We brought our 12 (yes 12) 10 week old LGD puppies for vaccines and exams. At 20 lbs each, their staff was so helpful in helping us carry them in and get weights. The whole process was stress free and enjoyable. Just because there was 12 did not mean they rushed through the exams. They were thorough on the first through the last. I love their staff and the way they take care of their clients and animals. I recommend them to all my new puppy parents and our own friends and family.

We have had several dogs go to Black Forest Veterinary over the years and we’ve always had excellent service. The front desk staff have always been friendly, patient and courteous to me and my family. We typically see Dr. Liebers and she always puts us at ease, answering all our questions, giving rational advice, and making sure our dogs get great care. She makes sure we are all on the same page with any procedures and she is transparent about all the details and pricing. We love the small town feeling of this vet and will continue to see them for years to come.

We’ve been going to Black Forest Veterinary for nearly a year now and couldn’t be more pleased with the care.We have a home full of fur babies ranging from 1 year old to 15 years old.Our three cats and dog have never been stressed while under their care. Two of our cats typically are stressed at the vet, but they haven’t shown any signs thus far. I believe kudos goes to the awesome care Black Forest Vet gives! We wouldn’t think of going anywhere else!!

We woke up at 7 am and our dog had pooped liquid blood really badly in our opinion. They had us an appointment made at 9:30 am as soon as we called. We waited less than 20 minutes to be seen after arriving. They were wonderful with our pup and very reasonable/realistic with pricing. I couldn’t not be happier with this visit and the friendliness of the staff. <3 thank you so much Black Forest vet!

The staff here are friendly, it's affordable, all vets and vet techs we have seen are knowledgeable and helpful, and our dog has really mixed feelings about this place because she gets shots here but she also gets lots of love and attention from everybody whenever we go in. We have been taking our dog here for almost a decade and are very happy. There are closer options but we feel the drive is worth it. We have never had any issues with scheduling or billing. I wish they treated humans, I'd take my whole family here (joking, not joking)!

My 8 pound rescue chihuahua had a HORRIBLE experience this morning with Dr. Holcombe prior to getting her teeth cleaned.About 2 hours after I dropped her off, I got a call from Dr. Holcombe stating they had to use a catch pole prior to her being sedated because she was running around and trying to bite staff. Dr. Holcombe said that because of this, “she has a few injuries.”.Dr. Holcombe stated this wouldn’t have happened if I had given her sedation meds prior to coming in. However, they were not used at the last visit and we had no conversation about doing this. I told her I should’ve stayed with her but Dr. Holcomb said that would not have mattered and that all that would’ve helped was giving her medication. Dr. Holcombe was rude and took no responsibility for the situation.When I picked her up a few hours later, she had blood on her nose and her right eye was bright red (see picture below). The vet tech stated the eye injury and the bloody nose were from pressure applied using the catch collar.I think any vet office should have safe and humane procedures in place for rescue animals with a known history of abuse and neglect who can be unpredictable in stressful situations. I should have been allowed to stay with her and this would’ve made a huge difference.I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS OFFICE!

I appreciate their friendly and professional knowledge for your pet and you.They don’t give you a one option only approach and work within your comfort zone when prescribing medication. My boyfriend and I recently rescued a dog from the humane society, and I called a few vets around town that I found to have great reviews to schedule a wellness exam with the specific concern of some nose discharge. When I scheduled the appointment, I felt so confident in this clinic as Melissa was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions. She explained that I had to put down a $72 deposit that would only be used if we were to need medication or additional services as the first wellness exam is fully covered by the Humane Society as long as we bring the paperwork but the deposit is required for new patients. If we left without needing additional medication or services, we would have the deposit left on our account to apply to a future service through the clinic. She also provided navigation steps to go to a back room that is more secluded in the case that he is contagious. The only thing that ended up being true was the room number/navigation provided.When we were let in to the back room, the vet assistant was so beyond unwelcoming. When we were providing background information we had from the Animal Shelter and our one week with him, she asked questions that rubbed us the wrong way. She even made a comment about how no one has cleaned/washed him, and we felt the need to explain that we have to wait 1-2 more days based on what the humane society told us regarding his dissolvable stitches from being neutered. Very uncomfortable situation from the start. When the vet came back, they only looked at his nose and respiratory airway As opposed to doing a full wellness check. They suggested over the counter nasal sprays but then proceeded to make one and charged us for the medication on top of the appointment. When questioning why the deposit does not cover the cost of the medication as that’s what was explained to me, the vet assistant told me the humane society often doesn’t know what they are talking about and provide us with inaccurate information, and I explained that this was told to me by both the humane society as well as the person who scheduled my appointment through their clinic. To which she told me that she’s not sure who scheduled my appointment and it would only be covered if this was a wellness exam as opposed to a sick patient. He ended up not even being sick, and I was told I was scheduling a wellness exam from the start, and that they would look at his nose on top of that. I was so disappointed to find out that I was either lied to by the receptionist or the vet tech. It’s not the money, it’s the principle. I would pay thousands for my dog if the time calls for that, but they double charged me and didn’t even provide the full services I was told we would receive. SO BEYOND DISAPPOINTED with the lack of professionalism and care by the veterinary staff I encountered here.

