I’m proud to say that I’ve ordered several species from this website with rarely any issue they are extremely friendly and send high quality products and theirs always something new on the lot. Personally I’ve ordered half of my rare fish from them as they often will have fish that you can’t get anywhere else. So if you want rare fish at high quality this is you place.

Bought 2 fish online. Both arrived extremely stressed. Elephant Nose died within a day, Datnoid lost its swim bladder and died within a week (didn’t get a pic) Water parameters were perfect. No aggression. All my other fish are fine. Didn’t offer any type of refund. $200 order wasted. Sucks

By far my favorite fish store in the area. This has been my go to place for over over 5 years, and they have yet to disappoint. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, environment is welcoming, super great quality products, I'd rate them higher if I could.

I was searching for a specific species of corydora and Aqua Imports was the only place that had them! I placed an order for 5 of them. They arrived well packaged and on time. I received transit notifications during the whole process. All fish arrived alive. One of the fish struggled with the stress of transport. The other 4 are healthy and were already eating the next morning! I provided the Aqua Imports team an update on my recent purchase and they were incredibly responsive and easy to work with. The guarantee was not only honored but hassle free and I was offered a credit. I will certainly be ordering from Aqua Imports in the future!

We've always loved coming here to check out the cool fish, reptiles, crustaceans and more. Today we went in to purchase our first fish and had the best experience. The person who helped us was so knowledgeable, kind and patient with me and my kiddos. We all left with new info and a cute pet the children are already loving. Thank you! Every time I go the staff is friendly and helpful. So far all my aquatic animals purchased from here has been healthy and continue to thrive. I got a nano tank, all my dwarf frogs, chili rasboras, snails, and shrimp here and couldn't be happier with their health and selection. Really glad this store is has a psychical location and an online store, as it's now favorite aquatic store in the state.

Every time I need something for one of my aquariums be it planted, fish, equipment, etc I make sure to pay these guys at Aqua Imports a visit first! I have been coming to this store for over 6 years and each and every time I have had an amazing experience. I often bring my child who also loves coming here. The biggest difference from this store and the other major Pet stores is how friendly, patient and professional everyone who works there is! They take their time, never push anything onto you, and offer you solutions for all sorts of situations.I have moved from saltwater into planted tanks (own 4 of them - bought three from these guys) and the variety of materials from rocks, to driftwood, aqua soil, and all the equipment I can think of can be found here. Their prices are very competitive so I keep coming back. They carry the finest brands of rimless aquarium and Tom, the owner mentioned that they can order pretty much anything needed!Well I don’t want to be too long here, but if you are into aquariums salt or fresh, you will be very pleased to check out the variety of livestock they carry here. It’s great to be able to support awesome local businesses like this one!

I ordered online they were very responsive. Their website was very informative and explained any questions i needed. The person who I was emailing even answered questions I asked about the fish. Lastly packaging was great. Thanks Aqua imports my fish is immaculate even after shipping 1677 miles. Just wanted to touch up. Gulper is still alive. Healthier than before and is now on frozen silversides

To start this review I would like to say that I moved out here from Tennessee to join the oilfield back home I had a really good relationship with my fish and reptile store that I have spent thousands with they were excellent. So I was looking for someone to replace them especially no that I have more money to throw at my hobby. I went in today and it honestly made me think of the store I went to back home but the I had an encounter with the manger there I asked him if I could hold a central American boa and he was very nice helping me handed it to me and the proceeded to say that if I wanted it he would take $50 of the price and we said we would think about it if he threw in the enclosure it was in. And he said we can do that so we told him we would think about it and would be back within the hour. He said no problem the offer still stands hope to see y'all back. So we come back and he proceeded to tell us because he can't order another tank to replace the one that he can't continue with the deal. So of course we were aggravated that he backed out on a deal that he said would still stand even if we left and came back. But it is what it is so I told him that we would get it if he threw in a heat pad. And he told us that he would check the price but he was sure we could work something out but then he comes back and said no we just can't be giving stuff away. And on top of that he barely knew anything about the snake needles to say I won't be come back here it a sad that a place with so much potential is held back by poor management.

I recently discovered Aqua Imports while trying to find some rare freshwater fish and can’t believe what an amazing independent store this is! I live in Minnesota and have been to the store twice. Once to pick up a gigantic piece of wood to start a blackwater aquariums and then a second time to buy a royal pleco and drive him home. Stock list is amazing and I have also purchased fish online from them including rare Leporinus octomaculatus and the red tail Chalceus- all expertly packed with hot packs and made it to my front door on time and in excellent condition. I can’t say enough nice things about Mike the owner and his amazing and knowledgeable staff. Definitely a place to check out if you like fish or reptiles.

