Wow. Amazing team. We are relatively new to the area and hadn't established with a vet yet. Had a last minute quasi-emergency with our German Shepard near closing time. Dr DeAngelo and Dr Carver, plus the techs Albert and Carrie all stuck around to help Charley out. Nobody seemed bothered by our late arrival, Charley got a thorough exam and we established a treatment plan. Dr DeAngelo even called to check on him the next morning. It's rare to find this level of compassion and concern in today's society. Maybe it is more prevalent it the vet community, but you'll certainly find it at Calhan Vet Clinic. Needless to say, we found out vets. Thank you!

Even though the diagnosis for our great Dane wasn't good, the vet was amazing. She thoroughly explained things, told us all the different options, and even offered to personally contact aces that may be taking clinical trials applications.

My little dog injured her mouth and had bled quite a bit. Her mouth was very swollen and getting worse. I wasn't sure how serious it was. I couldn't get her into my own vet or any other vets for a same day appointment. One vet did make a 1:30 appointment then called an hour before to reschedule. The ER vets here in the Springs are still curbside only. They don't take appointments and when I called they said the wait could be a few hours.. My daughter recommended Calhan Vet clinic after recently taking one of her dogs there.I had called them earlier but was only able to leave a message. The doctor himself was the one who returned the call. Then I already had the 1:30 appointment so I didn't schedule with them. I called them back after the the 1:30 appointment fell through. Calhan vet had me come in right away and took Grace back right after we got there. All of the staff was great.... Kind and compassionate to my poor scared little injured girl. Doctor DeAngelo wanted me to call later that evening and leave a message with an update on Grace. I called after 8 o'clock and the doctor himself answered the phone.I would definitely recommend this office and will be back. I just wish they were a little closer to me, but it was definitely worth the drive.

I have taken several of my pets there. They always treat us (pets too) with respect and are always straight forward with a diagnosis. They stay neutral when dicision time comes and they give you prices up front. No surprises! Love them!

Doc is a good man and vet. I trust him with not only my animals’ lives, but even my own. Extremely short wait times, the friendliest staff, and newly renovated clinic.I use this clinic for my dogs, cats, poultry, cattle, horses, goats, and pigs. The clinic offers mobile visits. Dr. D'Angelo treats you and your pet or livestock like family from the beginning and has a lifetime of knowledge as well as compassion. I am a curious person and I love to learn and Doc seems to love explaining everything to me too! Wonderful bedside manners.It is expensive, I won’t lie. But not much more than other nearby clinics and when you go to those nearby clinics, you will see why the minute increase in price is WORTH IT. No other vet office is as organized and put together as this one. Also there’s a new vet. As today, July 17 2023, there is a second vet! I met her briefly and she’s pleasant.

My dog was badly injure while she was boarded there. There was no apology for what happened, he just said that nothing like this has ever happened before. Quoted me one price to stitch her up and then called back and said it was going to be 3 times the amount originally quoted. Used dissolvable stitches that didn’t hold and had to take her somewhere else to get it done right.Editing in response to Dr.The wound was not small it went most of the way across the abdomen. He did give me a 5% military discount which was not much. I took her somewhere else after the wound opened back up because I couldn’t afford another 1200.00. They charged me a fraction of the cost.

I took my baby girl Stella to their office 2 weeks ago…..NOBODY in the area could get her in for a month….. they got us in the same day. They were kind and so caring. This office is definitely my new “office”❤️❤️ Thank you so much for being such a kind and compassionate office for our fur babies that ARE family.

Although everyone was kind and patient with my shy Labrador, I essentially wasted $730 on diagnostic testing to get no answers and bad advice on Sept 21st. We ended up taking my lab to an emergency vet the next day, Sept 22nd. They didn't even see any of the bloodwork or x-rays that were taken with Calhan Vet and were able to pinpoint the issue within a 15-minute exam. They used ultrasound to confirm.Unfortunately, my dog is terminally ill with severe liver disease. She is now on medication to support her liver, and although i dont have a lot of time with her, i have more time than if I had taken Dr Deangelo's advice.All in all. They are unjustly overpriced. I should have gone to the emergency vet in the first place.

Fantastic group! Instead of being so commercialized, as most vet clinics are these days, this a still a ‘country team.’ They love our animals as we do and are so kind to us. No guilt trip for a long list of additive services I feel guilty for turning down… instead a focused diagnosis and realistic ways to help my boy. Plus, the doc called me himself! Love this place

We had Dr. Carver out to our ranch recently to fix two male alpacas. She did a great job, very professional. Both alpacas are recovering without incident. I would highly recommend Dr. Carver.

We had a fantastic experience at the Calhan vet yesterday. We live in Peyton, but nobody could get us in for 2 weeks. Luckily Calhan vet was able to see us the next day. They treated Maddie like their own dog. And they just called to check on her this morning. Great service and follow up. Needless to say, I'll be taking all 4 our animals there from now on. It's worth the drive.

I had my pup seen here and the doc said that she needed a $1500.00 surgery after barley looking at her. I have since taken her to The Animal Hospital in Falcon and had the surgery done for $365.00. The underlying cause was an ear infection Calhan vet never even diagnosed. Poor care and overpriced.

