Bad customer service!Lazy people working at this store not helping the customers.A young man said hello to me when I walked in, so I asked him to help me with 10 things I needed to buy. He started to point where things were, so I asked him to please take me around and show me where things are since I am not familiar with this store.I usually shop in Aspen where I always receive great customer service, especially from Tony, but today I was in Carbondale so decided to shop at this store ** HUGE MISTAKE***The young white boy didn't know where the merchandise were so he took me on a wild goose chase around the store. There were 3 lazy employees talking to each other instead of helping me or other customers.I asked for a plunger, he refused to show me where it was so I found on my own.There were several plungers with a $5.99 price tag on the shelf.After I paid for my purchased I noticed on the receipt that the man at the cashier charged $8.99, so I asked him why? He said, "I charged whatever the scanner says".I told him the price is $5.99, so I asked him to check on the price, he sends another young hispanic boy to check on it, and the price on the shelves says $5.99, see photo.The guy at the cashier says "some customers move things around", I told him there were 6 plungers one in front of the other on the shelf with this price, so clearly the price is not $8.99 but $5.99.I said to him, "You are overcharging me $3 dollars, that's false advertising and you are robbing me."Now the guy at the register has to credit my entire bill, then charge it again. So unprofessional.He was an older gentleman, he couldn't see the computer screen well, he didn't know how to work the computer and he is slow.I am patiently waiting.Then I realized he charged me $8.99 and $5.99, so now he is charging me twice for the plunger.That's when he finally called one of the lazy people to help him, a hispanic young girl came to help and she did all on the computer in seconds.Why do this store have lazy inexperienced people working there?There are millions of Americans without a job, these people have a job and they don't want to help a customer that's going to buy a lot of things from the store.And by the way they didn't have half of the things I needed, so I am going to buy online this way I don't have to deal with lazy, unfriendly, slow people.The manager of this store needs to teach the employees how to treat their customers.I always like to support local stores, but it's hard to do when people are treating me so bad and making me so stressed out.Look at this photo of the plungers, the price clearly says $5.99.

The cashier Helen is kind of rude. Be sure to watch your prices at checkout. Had numerous occasions where the price on the shelf doesn’t match what they ring up at the register, seems to be a tactic of theirs. I realized this when I almost paid $9.99 for an impulse buy of a Lipton Tea, you know the big ones that are $1.99 at any convenience store..told Helen that was crazy and I didn’t want it after all, she said “well,it’s a pretty big bottle of tea” lol no thanks. After reading some other reviews about pricing confusion I am convinced this is a tactic of this store.

Horrible customer service. My husband dropped off his chainsaw on July 14 to have 2 chains sharpened and the bar checked. He called on Aug 7 and they told him they had sent it to their store in Clifton. He called there. They didn't have it. It turned out it was still in Cdale but they hadn't done anything. They said it would be done on Aug 8. I made a special trip to pick it up on Aug 9, but only one chain had been sharpened. I waited 2 hrs for Brett to sharpen the other chain. He never apologized for their snafus and mistakes. He never thanked me for my business. I do not recommend using the Ace repair services.

Bought a Stihl and it didn't work. Brought it back four days later. They tried to fix it and were unable to. I asked for money back and they say it is up not up to them but up to Stihl so though I had it for 4 days I couldn't return it for a refund. They say it is fixed. One month after purchasing.

I had never been in this store before, was absolutely shocked by how rude Helen the cashier was. Her scoff and laugh when I came back to return some screws spoke volumes, as well as becoming indignant when I didn't know the price of the replacement screws I brought to the counter. I was particularly not a fan of her game "ask the customer why they're returning this item several times in a row". This was only outdone by the other person who I checked out with originally, younger guy dark hair, just completely annoyed and upset that he had to do something. Normally I would not take the time to write one of these, but I was astonished and dumbfounded by the horrible behavior of these employees. All that being said, an older grey haired gentleman was very kind and helpful when I was looking for parts, as well as a young hispanic man. Both of them were very great. The cashiers, however, went out of their way to be rude, unhelpful and just outright wastes of space. Almost excited to go back just to see how the store can somehow function this way every day. I promise I will come back as often as possible in attempts to return the favor.

I went to the Ace store in Carbondale and Brett was extremely helpful. I was searching for a chainsaw and he helped me get set up with everything I would need while also helping me save money. Brett is a professional and I am very grateful for his guidance. Jose also helped me check out and was very kind and helpful as well. I highly recommend going to this store and asking for Brett or Jose.

They were very friendly and helpful at the store. The store was clean and well kept. They didn't have everything in some particular sections, but at least I found one thing I was looking for which I was having trouble finding. I would go back here if I needed something else.

Mediocre-at-best in most categories, and absolutely abysmal when it comes to customer service. I thought Ace was supposed to be the helpful place. You better know exactly what you need before you walk in here, don't expect any helpful or knowledgeable employees. Nearly everyone is certainly nice enough, and I'm sure they would help you if they knew how. But they don't. Save your money and your time, just go to Lowe's.

Ordered a grill and scheduled delivery for a day I would be home. The store dropped it off on a random day when I was not home and left it unattended sitting outside my apartment building. I then had to hire someone to help move it into my apartment.

I am conflicted on this review.Overall this is the smallest Ace I've ever seen with almost no selection.However. This is the most helpful hardware store in the mountain areas. It's service is good and selection good for the mountain stores, with very fast checkout line with the staff mostly knowing what you need.So overall:4/5 Customer Service.3/5 Selection5/5 Location.And overall the best mountain based hardware store

This is the worst Ace Hardware I have ever been to. Their employees aren't very helpful or knowledgeable when it comes to in store products.If they want lessons on how to run a store they should go to the Ace Hardware in Hotchkiss. That store might be smaller but they have a wide variety of stuff, plus almost every time you go in there one of the staff asks if you need help and they usually know where stuff is.

It didn't have what I needed the past two times I've gone. I needed some insect killer for my house plants, They didn't have anything past wasps killer for insect control.If you need anything extremely basic they have it... Maybe.

I ordered an item that was not in stock. I was given a date that they said it would be there. I didn't hear from them so I called them the next day. A man named Cody was extremely rude and with many Heavy Sighs told me that If it were there, they would have called. I asked him to please check for me. He was agitated and rude and repeated what he had already said. Very poor customer service! I will never use this store again! Maggie Shaw~disappointed in Carbondale!

Ok for small odds and ends you might need in a hurry, 'cos they probably have it, but this place is expensive.If what you need is likely to cost more than just a few bucks, it's worth the drive to Glenwood.

No help. Went in to get an ACE paint matched. I had the old can. The new paint was not a match. I asked Cody to get it right. 2 days and 2 phone calls later, got a refund and left without the paint. POOR customer service. No desire to make it right. If ACE can't match there own paint, then who can? Oh that's right. Just about anyone!!

They have what you need when you are in Carbondale, many items can be purchased for less in Glenwood Springs but if you don't feel like making the drive this is the place.
