Whole Pets has a great selection and I'm especially grateful for their DIY dog bathing stations. Bathing a pup is a messy, wet business so it's nice to not have to do it in my own bathroom. They provide towels, a selection of shampoos and conditioners, brushes, aprons, and even treats to appease the unhappy soggy doggy! All for under $15.

I’ve been shopping here for almost 2 years and finally decided it was time to write a review. If you already know what you need, it’s a good place to shop. Their prices are straightforward (unlike ONP across the street who marks up their prices so they can offer a “sale”) and generally, they have a decent selection. However, the majority of their staff is less than knowledgeable, in comparison to other natural food stores in the county, and 2 the employees I see on a regular basis either hate their lives, or they downright just hate me. I always feel like I’m inconveniencing them when I have questions or have a return to make, and am rarely ever greeted or wished a nice day after checking out.The only reason why I’ve continued to shop here is because I work nearby, but it’s getting to the point where my visits aren’t even feeling neutral anymore. The staff really makes the store, and pairing that with the fact that I’ve made requests for certain brands and they have never been seriously considered, I just don’t see the point of coming here anymore. Sorry y’all.

Just such a great small business, especially if you shop for specialty or minimal ingredient foods/treats. They carry a ton of Vital Essentials products that I can't even find at other pet stores! Also love getting to see Bob (a sleepy resident cat for anyone who hasn't been in) and the other pets that sometimes hang out in the store.

I love the help this place provides. I wash my dog here regularly and it is super convenient to Whole Foods to get both activities done in one place. It is super easy and not expensive and they have a great brand of dog kibble that we use to supplement our dogs meals with.

Great selection of dog and cat supplies, including some items that are hard to find elsewhere. Prices are always competitive. The staff is great to work with, and always willing to take custom orders. I don't know why I would shop anywhere else.

This place definitely has a calming vibe to it. Great for animals to come shopping with you. Their self-bathing station is affordable and fully equipped with every kind of shampoo, conditioner, & an air blower for getting all the excess water off!

I have been unimpressed with the service in the past, I admit. Typically a few staff members are there (or staff members and their friends?) and they talk to each other rather than to the customers. But today a solitary clerk was very friendly and she confirmed that I had found what I wanted. Great! And the price for my Natural Balance cat food was 30 cents less per can than Only Natural Pet Store (even lower by the case), which is in the same shopping area.

Wide selection of high quality products for pets. You can get dog/pet CBD medicine as well as CBD dog treats (Edibites). Our dog recently sprained her leg and the treats legitimately seem to make her feel better. Staff sometimes has trouble finding products for you; small enough store to browse quickly.

Whole Pets keeps their customers, employees, and four-legged friends safe. They have signs on both doors that state dogs are required to be on leash before entering the store. I never thought about it until I was bit by a dog at another pet store in Boulder that allows dogs to be off leash. Other stores may have a bit more selection, but Whole Pets has everything I’d need and nothing I don’t (say, as a crazy example, dog bites!).

Not going back after interaction with owner today after 9 years of exclusively supporting this local biz.Went in with our lab Lovie on leash and shop cat hissed at him while he had paws up on counter as usual for a treat. No biggie to me as it’s as natural as...well, cats and dogs.The owner (who I’ve never seen before all this time) scolded me for upsetting the cat. I pushed back and reminding her I’m the customer and expect to be treated with respect.If you don’t want your cat riled up, maybe keep them out of a store full of dogs?? Apparently the cat was bitten before, which should be a clue.She then invited me to never come back and I definitely WON’T BE Earthborn food is cheaper online and I’ll give my $600++ per year biz to a more friendly/polite establishment.I’ve noticed the last few years the employees here do not ever last long and are about as enthusiastic as fast food workers, and despite my nearly decade long repeat patronage I rarely get a thank you or a smile. That ends today.

My experience today with the self serve bath was pretty awful but my experience with an employee named Daniel made it much, much worse. The bath area was dirtier than expected and the towel I was given smelled of dirty dog despite being clean (hopefully) but my dog needed a bath and I didn’t have any other options on a Sunday afternoon in Boulder. The tub was at a good height, had a non slip liner for my pup, several shampoos to choose from and the water pressure was good. The issue I had was the water kept turning cold, just as it warmed up enough it would go cold again. At one point an employee came to the back and I asked her if there was an issue with my tub’s water hoping to switch to another tub if so but she went up to the front to ask her coworker Daniel and never returned. I rushed to finish the bath and felt awful for my shivering pup, she’s usually loves (warm) baths but she was trying to climb out towards the end. The drier provided only blows cold air and the towel smelled bad so I used the small microfiber hand towel provided to sop up what I could and left with a wet, shivering cold dog.On way out is when the negative interaction with Daniel occurred. From what I gathered, he was in charge of the other employee who never returned after going up front to ask him for help. Instead she was up front sweeping the store while he was propped against the counter behind the register watching her. As I walked past the register on my way out I mentioned the water to him and he cut me off saying the bath was free. I explained that I’d already paid before I went in for the bath and he shrugged like it was too bad. I suggested a refund but he said he couldn’t give me a refund because I paid with a card so I half heartedly suggested a replacement bath, almost rhetorically. He said he’d put a $12 credit under my account but I’m not holding my breath, as I was leaving I thanked him twice and he ignored me twice. Not sure what to make if his attitude but it seems to be a trend here in Boulder, lots of flippant assholery and unhappy people despite the beauty and perfect weather. Anyway, I hope they fix the water, that Daniel finds a job he actually enjoys doing and that they replace him with someone who actually likes people.

So friendly! I have a new puppy and our trainer recommended grabbing some fancy dog food here to use as treats (Ziwi naturals). Not only is the staff super friendly, I walked away with a few small bags of samples we use as "high value reward" kibble. They also we're the only place I could find an XS harness -- Petco and PetSmart didn't have ones small enough for my baby keeshond. The staff helped me size her correctly, and gave her lots of pets in the process! Definitely would recommend this place to others.

Always love coming in here for Bob the Store Cat, but truly an awesome selection of higher end cat and dog food. Very knowledgeable staff as well as exceptional self wash dog bath.

The self bathing stations are a great idea but for $12 their soap SUCKS!! It's super watered down and you have to pump it for like 5 minutes to get enough soap out and you couldn't even tell she had a bath two days later!! Im really disappointed because I need a bathing station like this but I will not pay $12 to bring my own soap.

We love whole pets, they have a wide variety of bones, rawhides, collars, toys, raw food, wet and dry dog food.Their prices are slightly higher than petsmart but you get what your paying for. We'll continue to go here for anything we need

I went to the store and was able to find pretty much everything I was looking for. The store is wheelchair accessible except for an isle or 2 but they were still passable. It's only because it was a small store so that was why.

Whole Pets=Whole Headache with custom orders. If you want a Red Dingo tag go directly to their site. Skip the middle man. We ordered a tag from Whole Pets. They lost the order form. Then when Whole Pets sent it to Red Dingo it was missing important info like the tag we chose, color and size. They said the order would take a while. I never imagined it would be 4 months just to get a dog tag.

WAY CHEAPER than PetsMart. Regal Rat from oxbow is about 9 bucks at Whole Pets and 15 at PetsMart. Smaller store, better price. Service its quick and amicable.
