Took in a 30 lb propane tank with approximately 2 gallons in it. Just wanted to top off. Almost did not bring as plenty. Went to pay and was charged for a completely empty tank.Never again

Ace Hardware formerly True Value of Buena Vista, Colorado. If you’re Black, Latino, or Native American don’t bother spending your money here. They’ve got some serious racial profiling going and are rude and disrespectful. They make you feel very uncomfortable. It’s unbelievable that in this day and age there are businesses that employ people of this nature, It’s disappointing and disgusting.

I've been painting my office and have had to come in several times to get white paint. I accidentally grabbed two cans of paint that were the wrong base. I came in and switched them out for the correct ones. I go back in today to get my last cab and the same lady who helped me previously asked me if I had the right one and said, "Are you sure you got the right one, because I got in trouble last time for you getting the wrong ones."I've worked in customer service most of my life including now managing many businesses. One thing you never do is blame the customer and make them feel bad for making a mistake regardless if you got in trouble. I said back, "well mistakes happen."The lady has short brown hair and is probably in her 50's. The initials on my receipt is JTM. I highly recommend letting her know that it's not good customer service to point out she got in trouble for a simple mistake. I had my receipt to exchange the paint, and had literally just bought it a few hours before exchanging it. I had only opened one and realized the color wasn't the same.I will continue to shop here, but will avoid her checks from now on.

Called ahead to ask if an item was in stock (1-1/2” abs coupling) and the person assured me as he just stocked them. Drove 35 miles to get there and find out he stocked 2” items. I understand quality employees are hard to find, but at least take 30 seconds to go put hands on the item so customers don’t have to waste time and fuel.

Camping nearby and needed a few items. The cashier was professional and knowledgeable and helped us find the last thing we were looking for. We also topped off our propane tank. Great customer service! (I read a few of the negative reviews of this place regarding the lax mask mandates a few months ago...that would’ve actually brought us into the store to give them our business as our family never subscribed to the mask propaganda). Kudos to common-sense customers, employees and manager at your store!

Awful, rude service. Called in advance to see if carried certain item before making the 40 minute drive. Was told yes. Get there, they didn’t have it. Manager and staff were ignorant on their items in store, and found it easier to blame me for miscommunication than to own their mistake.True value in poncha springs is far superior in knowledge and helpful staff.

Just bought a house in BV and needed lots of stuff. Could have gotten it all from Amazon, but thought I'd support a local business. Even though it's a chain, the employees are local and maybe the franchisee. Checking out with a manager, I asked what the return policy was. I was rewarded with the snide reply of "Well, we don't rent 'em". Pretty poor attitude towards a fair question. They only accept returns if the product is defective. I gave them 2 stars because on a previous visit the staff was helpful. I won't be going back unless it's an emergency.

They are amazing. Staff and owners are very helpful and just nice people in general. They have a great selection of various parts, tools, hardware, etc. I'm moving out of state in two weeks, so I won't be able to take much more business there, but I wish I had known how much better this store is than the Leadville store's selection because I would have been driving there years ago. Definitely worth the drive to BV if you need to go to a hardware store! (And they let me being in my dog, leash required, which was a huge bonus)

It would be a great store to visit if you could feel safe in it. Although they clearly have mask mandate signs on the front doors even the manager Mitch seems to disregard wearing a mask in the store. And plenty of people visit the store without masks on and there is not even a hint of a suggestion of wearing a mask from the staff. If it weren't for that... it'd be a great place to shop.

Didn't have what I was looking for and employees were just sitting down off to the side talking. While they were nice, I was still slightly disappointed. Recommend calling in to ask about item inquiries before visiting.

Really helpful staff. Always clean. I do feel like the prices on a lot of stuff is a little higher than competitor's. With that being said we are up in the mountains so I'm sure that plays a part in their price from going to a home depot in denver. Good little hardware store. Also have fishing gear and they refill propane. Even though an exchange is cheaper. Not sure why?

