Very cool, retro vibes. The menu is just perfect. The hamburger buns are just the most beautiful thing I've seen especially for fast food. The food was super yummy and we all enjoyed our food. We will absolutely, 100 percent, be back!

Very good. Not super well air conditioned but very cozy. I didn't see the sign that said burgers are cooked med. To med. Well so that was sad, there was a LOT of pink in my mom's burger. Very good serving sizes and good drinks. A little over priced for the amount we got though. Very good easy to read menus. And they put fun names for your order.

I'm sad to say K's served a couuple tepid, tiny, dried out burgers that didn't melt the cheese on stale buns today. My 82 year old parents had been hyped for a an experience from the good ole days despite the price tag of $12.95 each. K's was a fave and mando stop when in the area for nearly a decade. I've had to take down my previous 5 star review to send this warning and I sincerely hope the owners take note. I have never seen this place without a line before...

If you're in Buena Vista (or within an hour of there), take the time to stop and get a burger. In n Out and other fancy cult followings have nothing on this! And their fries are top tier. The ice cream is great. It's a little pricier than some stops but it's worth it. The staff is fast and gracious. It's located off the main drag and parking is limited. There is a park and some additional parking behind the joint. There's a reason they've been in business over 65 years!

K's is a MUST when near Buena Vista! The food is delicious and those milkshakes 🤤 the popularity of this burger and shake joint is noticeable. The line is usually long during peak hours but it moves quickly. We like to enjoy our food at the nearby park.

Well, not the Kay's of old. This iconic burger/ ice cream shop has declined in recent years. Prices are high (resort area) customer service was diminished. We felt like we were imposing on the lady at the counter. I've been coming to Kay's since my high school days and was sad that this must see spot had become just an average burger hut. Give it a try but be prepared for a less than exciting experience.

Good burgers, bad service. We’ve been to K’s several times when passing through BV and their burgers, fries, and malts have always been good. During our last visit, one staff member fully transformed our experience for the worse in the last two minutes with an unnecessary comment and hostile attitude. We waited in the typically long line, no big deal, we knew the food was good. When we placed our order, we asked the guy at the register for extra ketchup and he responded that they would take care of us at pick up for those items. When picking up the order, we asked the girl for the extra ketchup and she grabbed two extra packets and literally slammed them on the counter yelling, “just so you know, these are 75 cents each!” It may sound lame in writing but in the moment it alarmed us and everyone around us, being met with raised eye brows and awkward looks from the 10 ppl nearby. Her disposition was really aggressive and abrasive and very unwelcoming to make us feel like we were in the wrong. It’s really too bad bc it changed our entire experience in just a few moments. Could have been 5 stars without her rudeness, but it left a bad taste in our mouths, figuratively speaking.

This place was great. We showed up and there was a small line. The line moved quick and we were able to order almost immediately. The #3 double burger is excellent and the fries were average. Ots fun that they give you a random celeb name to pickup the food. As an added bonus there is a park right behind the place and so you can go eat and sit down there.

Very good walk up ice cream and hamburger joint. All your favorites are found here and this seems to be a favorite stop for families who visit the are year after year. Very busy but the line moves quick enough, it makes you slow down, talk to people around you, and take in the sites of the mountains in the background and the town itself. There is a park with playground equipment and public restrooms across the street. There are also numerous picnic tables and benches throughout the park.

Saw this on the way out of thg he mountains. They had very good burgers and chicken. I also liked the informal setup but good quality food much better than fast. Shakes were also good and servers was fast and friendly. Would stop here next time I come through Buena vista.

This is a "must-stop" kind of place. Old school burger joint. Great burgers and fries. And of course, ice cream and milkshakes. I've been coming here for more than 15 years.Any time you're in the Collegiate Peaks region of Colorado, this should be on your list of places to eat.There's even a park and a stream with plenty of picnic tables right behind the restaurant. And a playground if you have little ones that need to run around.One note: they're closed on Tuesdays.