Over the last year, our dogs have gone to Black Forest Veterinary and we have always had excellent service. The front desk staff is friendly, caring, and supportive. We have seen different doctors and all of them are knowledgeable, caring, loving, trustworthy, and thorough. They answer all our questions. We never feel rushed. We love this veterinary. We will continue to be their client for years to come.

Best vet in a 30 mile radius. Everyone loves and treats pets with respect. Everyone does there job every time. Always cleaning and making sure everything is in order. Not to mention they are very understanding and have reasonable prices

No follow up on anything suggested or prescribed (medicine). How is my pet doing? Are there any other health needs that need addressed to restore the quality of life for my pet? Who knows. I now have to go somewhere else to get these answers.

The clinic does a great job, it is pricey! But I think all Vet services are becoming that way. The front office staff messed up our appointment scheduling but they attempted to make it right. We still use this business, they are better than our last!

Was received by hellos and smiles in lobby and did not have to wait for a technician. My fur baby was examined and given yearly vaccines & I didn't have a long wait time before being seen. I am writing to express our deep concerns regarding the dental care provided to our beloved dog, Mocha, at Black Forest Veterinary Clinic. Despite our repeated mentions of Mocha’s bad breath during several visits, the issue was not adequately addressed, leading to a loss of trust in the clinic’s services.After seeking a second opinion from another veterinary service, they recommended a teeth cleaning for Mocha, which ultimately resulted in the extraction of ten of her teeth. We strongly believe that this extensive dental work could have been avoided with an earlier recommendation for teeth cleaning.Considering the circumstances, we find it necessary to discuss the financial implications of Mocha’s extractions. We believe that Black Forest Veterinary Clinic should be held liable for the bill associated with the extractions, as we had raised concerns about Mocha’s dental health during previous visits.

I was able to schedule appointment for my dog the same day I called office. They set me up for a 3:30PM visit and had exam and procedure(s) complete in 30 minutes. Friendly/knowledgable Technician and Vet. Thoroughly examined my dog and addressed reason for appointment.

Very unhappy this visit. My service dog never leaves my side and never goes back without me. They’ve always let me stay with him. The tech told me this time in would have to stay in the waiting area because they had to draw his blood (part of his check-up). I told her no, he does not go back by himself and she went on to argue with me. Of course I went with them and he got his blood drawn and weighed - no issues, but really??

Editing to add that getting medication filled at their own pharmacy that their own vet prescribed has been almost impossible. One employee reassures me that it’s “being taken care of” only for the next employee to tell me, 4 days later, that it hasn’t even been looked at. They gave me 30 pills of the 120 that were prescribed (and paid for) and said the rest would be mailed to me. That was a month ago. They gave me enough pills for 2 weeks. Our dog is now having symptoms again for her hypothyroidism, which requires two pills a day for the rest of her life. It’s disappointing to be given the run around every time we ask about the medication.Quality service in record time. No waiting around wondering when someone will come into the exam room. The Vet communicates clearly and listens to our concerns.

Dr Holcomb performed a dental procedure on my ShihTzu and removed 4 moles which were giving our groomer fits. She called with good information and said our dog would be able to go home in a shorter time period than I had thought. Dr Holcomb called the next morning to see how she was feeling and asked if I had any concerns or questions. I appreciate the attention given to our girl and have been very happy with their service.
