Really great care of most animals, especially the reptiles. You can tell their animal care lead truly places the animals above all else. However, when I went into the aquatic section their African dwarf frogs were extremely emaciated, with one having already passed. These frogs have poor eyesight and need their food to be placed right in front of them, and they're not competitive either so other tank mates will take their food. They were placed with glo skirt tetras which are voracious eaters, so it's no wonder they're not getting food. Please relocate your dwarf frogs and make sure they're getting their food :/ it was very upsetting to walk in and see this

The staff was friendly. My two shih tzus had the pleasure of being groomed by Becca. She provided me with details of how they would need to be cut due to matting. Did not shame me for that like a lot of other groomers would. There were no surprises which I really appreciated. She was very open and honest. It’s hard to find that kind of care and customer service these days so I would highly recommend if you want your pups to get kind and quality care.

**If you take your pup to Petco for grooming on Prominent point by Target, I hope this reaches you.***What I believe was a Papillon, (because of its adorable ears, but I’m not certain) was being groomed yesterday around 11:30-12:00 when I popped in to grab some treats for our doodles. My twins noticed a few dogs being groomed and asked to watch for a second. The dog being groomed noticed us watching and it’s sweet ears perked up so big. We smiled! What I saw next had me in tears. The groomer, (front and center on display to the public, not knowing we were watching) yanked its beard back so hard, I was shocked. This man then started tearing through the beard and face of this sweet pup, this dog showed zero disobedience towards him, I was really surprised the dog didn’t fight or bite back.Hey, I’m no groomer, just an animal lover so I won’t pretend to know what you’re suppose to, or not suppose to do when it comes to grooming, all I know is I saw a clear case of disrespect, and lack of compassion towards that dog. The groomer and I made eye contact, I’m sure my face said how disgusted I was, he knew I saw how he was treating that animal (later to find out his name is Adrian per the check out employee) he mouthed something to another female groomer then took the dog to the back, maybe because he was done, I don’t know.I went to check out my items, asked if the register clerk was a manager, she shook her shoulders as if to say, “meh, kinda sort of.” I asked if I could share my frustration with her. “Sure,” she said. I told her what I saw, asked for the groomers name and said I’ll never let my dogs be groomed by this man. Her response, “ok.” Call me sensitive, I waited in the parking lot for 20+ minutes so upset, hoping the owner would pop out with their pup. No luck. I looked online for a place to write a review, no luck. I literally haven’t been able to stop thinking about that dog and the way it was poorly handled.Adrian, if this happens to reach you, I don’t think you’re in the right profession buddy! I will make sure you NEVER touch my dogs. Petco, you can do better!

Bought three salt water fish here. About 3 weeks later one died from disease. I applied a treatment for the suspected disease, and the other two seem to be thriving. New tank, so likely the fish came sick. Overall happy with my experience, but if I add more fish I'll try a different store I think.Im new to saltwater fish, so I can't say if this is bad or common.

This is my go-to big box pet store. Best one in the area in my opinion. I have exotic birds and tropical fish, great place to swing by and grab my essentials.

I usually have a great time shopping here. The older gentleman at the checkout is extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant encounter today with the lady at the checkout. I wish I had gotten her name. She clearly was having a bad day but it seems every time I come here and she is the one checking me out she is also having a bad day. If you don’t like your job so much maybe you should find something better suited for you, perhaps not working with the public. Choosing to talk to your coworker only to stop to say “you don’t need a receipt right” and when I ask to have one emailed you roll your eyes and sigh loudly and snap at me to verify my email then continue your conversation with your coworker with your back turned completely away from me was rude and uncalled for. The older gentleman is a gem though and is the only reason I kept the review at 3 stars instead of 1.

I took my 8 week old baby Peanut to get her first shots. Let me tell you, we got phenomenal service! Great professional staff with loving and caring attitude! We surely booked a follow up and recommend this Petco!

Just bought 4 male guinea pigs from here and they are all so sweet and loving. Theu answered any questions I had and were very patient with my children as they picked which one they wanted. Great place to buy new pets!

If zero was an option that’s what I would give this store. I brought my dog for grooming. When we dropped him off we very specifically said we did not want him shaved. The manger checked him while we were checking him in and said she only felt a couple small mats and they would call if there was a need to go shorter than we’d requested.To my surprise when I picked him up he not only was shaved but his coat wasn’t even even. I called to speak to a manager and she began to make excuses and justify what their employee had done. Eventually I realized the phone conversation wasn’t going to go anywhere and I hung up.We had an appointment for our other dog the next morning. Against my better judgment but needing a cut and shampoo my husband took out other dog. In the following morning. When he arrived, the manager I had spoken with the previous afternoon refused him service “because of how your wife acted yesterday”.Never once did I raise my voice with this woman. If calling and complaining about a service received is grounds to refuse someone service they lost a customer for life. Part of life, especially working in a service industry is being able to deal with negative feedback.