I brought my elderly dog who is 16 years old in for an exam thinking the doctor would write me a prescription for her incontinence. She was given a prescription about 4 years ago for it so I did not think it would be a problem. Well I was wrong since he wanted to do a full urine work and full blood work just so we can rule out any 'possibilities' which is basically him telling me that I need to give him a few hundred dollars before he will give my dog a prescription she has already used, and needs. I feel like I am due a refund for his 5 minutes of time and his money grab. I am really discouraged with him and will not take any of my dogs back there, luckily this was only a mistake that cost 63 dollars, hopefully it means you will save your time and money. My sixteen-year-old dog instead can't sleep in my bed all because he wants to make more money.The person working the front and the vet techs were very kind and considerate and very welcoming it is a shame the doctor is not on their level.

The staff is amazing! They are all very warm, caring, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They took the extra time and sensitivity that my extremely fearful dog needed to get him the care he was due. They also helped us euthanize one of our dogs a short while ago and although it was out first visit there, they made us feel very comfortable and comforted. I would highly recommend these excellent people who clearly have a love for animals 💜

My golden retriever passed away this morning and I went there for help with the remains and because I couldn’t pay until pickup I was told “there’s always the landfill”, the vet told me to throw my dead dog in the garbage!!!!

Very knowledgeable about goats! I've had to take three bottle goats to the doctor over the last two years and he's been able to squeeze them in last minute and save two of them (the third had a necropsy done and the doctor and his staff were super helpful in that entire process we were super appreciative) He follows up on how the animals are doing and takes time after hours during our numerous goat emergencies to call us back and give us additional information/advice! The staff is always super nice and supportive as well! We will continue to go to Calhan vet clinic for all of our large and small animal's!

I was very upset with knowing I was very much overcharged at this veterinarian. I am now receiving the same services for my pup for a much more affordable price. I was being charged $400.00 a week for a bandage change at calhan. And now I pay $35.00 for his bandage changes weekly. Their was no reason to put my dog under anesthesia so many times. He does just fine with his bandage change no sedation needed.

Not transparent about charging us after hour fees and traveling fees. We live maybe 8 miles away, but he charged us an extra fee for being over 10 miles away.. Lack of care or understanding of alpacas. Vet techs were nice, but vet was rude and unprofessional. Not impressed. Others in our community warned us. Don’t recommend.Edit: this is the wife on husbands account, this is typical for married couples. To be specific; 8.25 miles from home to Calhan Vet according to gps. There was also footage on a home security camera that I showed my husband. He agreed with me. Fighting teeth are checked annually at shearing and removed/filed as needed. The wound you were addressing was from fencing and not fighting teeth. The vet owner’s response is not truthful. Almost $400 for antibiotics and 20 minutes of being there..

We started seeing Calhan Vet after our Big city vet wanted to charge us nearly $1200 to neuter our German Shepherd. I called Calhan on a weekend and the vet answered. This is when I learned he makes himself available for emergencies. Obviously things happen and he can’t be available 24/7/365.Back to the The neuter … this was completed and his office did a wonderful job following up on our dogs status and his condition! I will be taking all three of my dogs to the vet from now on, even if I have to drive a little bit!Thank you Calhan vet!!

Dr. DeAngelo & his staff consistently provide exceptional care for our small and large animals. They are fair in pricing and make great efforts to explain what is going on and even have had videos on canine dental care that is great for understanding what is going on with a dogs teeth. We always receive follow up calls checking on the condition of the patient. We highly recommend Dr. D & his staff!

Everybody is so nice and they were great to all my pets. They would do extra stuff like coming in on off hours to play with my dogs when I boarded them. They even picked up the dog bones I had forgotten. My dogs were never of the vet the whole time I brought them there, all my pets were completely at ease.Thank you calhan vet clinic for the wonderful care!

Absolute best vet and staff ever. They were compassionate kind and understanding. My dog was in some bad pain and we were not sure what was going on. They got us in the same day so he did not have to suffer through the weekend. They were so competent and got to the problem quickly. I was comforted that the best people would help my dog. He is our family member and therapy dog. I will take all my pets to Dr. De'Angelo and staff. Thank you guys SO much. You are all angels that care.

I've used them for my horse and my cats and they have been excellent. Very professional, kind, and not expensive at all. The ONLY thing I could say, is that I think when they sedated my horse they may have used slightly more then needed(it took her awhile to have a bowel movement). Again, I dont feel like that was anyway shape or form an issue on their part has I had just gotten her and she was extremely skinny and malnourished. However prices were excellent and they never pushed me to run unnecessary procedures

Everyone at the clinic was so kind and helpful during what was a very stressful situation -- every time I spoke with Kathy she was pleasant and ready to help with the next step. I really appreciated the calls from Dr. DeAngelo explaining the process and procedure, and coordinating the surgery with Dr. Goddard, and then checking up after. You are all very considerate, good people; it's clear that your mission is the health of your clients and supporting their humans.
