One of the beat state parks near boulder. Winter is beautiful and there are few amazing trails like Rattle snake gulch, flower trail, canyon continental divide. Highly recommended. The approach road may be little bumpy, exercise caution during winters. There are restrooms near the visitor centre and plenty of parking space. The picnic area is also amazing.

This place is an awesome place to come and hike or climb. Beware the entry thru the small town is brutal. Dirt road with a million pot holes, but once you enter the park, it's very beautiful here. There's a road all the way to the top that leads to the other side. There's parking spots throughout to stop and enjoy the scenery. Lots of people climbing the cliffs. There's a river and a small bridge not too far from the entrance. Dogs welcome, wearing good shoes is highly recommended.

It's a gorgeous and peaceful place to visit! I rejoiced of the opportunity God gave me to be able to travel constantly and to beautiful places as this one. His creations are breathtaking! I will definitely go back 😁Getting in the river was an amazing experience! The water was todd (very cold) but I felt awesome afterwards.

Peaceful without the crowds. Once the sun starts to rise, the crowds start rolling in and the entire park turns into a horrific and boisterous human zoo.

Absolutely the most beautiful scenery! Plenty of activities that include mountain biking, rock climbing, horseback riding, and plenty of picnic tables. Plenty of stuff for everybody to do whether you just want to sit and enjoy the view or do an activity.

This park was amazing!! I would definitely recommend hiking the rattlesnake trail. It has such amazing views and it's not too difficult. Though there are some parts that would require a break because of the incline. My favorite part was that you could go down by the river and sit on the rocks with the river flowing by. I would say you need to get there early because it fills up pretty quick. There's also a picnic area by the visitor center that lets you be by the river. If you want to cool off they also have a pool as you make your way into the entrance.

This is officially my favorite Colorado state park. The continental divide viewpoint was so worth the 1 1/2 mile trek to it. I’ll be back in the future to explore all the other trails!

So close to Boulder and Arvada/Golden yet so remote. This area is worth the less than 30 minute drive from either area. The county road loses it pavement just before entering the town of Eldorado Springs and once in the park there is a minor improvement. Mind the huge potholes and ripples on the road. The entrance fee is $8 per car or $3 per walk-in person. The park is open Dawn to Dusk. In the winter that means you should be leaving by 430p. The area is famous for rock climbing and the Eldorado Springs pool that dates back to the early 20th century. Check the visitor center for the history of the area. Enjoy!

Absolutely love this hike. Connects up to the Walker ranch trail. Great views and fairly easy hike with some harder bits, has length. Dog friendly but must be on leash. Great views and there is a river part way through. There are some good bouldering places, but it would be difficult to carry the supplies to certain spots. Not a super high volume of foot traffic, and a fairly quiet hike. There is a picnic area along with multiple trail heads. I reccomend the last one at the top of the road.

This place is truly magical. Stumbled upon it while my daughter was in a visit to CU. My son enjoyed all the bouldering and the views and trails were absolutely amazing. Cannot wait to come back.

El Dorado Canyon is one of the most lovely state parks in Colorado. The location is readily accessible but feels very remote. Hiking is readily accessed and there are trails and climbing areas for people of all skills. The staff at the visitor's center are helpful, friendly, and great.Be sure to reserve ahead of time because timed entry is active in the summer!Price for entry: $10

Lori, the ranger, was super helpful. She of course knew a lot about the park, but also other parks in the area.We got our Jr. Ranger pins for the boys promising to tell everyone about the trails and the park. With the new license plates covering the cost of state parks, we didn't have to pay anything to enter.Weekend and holidays, you need to make a reservation, but weekdays are not super busy.Price for entry: $0

Great park for some cool hikes and great views, used a lot by rock climbers. Road into the park is bumpy with dips of 1 or 2 ft. Leave the low rider at home