The Perco that I go to is next to a Target and in an area surrounded by apartments and new homes. There is a huge potential for Petxo, since it is the only pet store within walking distance of the apartments, and Walmart is 3 miles away and the next pet store is 6 miles away. The employees were helpful and friendly and one guy was doing all of the heavy lifting of large bags of food. Unfortunately other employees need to know what to do if he is not around, the store itself seems old and twenty years dated. I felt when I walked in that you could not put another display up and still walk around the store. The isles are overflowing with pet food, and overflow on carts blocking islands, the get your own litter display needs to be retired. The store reminds me of an old livestock store you would find in a rural community, minus the two old guys playing checkers or sitting around. The store has the potential to be a huge money maker being next to a large apt with pet owners who have no transportation, I get the feeling the employees like it this way since they stay busy enough that it justify a them not spending their time cleaning, but not so busy that they have to work any harder then occasionally having more then two people to ring up items, I wish they would only keep only a few bags of dood on shelves and not try and put out all the stock on display.

Employees are respectful but you can tell they don't GAF. PAY THEM MORE and maybe they won't seem like they're just waiting for the end of their shift. Seriously, some stressed out individuals running the place. Also your app sucks.

This is more about the grooming salon. Our dog had a previous groomer hurt him while he got his nails trimmed in November. Said groomer did not tell us and since then it has been a horrible ordeal to get his nails done. The ladies here worked with him, gave him loads of treats and he came out pretty relaxed and with nicely trimmed nails. We will be back!!!!

The store is smaller than most of them. The fish section is the best for Petco in Colorado springs. The tanks are immaculate and the selection especially for salt water is always great.

I love being able to order my dogs food online and pick up in store. I am handicapped, I was disappointed that the young girl at the cash register wasn’t friendly like most employees are. She opened a cabinet pointed at the stack of bags and said those are yours, and walked away. There wasn’t any one else around to ask for help. I went to grab a cart and somehow got the bags into the cart. This is the first time that I was not offered help with my bags (one was 50lbs). Next time I will request car service.

I'll shop at Petco but not this particular location. In the past, whenever I've picked up dog food, I was always helped with the order as far as bringing it to my car. This particular person, who verified my order, wasn't very friendly nor helpful. The email sent to inform the order is ready states that it will be transported to my car.

Today I was driving for Doordash and a young lady,I didn't get her name, helped me with a bag of dog food. I had just had a hernia surgery and was unable to lift it due to my lifting restrictions. My name is Jason I was wearing a grey YMCA t-shirt and khaki short. I am bald and nearly 50 with glasses. That young lady was friendly and very helpful. Thank you so much.

I've had been to this locations plenty of times. For my dog items, everything it great! They always have everything I need. For my birds. Selection for food/toys/treats are amazing. But as far as the fish department........ disappointment. Absolutely none of the lights in the tanks were working. There was water all over they place. I wish I caught that guy's name but made the experience so awful!! So many fish were dead! BUY FISH SOMEWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!

Would give ZERO stars if I could! Staff and MANAGEMENT are extremely rude. Left me waiting over TWENTY minutes for help. ARGUED with me over the wait and made nothing but excuses. 'We have hundreds of people every day just looking at fish', bit NEVER ASKED OR EVEN SAID HELLO! Just rudely pushed past me. MANAGER made more excuses of 'we are all frazzled and short staffed'. There were FIVE associates! I have been treated better in other BUSIER petstores with LESS staff. I have NEVER been treated so rudely. I will NEVER be back. FIRE your rude staff and retrain in customer service.

They have previously made my dog wait in a kennel even though we had an appointment even after I told them he doesn’t do well in those especially when in a strange place. He needs a little extra love to help him adapt. I had to come and pick him up before the grooming even started 20-25 minutes after we had arrived for the appointment and after I told them that he doesn’t do well in a kennel. They left him in there nearly a half an hour by the time I got back. He was completely traumatized.Then, they asked me to pay extra for a “VIP” service to make sure he doesn’t have to wait (I thought that what reservations are for) when we brought him back.Then, after I paid extra to have his appointment actually start on time, they told me that they couldn’t have him back because he was too nervous.He does get nervous but I’ve never had an issue getting him groomed before anywhere else..ever. No one has ever told me they couldn’t get him groomed because he was too nervous.I came to PETCO because of the convenience (appointment availability, location) but I will tell everyone other dog owner I know to avoid PETCO at all cost because of the terrible service and lack of compassion for a special dog that needs a little extra care and love. Utterly disgraceful and uncaring staff.

Great store. My only complaint is they don't carry a lot of items in store. Yes, you can order so many more things online, but that doesn't help if you need it right away. They have an awesome return policy- even with slightly outdated receipts they've always let me exchange items

All the marine fish show signs of Cryptocaryon Irritans. And, the feeder fish are “sick and not for sale.”What kinda store can’t keep comet goldfish and rosy minnows??? Never seen that before.First thing I’m doing after this is canceling VitalCare, and I won’t come back to a big box store for livestock. What a joke.