This aquarium place is a great location to find all you need! The staff is really helpful and always willing to answer any questions you may have! They have a large selection of plants, fish, and other animals as well as all the supplies to build them nice homes!

This is a fantastic LFS and should be your first choice in Boulder County... knowledgeable staff, hard to find freshwater species, plenty of nano species options, expanding plant/hardscape selection, newly added tank space (woohoo!).You really can't go wrong with these guys, I've been a satisfied customer for years. The shrimp tanks have Planarian Worms! Bought a group of Blue Diamond shrimp yesterday and noticed the worms in the bag during acclimation. Called today and the guy didn’t seem to care much and said they are “totally harmless”. If you feel the same about Planaria worms then disregard this rating, but if you’re like me and worry about them killing shrimp and overrunning your tank then beware! Really check the bag before purchase because they have a no refund or return policy… or just simply don’t buy shrimp here. Otherwise, (the good stuff) the shrimp look healthy and are awesome color. Also got 11 while only paying for 5. If not for that then this would have been a 1 star rating.

Wonderful local store! I went to buy fish for our first aquarium, and felt well taken care of. Contact was immediate, the selection was great, all our questions were answered...it was such a lovely experience. We will be back.Update. Went back twice, and had the same uplifting experience of knowledgeable assistance, from choosing fish to care to optimizing the tank for new inhabitants. It's also just fun to see all the different fish. What a gem of a store. Context: 1 st time tank owner.

I grew up visiting aqua imports, just to look at the aquariums. Now that I have a good job and my own apt I drove two hours to do business with them.Obviously they don't appreciate me trying to negotiate prices on everything 🤣 but they still remained professional and friendly. 10/10 I'm definitely going back when I get paid again to clean out the remaining stock of my favorite fish I won't mention cause then y'all gonna get them before me.If you have questions talk to Dylan. He's full of information and taught me a few new things to help me keep my fish happy and healthy.Ps if you flush fish down the toilet you're scum.

It's the best place to go in Boulder for freshwater, saltwater, reptiles and amphibians. Their staff are educated and willing to help. They also carry pond supplies and live food. Highly recommend to stop by and check it out if you currently go to another place for your supplies.

Great fish store. It’s a serriously huge place with lots of very healthy animals. They often have hard to find animals in stock which can be supper cool.There staff are knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Your never waiting around for help to get your fish and it’s not hard to get help like I find issues with other fish stores. The staff are also never rude, I’d anything maybe too helpful haha.All the fish I have gotten from here are healthy and happy fish. They are also a good size, they seem to have significantly bigger fish than other stores.They are more expensive than petco or pet smart but that’s what you pay for incredibly high quality healthy fish.

I bought 6 Zebra otos on the website from them. One is dead on arrival and another one died immediately after I put them in my tank. Those otos were in horrible coindition and had been starved for a very long time. They are skinny and pale compared to 4 zebra otos I have in my well-established tank. Not sure if the remaining 4 can make it.They refunded one zebra oto and didn't respond to my message after that. If you want to squander your money and buy dying fishes, they are your top choices

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! Absolutely terrible buying experience!! We ordered a baby MBU puffer and it arrived EMACIATED and swimming in loops in the bag. It came on a Thursday and was dead by Saturday night. The company refused to refund us for this very expensive fish!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED!! This poor fish should NEVER have been shipped in this condition in the first place!! This place has NO INTEGRITY!!!!!For background info, my wife has been keeping fish for 14 years and we have another beautiful, healthy, young MBU puffer that we raised from about 2” to its current 12” which we had purchased elsewhere. We also own multiple other tanks of healthy, happy fish. We maintain our tanks well and the new fish was placed in a cycled quarantine tank which is regularly tested and the water parameters were perfect. The fish arrived on my wife’s day off from work and the UPS driver rang our doorbell, so she brought the fish in immediately and acclimated it properly!

This is a must stop in Boulder for anyone interested in the hobby! Great selection of frest and salt water fish, plants, and accessories. I am most impressed by the tremendous service I always get when I come to the store. The staff are knowlegable, friendly, but not pushy at all. Special thanks to Emily for her help with fresh water aquatics, especially plants. They are priced very competitivley, and I don't get the type of service they offer through buying on the internet. Thanks to the Aqua Imports team for the special care you give the inventory of wet pets and your customers!
