Our adoption process with Farfel’s was absolutely fantastic. After losing our pit bull Daisy, my house was too quiet and my heart was aching. I fell in love with a picture of Carl (fka Max) and filled out the Farfel’s adoption application. Hope got back to me very quickly and provided all of the information I needed. The application was very thorough and it’s clear they do their research on potential adopters, which I think is FANTASTIC. Farfel’s clearly cares a great deal about the health and happiness of their rescues. The communication from Farfel’s (Hope in particular) was very prompt and friendly, and we were able to pick up Carl shortly after he arrived in Colorado. We couldn’t be more in love with Carl, he’s already super happy and made himself right at home. Thanks, Farfel’s!

Just adopted a sweet Puggle from their rescue. It was a great experience ❤️❤️ with great communication with the staff.Update: After a few weeks we had to make the difficult decision to not continue with the adoption. The staff was kind and understanding with the desire for what's best for the dogs, and found her a new forever home. I am thankful for the experience and working with such good people.

Short:The owner (Jeff) called to tell us our family was selected to adopt or our wonderful dream dog. After agreeing and sending confirmation that we did want to adopt… They decided to back out gave him to another familyLongMy wife and I made the wonderful decision to want to grow our family this year. We have been looking for dogs for awhile. After much deliberation and research, we decided an Italian Greyhound would be an excellent fit for the many needs of our little family. We spent time searching for an Italian Greyhound we could rescue, even contacting breed-specific rescues. Even though we are ideal applicants, we were told that these rescues are not receiving the same influx of greyhounds they used to, and we would be waiting YEARS if we were even lucky enough to get one at all.Within 24 hours of this correspondence with this other rescue, they contacted us. They said they had information of an Italian greyhound coming to the state through a different rescue. We were so grateful for their help and felt this was a special, clandestine experience we were having to grow our family. We placed our applications in minutes, called to confirm our family’s application, and after a week of waiting I received a call that we were selected. This meant the whole world to our small family and felt like a calling from the universe.Instead, I received radio silence the next day… and was then followed by an email that they would be instead giving the dog to another family , even after we confirmed that we were selected. Why? Because another family (the foster) apparently was more deserving. What a heartbreaking decision by this company. After we have done everything right… the long hours of research, the arduous application, all the hard things to just simply want to grow our family taken away. How can an organization choose to get people’s hopes up and break their hearts by saying we “made it”… only to just take it away. It isn’t right or fair.

It's only been a few hours since we've been home with them... But I think it's safe to say these little girls have found their forever home. Thank you to everyone at Farfel's for matching us to these little sweethearts!

I adopted from Farfel's Farm & Rescue 2 weeks ago and was extremely satisfied with their communication and assistance. The application is extensive which I appreciate because it shows they really care about who is adopting their dogs and that they want to ensure they make a correct match. Once mine was accepted, an employee Hope reached out to let me know I was approved. She was extremely friendly, supportive and answered all my questions. Even after I picked up my dog she was super responsive to my random dog questions that probably weren't even her job to answer (I've never had a dog before so had lots of random questions!). They also cover the shots & spay through my adoption fee which is extremely helpful. I would 100% recommend adopting from Farfel's and commend Hope for being so helpful to me in this special time in my life!!! Thank you Farfel's & Hope!!!

I adopted my dog a little less than a month ago and I couldn’t be happier with the process. She is such a sweetheart and Farfels made the adoption process very easy. We even had to take her to the vet in the first week and they covered the cost to make sure she was healthy! The application is long but I appreciated that they try to match dogs with homes in which they will be well taken care of! The questions helped me form a plan for my pup as they go into good detail on so many aspects of a dogs life.If you are filling out the application I recommend being as thorough as possible.Thank you so much for our girl, she is happy and we are happy!

Farfel's Farm - Baited, mislead, scammed, duped, & wrote us off. Not a good experience. We lost our beloved terrier cross tragically earlier this summer, it was a hard loss for our family, we began to look for a new family member after mourning his departure. We found Farfel's Farm advertisement for a Karin Terrier and Miniature Schnauzer cross available for adoption. Our family was very excited and signed up enthusiastically. After extensive phone interviews and application forms and waivers, a 6 hour drive and $500.00 + we received our puppy, who immediately did not look the part. After genetic testing we found we had actually received a chihuahua / dachshund / miniature doberman pincer. While we had been interrogated, and extensively researched, Farfel's farm did not conduct the same due diligence on the puppy they were selling us. When we brought it up the general answer was "oh Well" it was "our best guess" and their only real concern was a bad review. Very nice in person but NOT trustworthy. I wouldn't be surprised if they got our puppy from a local shelter the day we picked him up. We do not recommend this service, and intend to file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau of Boulder.