A 'destination class' roadside burger icon of simple pleasures and friendly service. It's worth the 10 minute detour off Hwy 285.Proven by the ever-present queue, (out to the road) of 20+ people standing in line for the "walkup orders only" window despite no drive thru, & limited parking. But it's located next to a spacious city park.Every item is memorable, from tasty smash-style burgers, crispy battered Chicken & perfect, always hot fries, & onion rings.Authentic homemade ice cream & shakes complete this throwback to the homey, quality roadside ideal.🍒 But the unexpected cherry topping here is K's genuine, entertaining service!They cleverly entertain & distract from the inevitable 30 minutes standing in the heat of day, next to noisy traffic, with miles of driving ahead of you.And in contrast, to the increasingly common food server blight, these folks are somehow genuinely freindly despite the continuous crowds of customers. What a delightful find!

Hamburger was fantastic! Definitely recommend. Fries are pretty good as well. The only negative that I would say is that we ordered a diet coke( diabetic, so not just a preference) and the waitress charged us $4.95 for a medium drink KNOWING that there was no diet Coke. Like there was an out of order sign that was fairly old taped to the dispenser. She handed us our cup and we had to walk inside and get our own drink. They had no other sugar-free options because the unsweetened tea was also out. I understand things happen, and sometimes things are out of order, but charging us for a diet Coke that we ordered specifically and not saying we are out of that, is just kind of shady.

Sadly, they no longer serve "old fashioned" hamburgers. Been a couple years since I've been here but was looking forward to real burger and happy to pay $20/ combo meal to support this place. Burger was a single mcD patty. 1/4 lb? Not like it used be.Onion rings were perfect and service was friendly. Stick to the ice cream.

The First few times it was grate are food came out fast and correct. However the last 3 to 4 times my food was not correct at all I ordered two half pound burgers and they came out as quarter pounds even after stating that I wanted half pounds. I am very disappointed in this expeshaly since the same cook has been working.

We absolutely love this place. They make an excellent milk shake. The soft serve and hot fudge were exceptional. And I had a mushroom Swiss burger that was extremely well done and had plenty of mushrooms on it. I could taste Swiss and mushrooms with every bite! Love it!

Ordered a cheeseburger sign says it is cooked medium to medium well when I got the burger it was medium rare I asked for it to be cooked they said it was medium well. Beef has bacteria on its surface and when you grill a steak the Bacteria is cooked off on hamburger the surface is ground through out the patty. By not cooking it to at least medium well you risk the chance of getting ecoli. That is why ecoli outbreaks are usually from under cooked hamburger.The Mgr refused to cook it or replace the burger stating that’s how they cook them.I they are very rude also.

I tried it twice. Fist time I got a cheeseburger and onion rings. The burger was very dry and bland, the onion rings were great. Went back a few days later craving onion rings. Got a very small order for $7 and a soft serve cone. The soft serve is NOT frozen custard, it's the grainy "ice milk" found at cheap buffets and gas stations. Not good. And the onion rings were tough and chewy, either the oil was very dirty or they put too much in it at once.I don't know how this place gets so much business. A fast food burger is 100x better than Ks.

Our experience was terrible. First,all 3 staff members we interacted with were incredibly rude. We ran to the bathroom after ordering and I came back to screaming over the intercom that my Sunday was melting all over her counter. We ordered two burgers, a side of fries and a Sunday. The amount of French fries we got for $5 was pathetic. When I inquired if they gave me the “combo” fries instead of a side of fries she responded “hey we don’t make the prices” and dismissed me. The horrible service paired with overpriced, mediocre food made me feel compelled to write a review.

Great place for burgers! They have a celebrity theme so you get a celebrity name for your order with info about that celebrity. The burgers are fresh and tasty, probably the best food in town!

Burgers and onion rings are decent, but absolutely not worth $17. My bill was $25 with a small malt for what was essentially a slight step up from McDonald’s.To boot, the business doesn’t seem customer friendly - they closed early and didn’t bother updating Google maps, so tons of people showed up and were disappointed.You’re better off going to Buena Viking and one of the ice cream shops.
