Great staff who are willing to work with sensitive dogs. I have taken all three of our rescues there over the years. They make check-in a breeze, as well as offer treats, baths, and walks. The only place I trust with my four legged friends!

We put our 2 or 3 year old rescue through the 4 week board and train program and it was great! I called to check in on our boy and had all of my questions answered by our primary trainer, Patrick. When we picked up our dog we received an hour training which was extremely helpful, but the included private training the following week was really impactful as we had encountered situations and questions throughout the week that we were able to address with Patrick. We also started implementing the training with our other dog and everyone in our household is enjoying the dogs much more because of it.Everyone we encountered at CO Dog Academy was super friendly and seemed to really care about the dogs. We got our dog groomed before bringing him home and he has never been so clean and soft. Such a nice add on.I am looking forward to attending the group classes moving forward. We will be using CO Dog Academy for boarding while we are away as well.Thank you again CO Dog Academy!

I love the academy. I purchase my dog treats there. get my dogs nails trimmed. And best of all they are the best at training your dog. They have helped me with all kinds of bad behaviors.

Affordable boarding. My dog loves coming here. They provide food for him during boarding, my dog has a very sensitive stomach and they have a nutritionist on staff. They provided me the food they feed my dog while he is boarded and it has improved his sensitive stomach problems. Best groom for my bernedoodle I have had so far. Competitive pricing for grooming.

We came to CDA with a 120 lb Bernese that was super reactive with dogs and people. It was so bad we could hardly take him on walks around the neighborhood, let alone anywhere more public. We tried the Petco training with little to no results. After a four week board and train course, he came back a completely different dog. We are now able to take him places we would have never thought of before. The continued group classes are a major perk to solidify the lessons he learned during boarding. This place was an absolute miracle for us.

I love CDA! I enrolled our newly adopted mixed one year old in their forever training. I had many private classes with Chris, he was wonderful! My dog Coco has now graduated to group class. After getting Coco from the Riverdale animal shelter, not knowing any of his background, he had a hard time with rules in the house. We are very happy with the results!

Colorado Dog Academy owner training sessions have done wonders for Moose our Lab/German Shepard mix. Excellent staff that have worked patiently with us on individual level and now Moose has graduated to group training. The first photo is Moose with another dog. 2 weeks earlier he and the other dog did not get along. Now they both sit mindful of their behavior. The second dog in on the group training pics is Moose working hard on long leader stays with other dogs. Excellent controlled environment and definitely recommend their program.

Nick trained our GSD Zeus at 17 weeks when he came back at 21 weeks he was definitely a different pup. Even at such a young age he is so well behaved. He is currently 6 months old & has such a great temper with humans and dogs! Highly recommend Colorado Dog Academy, from the beginning we were treated like family! Nick is the go to man! Alyssa was super sweet! Thank you so much everyone! Will be going to group classes as well. ☺️

Straight outta boot camp! Well doggy bootcamp. Thank you so much Colorado Dog Academy! He is such a different dog!! And he is so glad to be back with his ride or die! Welcome home Ghost. Rosie and the rest of us missed you. And yes my dogs have their own chaise! But they aren't happy with the new rule of not being on the bed or couches and being kenneled when mom and dad aren't home!