My partner and I adopted from Farfel's about 6 weeks ago, and we couldn't be happier with our new fur-baby Bucky (formerly Button). I've seen some complaints that their adoption application is too long or put people off from applying. While I suppose it could seem long, everything they ask is something all potential dog owners should be asking themselves before they decide to adopt. It also makes it really clear that they care about the dogs and finding them their forever homes. The process once we were called was clear and straight forward, they even worked with us when our schedule didn't allow us to pick up our new family member right away. The adoption fee can seem pricey but it covers a lot so it's actually a bargain. They also sent us home with a lot of food, treats, poop bags, a harness, and a bully stick. We're so happy we went with Farfel's and that we have a great new addition to our family!

We adopted our sweet dog, Lola, from Farfel’s in August. She is everything that was described. We haven’t been surprised at all. Farfel’s application is extensive but necessary, and I was delighted to receive a call the next day. We picked her up and were sent off with lots of free supplies to get us started. They truly care about finding the right homes for their rescues.

Not responsive! I contacted them online and even filled out their incredibly long adoption application. Never heard anything back. Luckily, I adopted a great pup from All Aboard Adoptions. They were much easier to work with and we found the right pup! Not sure why Farfel would reveal any information that I submitted in my app (especially since that info should be treated as confidential with as much personal info as they require) as an excuse for not contacting me to discuss. Obviously, anyone looking for a dog knows they can't guarantee anything but there is no excuse for no communication at all.

I’ve been doing business with Sandy and Jeff since shortly after they opened. They are two of the nicest, most decent people you could ever meet. Lots of toy choices, treats, collars and leashes and fun novelty items! Plus, they are providing an immeasurably vital service with the rescue they operate. So many lives saved from high kill shelters! Stop into Farfel’s Farm - you won’t be disappointed!!

I love Farfel’s! They have a wonderful selection of quality food and treats! Lots of choices for toys, collars, leashes and such fun novelty items. Sandy and Jeff are such kind and decent people. They offer great advice when asked. The rescue they run helps so many homeless dogs and dogless people! It’s a great place to shop! See for yourself and go by for a visit.

These folks are responsible for hooking us up with our amazing Standard Poodle rescue. They are thorough in their process, interviewing applicants and making sure that dogs are healthy. They were very welcoming when we went to pick up our dog, and gave us many helpful supplies and tips.

Keeper and I go down to Farfel’s every week for a beef knee. He picks it out himself and takes it to the register. I pay, then he drops it in a bag and carries it home himself.

Picked up a very sweet 3 year old Lab/Husky pup that was abandoned in New Mexico. If you get to know the staff so they know your personality, lifestyle, and expectations then they are wonderful matchmakers. Our friend also adopted a dog there last month. It's scary planning to adopt a dog without meeting it, but the team and their colleagues throughout the country are great at picking a good fit. It was love at first sight in both of our cases.

Sandy & Jeff are incredible when it comes to their rescues! I submitted an application for a sweet Westie mix named Sky and the very next day I had received a phone call. I chatted with Jeff for a long while about our home and experience as past rescue adopters. He then let me know that I would need to send and email confirming adoption and house photos. This is standard practice of all rescue adoptions so I was not surprised by this. On the day of adoption they were very communicative and even texted me instead of calling since the dog was a surprise for my mom and I was with her. When we picked up Skye at the store they were delightful to work with. I would definitely work with Farfel's again if I am looking to adopt.

Farfels has a phenomenal network where they brings in amazing rescue dogs from all over and match them with the best homes. Their application is extensive, but they really ask the right questions to make sure they are finding fur-ever homes. We applied for one dog, but when we weren't chosen, we reached out to let them know we were interested in a new rescue. Be aware, they get flooded with applications, but just call/email, or even better, stop by the store if you are interested in a dog and they'll transfer your application to the next dog you are interested in.Once we asked about the 2nd dog we were interested in, everything moved lightning speed. They do a 1 week trial adoption, which is perfect to get to know the dog - good and bad. We adopted a 2 yr old aussie/retriever mix who was found as a stray in TX. Without Farfels, we would never have found this sweet, playful, adorable pup. Their adoption fee covers the cost of transport, neuter/spay, microchip, initial vaccines along with food, treats, chews. They also provide adopters with extensive info on vets, recommended trainers, food options, etc. Thanks to everyone at Farfels!

I am absolutely in love with the dog we rescued, but I was not a fan of Farfels. They are pretty much an expensive middle man. They picked up our dog from a transport from New Mexico late in the afternoon and we had to be in their store to receive him as soon as they arrived. The store is small and cramped, and there were a handful of other adoptions going on at the same time. Our dog had been in transport the whole day and we met him in a hectic store with no time or area to sit and get to know him a little. Not what I expected at all. It was not a smooth process at all.The dog we adopted was supposedly not neutered, but when we took him to our vet for our free adoption check up, they didn't feel any testicles. Farfels covered surgery at a few locations, but I wasn't willing to put my dog through surgery when he might not need it. My vet offered a blood test to check testosterone, but Farfels would not cover it. I was able to get an appointment for an ultrasound at Farfels covered vet choice, where we ended up having a terrible experience. The ultrasound found nothing, so I opted to pay for the blood test. No testosterone, so he has no testicles. It's been a rough road, and I'm thankful for my dog, but I wouldn't adopt from Farfels again.
