Nice spot that we stopped at for lunch in Buena Vista. A little pricey but the food and service were good. We split the burger and chicken sandwich. Both were good but the chicken was a little dry. The carrot coconut soup was good but tasted more like a summer squash soup than coconuts or carrots. Regardless I would recommend it, especially the burger and will stop in again next time I’m down in that beautiful part of Colorado.

We did not eat, as none of us were hungry, which makes me sad, because the pastries and baked goods they had on display. It looked delicious. we did get drinks and took a break from looking around Buena Vista, the staff was so friendly and helpful and the drink prices were the most reasonable. We have found within 50 miles. You should definitely check this place out.

Such a great place to eat. Service and environment great. They serve freshly baked bread. We had soup, chicken sandwich, and rainbow trout. They all tasted amazing. Had great time!

The food here is very good. Wholesome, nutritious, and true to its name. The interior has high ceilings and shares the space with another shop. You order at the counter and wait for your food to be brought out to your table. If you’re in the mood for a fast casual place with good burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads - come here.

Loved the simple and complete menu. The combo is such a great deal! I ordered the pesto pasta and it was delicious, the salad was great too. They have daily specials and a wide selections of beer and wines. The frozen yogurt has a toppings bar where you can serve yourself as much as you want. I was happy to see so many vegetarian and vegan options. Great place! Loved it!

I had the rainbow trout which came with crispy skin on. Perfectly cooked and reminded my of Seattle. Also the buffalo ravioli and soup are also recommended. You order at the counter and the menu is short and that is good because the locals eat here too and they are behind you in line. Waiters bring everything to your table.The building also sells outdoor clothes.

Really yummy food, I was a big fan of the carrot coconut soup. Nice to have healthy options when visiting out of town.Vegetarian options: A couple vegetarian and vegan options that are tasty.

I think this place is overrated. The Conocut Carrot soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, Steak Stroganoff, Chicken Club Sandwich, and Broccoli Cheddar Penne, were all ok good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Hubby said the Elk Burger was a dissapointment. Chocolate Croissant and Coconut Carrot Cake were also alright.

We ordered the pretzel board, a cup of tomato bisque, and a small Greek salad. This was more than enough for two for lunch. We had a half a pretzel loaf leftover, which we bagged up for later. The desserts were so desirable but we were too full to try them. Everything was delicious 😋. This place is very busy at lunchtime. Plan accordingly.

I liked this place way more before I went to the restroom. It shares space with a clothing store, and there’s a fair amount of people traffic back and forth. They store their breads on the shelves in the corridor on the way to the restrooms, and a half of these loaves aren’t covered with anything whatsoever. Some of them were also hanging precariously, so I got an impression that they don’t are much about the sanitary requirements. Maybe some people it’s fine, but I found it really gross because anyone can literally sneeze on these breads or give them a squeeze just for fun. Eek.Apart from that, it’s a cozy little place that shares space with a clothing , so it’s not very secluded.My husband liked his burger a lot, and my cookie was also not bad. Staff is nice but once they brought you food, they don’t check on you again, so you have to go for a coffee refill yourself if you want any.I was really glad that I decided against buying breads after all.

Ambiance 5/5Food 5/5We were on our way to Colorado Springs but stopped over night in Buena vista. We thought of having dinner in a comfortable place. Google recommended this place and bouy it was amazing.My order is as shown in pictures: chicken sandwich with pretzel bun and cheddar broccoli 🥦 on the side. Vegetarian cheddar penne with side of pretzel 🥨 bun.Ambiance is the first thing that pops out in this place. It is well structured. It’s a shop slash food spot but when we were here in the night 8PM, it was restaurant only. We took a long time to decide our order but people at the reception were so patiently waiting and suggestive. Everyone in this place greeted us with a smile. No complaints for customer service. They followed all the covid guidelines. Restrooms are clean.Sandwich and soup was super good. After hiking for miles, this was well deserved dinner for us. I would highly recommend the sandwich. Penne was amazing as well. Do not get cheddar broccoli with penne as both will taste the same. Penne by itself is amazing and doesn’t need anything on the side. Owner came and asked how the food was and allowed me to take pictures of the place.

My husband thought his steak sandwiches we're so-so, my son's bison ravioli was excellent, my salad was good. Roasted cauliflower should have been cut in smaller pieces so there would be more charred yummy pieces but sauce was excellent. Added green beans was a nice surprise.

A BV staple. You can get just about anything here and it will satisfy. I absolutely love the chocolate babka (which is rare to find) or the pecan pastry or the chocolate chip pumpkin bread. Day old half price loaves are a great deal. Good for lunch and dinner or just dessert. You can order bakery items for pickup at a later date if you need to guarantee that your specific bread is available. Supporting Simple Eatery supports our local community as many people I know work there or have worked there (I.e choose this over Subway…which you can get anywhere)

The quality of the food here is exceptional. Every meal I tried, I wanted to order it again the next time. My favorite meal here was the elk burger, but the halibut was to die for as well. And I almost forgot to mention the hot apple cider is as good as it gets here. This place is a must try if you're visiting Buena Vista.

Had the elk burger with chips and salsa. Pretzel bread w/ beer cheese and honey mustard. The fresh baked bread on the burger and for the app was amazing. The elk burger had a great taste, and the salsa was also very flavorful. Great staff, friendly and helped me choose the right options for my meal.

I have the happiest of tummies right now. ☺️ The cheddar penne is the perfect ‘not the same old stuff’, the crust is not brittle while the bread is softly baked all the way through. And chocolate croissants are are always a great sweet. And the service is kind and thorough. I would drive from northern Colorado to eat here.