I did not have a good experience at this place. I took my dogs here for 4 days, when I called to check on them, the lady I spoke to obviously lied to me. Her tone seemed annoyed that I was even calling to check on my dogs & I asked if the dogs had been eating and she proceeded to tell me they both were doing great and both eating. I knew that wasn’t the case. When I get there a different lady tells me my dog didn’t eat because she was sad which is to be expected, but don’t lie and say she was eating when she wasn’t. Also, we had to pick them up a little late because our flight delays & when we called to tell them we were running behind on time just by a little bit the lady was dismissive & told us they would not wait past closing time because they have been their since 6am & they would have to stay for two more days because they were closed the next two days. So instead of waiting a few extra minutes she was trying to force my dogs to be jailed there for 2 more days and me have to pay for those extra days. They have a sign up that says pickup outside of hours is a small fee but this lady said absolutely not. My dogs and all their stuff smell like a dirty dog area, like pee and dingy. (They told us they wash their stuff) Also, I’m also positive they gave my dog treats to other dogs or kept them for their own stash because my dogs don’t even eat a full treat yet they sent them back with all treats gone? This place is is not honest about the dogs stay & I don’t think I’ll go back nor recommend them to others. One lady with glasses there was really nice but the other staff and overall experience didn’t give me good vibes at all.Update : 9/5/23- my dogs ears have been bothering her since I picked her up and when I look inside her ear it looks like they tried to clean her ears and were too rough!!! She has scans all inside her ears and it’s bothering her! You guys have zero integrity &just want your money!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, we've used the Colorado Dog Academy for a few different boarding needed. Our first experience was great, but with each experiences the service has drastically decreased -- with this last experience being the final straw. We boarded our dog for a 24-hour stay and scheduled a grooming service before pick-up.When we picked up our dog, he had a cut over his eye, which he did not have upon arriving to the Colorado Dog Academy. I called and asked about the cut, and was met with a very dismissive response -- something like "they are dogs, it happens."He also came down with a very sever digestive virus, which resulted in a visit to the vet. Apparently, virus are pretty comment in boarding facility that have cleanliness issue. Our vet even said they also had not heard good things about Colorado Dog Academy .It is disappointing, but after starting off with such great experience and end in a very different place is disheartening.

I left my new puppy, Lefty, a black and white lab mix, with Colorado dog academy when I first got him as a puppy a couple years ago. As a new dog parent, I was nervous to leave him with anyone, especially for a month, but also knew he needed proper training to have the best life with me. He was trained by Patrick, who trained him at his house and the facility for the month. When lefty came back to me a month later, even though he was still very young, his behavior from when I first got him was like night and day. He was now fully crate trained and was a pleasure to walk on a leash. Fast forward almost 2 years later and he is the best boy, so sweet and loving, and very well behaved. I know patrick had something to do with that so I just wanted to say thank you to him. I’m sure lefty would still remember him. I know its tough trusting a stranger with a new dog, especially your first pet on your own, but they really did a great job here.

Kyle did a great job training both my Rottweilers at the boarding school. They are so well behaved, I get so many compliments on both my dogs... I was not able to walk one of them now I can take both of them for walks together with out tugging and pulling. Thank you Kyle.

Great experience with training for our Australian Shepherd. During our private training sessions Dan provided us with all the needed skills and confidence to properly train and correct unwanted behaviors. Our pup has graduated to group classes and she loves the interaction and training exercises in a group setting. I’ve continued to learn so much in our group classes. Recommend for any age dog and experienced or new dog owner.

Unfortunately, our experience was quite awful with Colorado Dog Academy. We initially sent our dog there for their 4 week training and boarding program but had to pick up our dog early. It was not until we requested a photo of our dog that we became concerned. The photo showed him with several bald patches and scabs on his chest so we called to ask about them. When I asked the employee what had happened (in a respectful tone) I was greeted with nothing but an angry and patronizing tone. The man was incredibly rude and dismissive and even tried to tell me that those patches on his skin were from the concrete. So the next morning my father called the owner, Kyle, who also spoke to him with a rude and patronizing tone, never truly acknowledging our concerns, just angry we had the audacity to question the well-being of our dog. The phone call resulted in him telling us that we can pick up our dog early, so that was exactly what we did. To respond to our questions with such anger and deflection made us concerned because if it was really something as simple as a food allergy or a rash why not communicate that in a professional and calm manner? Their behavior made them seem guilty. When we arrived to pick up our dog, Kyle behaved in the most unprofessional and almost unstable behavior I’ve ever seen from a business owner. He came out ready to fight when we were nothing but respectful to the staff as we waited on our dog to be brought out. He began yelling and at one point looked like he wanted to get physical. Other reviews have mentioned how rude and awful Kyle is but they really downplayed that man’s terrible character. He tried to lie and tell us the bald spots and scabs on my dog which covered his WHOLE BELLY, legs, genitals, and chest could have been from his harness which he did not even have while boarding, then he said they were from a food allergy. Then they had the audacity to lie again and said all the patches and scabs formed overnight - which is just not possible. We took our dog immediately to the vet after and confirmed he had a bacterial infection that the vet confirmed would take around 2/3 weeks to get to the state it had, on top of that he had STAFF INFECTION.All in all, I plead dog owners considering training or boarding their dogs here to RUN, RUN FAR. This is not the place you want to leave your dog. Even if they were not purposely mistreating my dog, they should have at the very least been concerned with the condition of his skin and alerted us, not try to gaslight, patronize, insult, and try to fight us. This place is a joke.

