We came at a busy time but the food still came out reasonably quickly. It was priced fairly. Most importantly it tasted GREAT! My husband had a burrito that was huge. I tried the macho nacho delux and both were delicious. Fresh jalapeños and salsa made it even better. Kids had the chicken nuggets and corn dogs both were happy with their meal. It was $57 for all 4 of us. I would definitely recommend. Not to mention the view is amazing.

We stopped by while looking at land in the area. I absolutely loved the family environment. From talking to our waiter who just moved here with his family to help his mother, who owned the restaurant. The food was perfect and affordable. Enjoyed seeing all the ages there working together ❤️ this will be a regular one day for my family.

Needed some lunch between Sand Dunes and Mesa Verde so we were glad to find this diner. We got tacos and they were fine, didn’t have a lot of meat or spice to them and service was a little slow when we needed our check but overall fine

The food was wonderful, and our wait staff was on her game. We knew the food would be good because of the amount of cars in the parking lot, including truckers. I had Lu's Homemade Meatloaf with fresh mashed potatoes, a salad and a corn medley. I highly recommend her meatloaf... just like I make at home. We will definitely be stopping back by when in town.

First I am going to review the host Michael. He was very polite made a lot of good suggestions but all of you know how I feel about green chili so I went with the grande burrito. First I'm going to start with the presentation which was really good made my mouth water so that's a plus. It was steaming hot which is another plus just on appearance the green chili was a great color, and smelled really good. the refried beans were seasoned very well not overly seasoned and not under seasoned. Definitely homemade. The ground beef was also seasoned very well not overly seasoned, or not under seasoned, which made for a great combination. Now let's get to the green chili. It had a great taste. Could have used just a touch more seasoning. The pork to green chili ratio was perfect didn't feel like I was eating a pork chop, but yet also didn't feel like if the cook was being cheap on the pork meat. The only thing was it could have been a bit spicier and could have had more of a kick to it. I definitely would eat here again and bring my family if they adjust the spiciness of the green chili I will definitely adjust my rating. Also the guacamole is awesome I loved it thank you for the great service and the good food. Solid 4 Stars.

We stopped here after visiting Sand Dunes, and it was a great choice. The service was friendly and the food was delicious - well-seasoned, too, which is surprisingly rare in a lot of restaurants I've visited across middle America.If you're heading through Blanca or Fort Garland on a road trip, you can't do much better than Lu's for a good spot to stop for food.

Ordered 2 cheese enchiladas and 1beef enchilada with refried beans and rice.. it was good but not great.. the refried beans were kinda dried out and the rice is actually Spanish rice which tastes okay but not like any Mexican rice I've had in any Mexican restaurant in the country.. also the enchiladas had no ranchero sauce to speak of mostly covered in a blend of cheese.. no real hot salsa here.. only a very mild salsa which really surprised me.. I've had the Chili Verde here before and it's very good..

Nice place serving a vast area. We went there in off season and it was the only restaurant open in about 30 mins every direction. Service a bit slow but that's understandable for such a remote place.

Stop and eat. It's super clean, delicious breakfast until 11am with a beautiful full menu. Tables and dining room were so we'll put together and the coffee was hot! Highly recommend...would have given 6+ stars of I could!

We stopped here at lunch time on a Saturday on our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park so it was pretty busy and took a little while to get our food, but the service was good and it was delicious. My husband had the enchiladas and said he could tell the red sauce was homemade. I had the chili cheesesteak and it was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend.

What a hidden gem! We rolled in with a group of 20 scouts and they took great care of us.The food was beyond excellent... and the staff was fantastic.Honestly... I'd drive hundreds of miles out of my way to eat at this place it was SOOO good!

Great cafe in the small town of Blanca. Service was friendly and moderate on timing, and the food was delicious with large portions and reasonable prices. They have several options including breakfast and burgers/sandwiches and some house specials. I ordered a coffee and the chicken fried steak. The steak was tender with a crisp fry and a creamy sausage gravy. Hash browns were perfect, soft with a crisp top. It’s served with a choice of 4 different types of bread. Everything was well seasoned. I would definitely recommend and eat here again when in the area.

Not bad, not great... I'm thinking it's probably best for breakfast. They were nice and gave us breakfast burritos even though they had moved on to lunch. We liked our burritos and the green chili was 7/10... the folks who got Mexican lunch items didn't enjoy theirs too much. Decent service.

I will always try to stop by when visiting family in the valley. They the BEST breakfast burritos with smothered green chile I have ever had. They also make delicious hamburgers smothered in green chile as well. This place gets busy, so plan on enjoying the atmosphere and local flavor since many people come here.

Really enjoyed this little diner. Passed it many times coming through the San Luis Valley but never had the time to stop — so glad I did with my family. Had a GREAT home-cooked breakfast — my wife really enjoyed her breakfast burrito made with green chiles — my kids had pancakes the size of their heads — and to top it off, the average price per plate was around $10, which is unheard of these days! This place is a gem and I will absolutely be back at every opportunity coming through Blanca!
