Great customer service with a smile, as always.It was my first time at the location, and I was surprised to see two buildings on either side of the parking lot. As I spoke to one of the associates, I was told it was a concept/test for REI to have merchandise split based on category, which should give a more roomy ambiance.I think this is good if they have the space; the store felt wide, open, and easy to navigate around, vs. having everything put together in a small building.

You can tell by the snow coming down that these REI workers are braving the elements as they work on the Yakima EXO System on my car. 5 stars for customer service in the middle of a Colorado winter!

I bought 2 bicycles- one for my grandson - and one for myself!!! EVERYONE at REI bike shop made this expensive experience FUN! Mike, Michael, Cassie, Q, Richard, Chris... were WONDERFUL! They helped me pick out a cute little bell for my grandson... and set him up with a cute water bottle/cage. Thank you everyone!!!

Great, high-quality products - I was there for Snow Boots, Hiking boots and Hiking Shoes. Loads of choices - manufacturers and styles. Limited sizes, but its 2 days before Christmas. Didn't matter, I got exactly what I wanted.Prices are on the high side, but the shoes were on a great sale.Service was great even though my salesperson had to help me and another woman simultaneously.

Horrible experience! They treated me & my fiance like we were thieves. They weren't friendly to us, watched us like hawks & all came out towards front door as if we were stealing & I spent a lot of $$. Only the cashier was polite, it was a very offensive experience

In general, there is no current written policy about taking pictures in REI stores.06/24/2021Update- Over the last two years I have spent a portion of my paycheck here. Today I was told I am not allowed to take photos of merchandise.I was unable to determine if it was the store employees' policy or the store's policy not to take photos. When I asked if they would like for me to take down a REI google photo that had 98,000 views, or the others that total half a million views, they squirmed and would not commit.The second employee took my information and said they would reach out to corporate for me. She was concerned I was taking pictures of people. I willingly showed her my merchandise photos to demonstrate there were no people in my shots.The managers "were in a meeting" and unable to talk to me.I am still awaiting my answer from corporate from the store employee and the email I sent them in regards to photographs of merchandise.2019Spoke with Steve-Dave and Kelly about various outdoor items necessary for a backpacking trip. All were exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. The store is well laid out and the products are high quality. There was no pressure to purchase anything. I will be returning soon!

Like almost every REI I’ve visited, this place is great! They machine wax my snowboard for free every time I come up to visit family in the Springs. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and during the pandemic they are very diligent about protecting their customers from people like previous reviewer J. C. Spencer (I’m glad you’ll no longer be visiting this store J.C.; that makes my family and me feel much safer).

I went here to get some trail shoes. I don't like to slide around while hiking so I needed something with great traction. The two people in the shoe department that helped me were super knowledgeable about the products offered. They helped me get the right fit and the right shoe for my needs. Additionally, my husband needed waterproof shoes and the salesmen who helped his was very quick to help.

I have never experienced worst customer service in my entire life. The manager on duty was rude and instead of trying to be helpful she just wanted to escalate. I know I shouldn’t paint all REI’s with the same brush but I’ll have a hard time ever patronizing this organization again. Disgusted.

Don't rent snowshoes from here. I didn't get back in time to drop off. They used to allow you to drop off the following day after you used them, like ski rentals. Guess not anymore. Charged me an extra day. No one in rentals said anything when I picked them up.

Needed a pair of pants, some shoes and a jacket after flight got cancelled. Spend an hour waiting for help and trying on a couple pair of pants. Get to counter and they wouldn’t sell me shoes unless I signed up for $30/year membership. Gave it two stars since they ultimately saved me $300 by going somewhere else.

Good place to get gear. Fun thing is finding stuff on clearance or at discounted prices. Have found some good quality stuff discounted just because it was a customer return. Bought my Kayak from them, best pick up of the summer no regrets. They also rent gear like bikes and kayaks. So if space is an issue, maybe renting for that weekend adventure is the way to go. Check out their website for more used gear and discounts. Plus they have great hats. I bought my brown adventure hat there. It fits great and keeps the sun off your head. Probably the best hat I own. The staff is always nice and knowledgeable. Only problem is the local store is in Colorado Springs.

REI Bike shop is by far the best experience in town. Their friendly, knowledgeable staff are always looking for ways to serve better and keep costs minimal. My REI membership has saved me so much money and not having to deal with long wait times for bike maintenance.

Smaller than a lot of other REIs I’ve visited. Hand sanitizer everywhere and they enforce both a mask and one-out-one-in policy very strictly so expect a line out the front and to wait about 10 minutes to get into the store. Less stock of camping chairs than a normal REI (Helios brand wasn’t even present). Lines to get into the footwear section and a limited number of change rooms are open (so they can sanitize between them).

I went to check out and was treated like an inconvenience. I asked the cashier how he was doing and he looked me straight in the eyes and ignored me. I’ve never felt so disrespected for just trying to start a conversation. In the past I’ve had my bike serviced here and not even 10 minutes into my ride the brake pads fell out of my bike. I am lucky to be alive.

The worker that helped us was super nice and helpful. But we were informed that REI is integrating their men's and women's shoes. It made it incredibly confusing to figure out what shoe belonged to which gender. It's never a good thing to go woke, kids. We will not be coming back 🤷🏼‍♀️

About two years ago, my husband and I bought a new mountain bike. It had a few issues and they apologized, offering us a tune up voucher to make up for what they called “assembly issues”—I did not realize they didn’t document the original issues with the bike.Recently we tried to return it because the original issues were never resolved despite them trying to fix it many times. Granted, we had to replace a few derailleur discs from our own use and are outside the one year return window, but when asked to return it because the original issues were never resolved, they denied us because those issues weren’t documented.Overall REI has been wonderful, but I’m shocked at how poorly this situation was handled!

The bike and ski shop is very poorly laid out. It's unclear where the checkout lines start. The signage is poor. Also, the wait to check out took an unreasonable amount of time because there aren't enough registers for checkout or people working the checkout.