I love this store, there is free coffee, mostly great customer service, and pretty much everything we need in a small town. My unfortunate experience has been however the last two times I have visited there where dogs running amuck. Today there was a dog fight 3 feet from my children. True Value please enforce the town's leash laws, and put a sign up. Thanks.

Women standing around the back complaining. Doing nothing. I walked around for 20 minutes looking for one someone to help me and couldn't find anybody. They were not busy. I left empty handed.

We always check True Value before going anywhere else. Wide variety or items, great friendly staff, reasonable prices. Recently a family member purchased paint, and when we started to use it, they didn't like the color, went back to TV and Mark was able to mix colors and get the paint toned down and almost exactly the color the family member was looking for, saved us a lot of money as we were afraid we would not be able to get it fixed and would have to pay for more paint, but with all his years he knew exactly what to do. Thank you

Quite a True Value! The building is huge, and of course, there is a ton of stuff to buy. Fishing supplies, hardware, a Keurig... You name it. But, the downside I saw is that the service is not personable. I walked in with no greeting from anyone, and in the entirety of my being there no one ever asked if I needed anything. Knowledgeable? Maybe, I don't know. Helpful? It doesn't seem so, not in comparison with the other True Values I've been in. But, the store is fun to browse and will most likely have what you need, and the staff doesn't create a problem with that. 👍

The customer service here is horrible. The manager yells at you and won't let you know when her boss is supposed to be there she says "I guess you can just wait for whenever he gets here". This is the worst ace I have ever been to the item I bought was damaged and wouldn't work and they wouldn't even exchange it for a new one. This is absolutely the worst store I have ever been to also the cashiers where making rude remarks while i exited the store. I am taking legal action against this place for discriminating a customer. Save yourself the pain go down the street.

I bought a house in BV in March and have lots of projects to get it fixed up. BV TR is a great place with decent supply and prices, especially for a small mountain town. The staff is amazing...friendly and knowledgeable.My only concern is the sign on the front door that states masks are required. I walk in and hardly anyone is wearing a mask. This was before Governor Polis released the mask mandate and masks were required for everyone. I understand that many don't believe nor want to wear them but as a Registered Nurse, I am very aware of the dangers of this virus . I just wish that if no one is going to wear a mask, a sign should be posted that masks aren't required. I always double mask when I go there.

I have always enjoyed and appreciated this store until this latest experience. I spent a lot of money on a major purchase that has not been functional since leaving the store. The manager Mark was rude and would not even listen to the concerns I had. nor help to address the issue. There was absolutely no concern that I was out a lot of money. I am truly disappointed

No greeting when I came in, no one seemed interested in helping me. When I did stop an older guy in shorts, he answered my questions with as short an answer as he could and made it clear I was bothering him by asking questions. POOR customer service all around, not a friendly place at all.

Not a customer oriented store for several reasons. Does not honor Veteran discounts - Salida store does. Will not even talk to you about a return without original receipt AND packaging. Told me to shop elsewhere if I didn't like their return policy. Extremely rude. Will drive 25 miles to shop in Salida Tru Value. Our Son is building a house in Nathrop. New neighbor a general contractor. Word of mouth means alot in this small community. It's all in how you treat your customers. Not whether you refund/exchange but how you deal with that inquiry.

Had an issue with my 5th wheel hitch. Being away from home, Allen came out to my truck, we figured a way to fix the solution from different tools, and helped the whole way. A special kind of service right there. Thanks Allen. Will be back.

Didn't have the particular RV Hot Water Heater Relief Valve but did have several standard sizes. Referred me to Hi Valley Plumbing down the street who had exactly what I needed. Prices always high, they never change their price on propane according to market value.

Went in looking for windshield repair kit with my family. Asked Allen if they had one. He shook his head no, but as I made my way to the car care aisle. There they were. Allen had a problem with us the minute we walked in. He is very rude, or maybe he has a problem with tourists.....

They should change their name to NO VALUE because that's what they seem to have for their local working class customers.

Employee wasn't wearing a mask. I asked him to put a mask on. He said he had an immune system and didn't care about others. It's been 12 months of pandemic...... please don't infect someone now as the vaccine is nearly out.
