I want to give a big shout out to Cat/Kat who works for Petco. I was in last week and purchased items for a new dog I had adopted that day, she was so sweet and kind directing me towards the items I was looking for. Well, the owner of that dog changed her mind the next day and asked for her back. Saddened, I returned her. Today I went to return an item I had purchased for her, Cat was working and remembered me. I explained what happened and Cat, without missing a beat, asked if I wanted a hug. I immediately accepted, her hug was sincere and heartfelt. I appreciate her kindness and greatly enjoyed her energy. I’d love to thank her with coffee sometime. She’s awesome!

Every time I go in to get crickets for my lizard, the staff is always super friendly, and helpful. There's been a couple of bathroom emergencies with my son and they always made sure to help my son as quickly as they can. My son is 6. The staff has always been super supportive as well. I love coming to this store. They will have a regular for a long time. 😊

Savannah is a really good groomer! She’s very patient with a crazy energetic westie. She’s asks the right questions about details and has good suggestions. She’s clearly a “dog” person. Our westie followed her right into the grooming area and he rarely trusts strangers. Appreciate how easy and quickly an appointment can be made on the Petco website. The cost is comparable. Nice to be able to shop for pet supplies in the same location. Nice clean shop.

Me and my daughter visited the Petco store recently to look for a new furry friend. Our little Venus, a delightful Syrian hamster, has quickly stolen our hearts, although Petco had the most adorable hamsters. It was def A HARD DECISION. The staff at Petco were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, providing us with all the information we needed to ensure that Venus would have a comfortable and happy life with us. They walked us through the various types of hamster cages, bedding, food, and toys, and even gave us a few helpful tips on how to best care for our lil' fur-ball. Since then Venus has settled into her new home beautifully, and we are grateful to Petco for making our experience so wonderful.

I like this PetCo. The only thing I wish was different was their hours of operation. PetCo doesn’t open until 0900, ironically that is when 90% of the world has to be to work. I, like many Soldiers/Veterans prefer to get my errands done in the morning.This PetCo and the parking lot also gets pretty hectic and crowed in the afternoon. Again, I, like many people don’t like running errands after work. After work we want to go home, unwind, relax and spend time with our families. I’d also have to say on the weekends, this area/plaza gets quite packed which can be stressful; at times it’s even hard to find handicapped parking. It would be nicer if shops opened at 07/08 allowing people like me to get what we need before work. I’m not saying they need to be fully staffed, but having 2-3 workers that arrive early to open at 0700 might benefit, especially for the disabled.

Great customer service! Great dog training! Our Field Golden has recently graduated from an Adult Dog training class. She is a distracted younger adult golden. The trainer, Mandy, did extremely well with our dog...and helped us correct our behavior that was causing issues with our dogs hyperactivity. Our dog is more focused and well behaved. Awesome job Mandy!!!

Cashier was very nice, no rush even though the line was long. The associates restocking were helpful and kind. Loved that the store was clean even with dog training going on. Overall would recommend coming here to stock up on your pets food.

You try and let the store know about a degenerate wandering around the store harassing and exposing themselves to customers and get a snotty manager whose brilliant idea of customer service is "what do you want us to do about it?" rather than simply thanking you for your concern and taking action/stating they've taken care of it (something the initial associate I spoke with did do, why I got handed off to their miserable upper management remains unknown to me). Tells me everything I need to know about this location. Might need a shift in leadership.

A few employees are very nice BUT They do not take care of their fish. Many were dead a few times coming into the store. My son still wanted to try to save one but unfortunately could not. Two other fish that were bought there also passed away. We usually buy fish from PetSmart and they last forever! We will not be going back to Petco.

I go to a number of the Petco stores in colorado springs, so I'm not sure the specific petco this is about, but if it is for the Colorado Springs - Central store on Nevada, they are the best by far. The store is one of the cleanest, most well maintained with one of the most friendly staffs. They go above and beyond for customers. We are there enough to see other customer interactions and appreciate how consistent they are in offering everyone a high level of service.

Was looking for a 'cat t-shirt' the vet at Banfield next door suggested. The staff showed us 3 different areas where they "might" be - all were no where near each other. Turns out there were exactly 2 - at absurd prices! Won't go there again!

You have a beautiful and excellent aquarium dept. The women who assisted me was very helpful and knowledgeable. There is a much fuller selection than other fish. I was very impressed with the fish selection

If you need your dog's nails clipped, and you don't like to do it yourself, try the grooming "salon" at Petco in University Village and ask for Elizabeth. Vivie is quite fearful of new people and new situations, but had her nails successfully clipped and buffed in less than 10 minutes without incident. Whew! Thank you, Elizabeth!- Gail and Vivie

Kat, the employee who was working the cash register, had a snake wrapped around her neck. I hate snakes and will avoid them at all costs! I actually didn’t notice it until I was checking out and when she made a comment about being a power lifter and “he” likes the warmth of her neck. I’m done. My heart started to race. I paid, grab the dog food I bought, and ran. I will not shop at Petco any more. I’m going back to PetSmart.

✨✨✨BEWARE✨✨✨⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️I purchased snake items from here for my exotic 2~snakes. Not knowing at the time the “wood” we purchased for them as a home or cover inside the tank was INFESTED with little tiny black bugs! I’ve been doing everything that the vet said to try and help them, which was the spray for mites & completely clean and clear the tank. Constantly cleaning and spraying bathing!! DONE! I’m still fighting the little tiny black bugs..... the cinnamon boy in the bowl..they just lost his life💔 my one year one exotic Zeus......💔💔💔💔 between all of this I let them know what was going on. How my babies we’re fine till I purchased this wood home from their store. Not only do they NOT CARE & said it’s not their problem but have done nothing to help their store with this problem!! RIDICULOUS UNCARING PEOPLE

Came to get dog food (which they are always so good to have in stock). There was a fun holiday display with different things that I noticed and stopped to look at on the way out, and the cashier, very merrily, called out, "They're 50% off!". I ended up getting back in line and buying 2 items from the display. Normally, I would have just walked by, but she was just so cheerful!

The employees are amazing and was very patient while we made our decision. We got to see some awesome animals and picked out our new hamster named winter and was able to get her new home and everything we needed for her. So excited for our new journey. Thank you Petco.

Extremely understaffed. Took 30 min to get help with animals. Didn't have anything I needed. ball pythons are on Aspen and one had stuck shed all over its body. Multiple solitary animals with multiple of the same animals. Uromastyx were on calcium sand and had a water bowl in their cage (they get their hydration from fruits and veggies) and they were being fed bird food!!! Not a single reptile had the proper food in their enclosure except for daysss old and rotten veggies in some. monitor also had stuck shed all over its body. Every single enclosure had 0%humidity despite most of them being tropical. This is not the first time I have had issues with this locations care. If you care about animals dogs, cats, birds, rodents reptiles alike DO NOT SHOP HERE. corporate needs to do better but the employees make the difference. Speak up about what they actually need and care for them properly or find a new job.

Came in to buy crickets for our pet frogs. I got helped by an employee in the first few minutes. I usually have to look ALL over for help, because in my experience PETCO is ALWAYS understaffed.
