I have gone in there. I have asked for a 125 large crickets. And I keep getting smalls and mediums Which would be OK with me if I wasn't still being charged for large crickets. When I brought this to the associate's attention I get told that's not their problem because that's how they came. Again completely understandable. But I still should not be charged for a large cricket.

Best Reptile store ever!! Around 9 months ago, I got my bearded dragon from Scales and Tails. They helped me out so much with starting off, as I never had a beardie before. I am so happy that we went to Scales and Tails. The employees are incredibly helpful and kind. They really know their stuff when it comes to their animals. Some things may be a little pricey but it is good stuff and worth the money. Glad I went here instead of a Pet store. <3

Great experience with Paul and Nick.I'm a new Gecko mom, and although I've had Uromastyx, iguanas and pythons I had a lot to learn about geckos. I adopted my 2 year old and did a lot of research. Still I had many questions I couldn't find answers for online. Staff was incredibly accommodating and eager to help answer questions and point me to the direction of supplies I could use to make sure my little guy is happy and healthy. They recommended and suggested a heat projector 150W for my 40G and it is the absolute perfect temp for my enclosure. My gecko felt at home and was eating 4 days after I adopted him.Great Store, knowledgeable staff.Thanks guys!!!!

10/10 herp store. I bought a ghost mantis and designer isopods (roly polys) as well as my feeder insects. They always have a great selection of inverts/arachnids as well as herps. I love talking with the people that work here and they have always been willing to share knowledge. They have also offered to work with me to try and get harder to come by specimens from their distributors. Best reptile store I have been to.

Love this store, I'm so happy we found it when we moved here. The guys are very knowledgeable and the set up is great! It's always clean and never smells like there are dozens of reptiles housed there - I've been to some stores that smell absolutely awful. They do a great job! Recently bought our tokay gecko there, the employee had zero fears of reaching in and taking him out - impressive.

Got a lizard from here less than two weeks ago. Was squeeking when I got him and took him to the vet to find out there was nothing I could do for him cause it was too late.He had a respiratory disease.Had multiple other bearded dragons in the same cage as him at the store so I know it’s not the only lizard that was sick. I tried to call the shop to inform them for the other lizards AT LEAST no answer. Tried to call the managers number that I seen on these reviews to let him know after they didn’t answer. STILL NO ANSWER.Seems they pay more attention on the Google reviews then answering there phones. Thanks for a sick lizard scales and tales.

Went to scales and tails today 12/3 on powers and constitution and had the worst experience ever!! The guy made assumptions that we didn’t know what we were asking or doing by saying “do you even own snakes” we then asked to see the womah python and was told that the snake “will bite me so if you aren’t going to buy it then I am not gonna get bit, so I’ll only show you if you want to buy it” we then asked for a frozen rat and was told “ we don’t do frozen, can you imagine taking your child to a dr and them telling you to only feed your child frozen food?” We explained to him we have a very skinny albino ball python who needs to eat cause it is refusing to and he then proceeded to tell me that “I have seen boas go off feed for a year and they do just fine” this man number one knows nothing about me, my daughter or the snake we are trying to assist feed and gave us advice as if he knew our situation. He then assumes that since we don’t look like the typical snake owners we must not have any experience with them in addition made us feel like we didn’t have enough money to but a snake that we wanted to look at.My 17 year old daughter loves her snakes and we own 6 and she was highly put off by the way this man talked to us. I would stay clear of SCALES AND TAILS and yes I plan of slathering this review on every reptile page I can find since it was not the first time they have been rude and uninviting.

They literally sell the cheapest products imaginable. Great animals, but everything else is cheap. I bought a setup that the guy UPSOLD me on. Even when I tried telling him I wanted something else.The light he said I had to have got so hot that it melted the top of the enclosure that they upsold me for my Red Tailed Boas.The light they said, with the tank they said, melted. The next day, someone else there told me that "they expect people to have common sense and not put those 2 together."I'm not sure what to do or how to rate it because I loved this place until this.

Purchased a tomato frog today from scales and tales and couldn’t be happier! The gentlemen with the gages and lip ring was very knowledgeable in pointing me In the right direction for care! Was very thorough in answering not only questions about the frog but there tarantulas they had as well! All the cages were cleaned and the animals looked very happy! I will be returning not only for bugs for all my reptiles but for a tarantula when I’m ready! Please if you love your reptiles I suggest scales and tales!