We took our black Labrador here for the 4-week boarding and training program and had an amazing experience! He is SO much better - especially with his leash manners. They were also very kind and patient when I called nearly 2-3x a week to check-in on him and always took the time to give me a detailed update. We were recommended here by a friend and would definitely recommend anyone in the Denver/CO area here!

I didn't have my dog participate in the board and train program here. I toured the facility, which appeared pretty standard. My reluctance came from speaking with Dan about the training and about how the program is run. As a responsible pet owner, its my job to make sure that I'm asking questions and engaging in the process of finding the right place for my dog. Every question I asked was met with hostility and defensiveness. Questions like, "Do dog aggressive dogs participate in the board and train program with non aggressive dogs?" were answered curtly. "Well is not like we can just isolate the dog aggressive dogs that stay here, so yes." When I asked about how they ensure the safety of the dogs he replied, "I've been doing this for over thirty years. It's pretty easy." Cool. I'm glad you have so much experience. I don't. That's why I'm asking questions and doing my homework. I wasn't comfortable and I have no regrets about seeking care for my dog elsewhere.

We love this place. We’ve been boarding our Pit mix here for a few years now & they are wonderful with him. Whenever we pull up to drop him off, he gets all hyper, jumping all over the car & lets out an excited cry…anxious to jump out as soon as we open the car doors. I kid you not. All the staff know him by name (which is amazing, considering they have a lot of dogs to keep up with). He eagerly rushes to go inside so he can be greeted with all the head/ear rubs. We would never take him anywhere else. Highly recommend!

I would give them zero stars if I could. We had our 2 dogs (Bear & Stella) there for the 4 week board & train. We dropped them off on a Friday afternoon, and was told to give them a few days to get adjusted, but then i could call for updates. I waited as long as i could, but i was worried about my babies and by Sunday afternoon i had to call. I was told "they haven't asked about you". I laughed assuming he was giving me a hard time, but would still provide an update. I got nothing...he said to give them a few days.We had contacted them several times during the first week to find out how our dogs were doing. We let them know we were concerned about Stella after seeing her picture posted (a week into training). She was sitting on her tail, which she has never done before. We were told that she was nervous and that was normal for danes. We were told they were doing fine. 10 days into training she had aspirated her own vomit and was found septic and unconscious. They took her to the emergency vet, but she couldn't be saved. They never informed us she was sick, they didn't do anything until it was too late. She was only 8 months old. I believe if she would have gotten the care she needed...it wouldn't have gotten to that point. We immediately went to pick up Bear and my husband was handed a check and told we had a good looking lab. They also paid our vet bills , then went on to block us from communicating with them. They knew they were at fault. But, the money can't make up for the loss of a life. One that could have been prevented if it weren't for their neglect. We got Bear home and found he was also sick and is on medication. It wasn't until after this tragedy that I found other reviews with similar situations of dogs getting sick, owners not being notified. Please don't bring your babies there. Its not worth the risk.
