I LOVED my spa experience! All the staff were so warm and inviting! The amenities and services were top-notch, and the extras of staff knowing and wishing me a happy birthday was so sweet. Even the other customers were a sweet vibe and enjoyable to chat with. Everything was super clean and sanitized. The robes are sooo thick, soft and smelled of lavender. The views were gorgeous š. I will be adding this experience to my normal self-care routine!

Easily my favorite place to stay in Black Hawk! The rooms are always in amazing condition and the amenities are luxurious and beautiful. The pool stays open later for adults, which is ideal after a few hours in the casino. I've not yet tried the spa, however every time I have stayed it has always looked appealing! The buffet was fresh and unique and delicious. The service was prompt and efficient. We also dined at the sit down restaurant located next to the Starbucks and had an amazing breakfast with an amazing server.I recommend this place over any others in the area. Always a stay to remember!

Everything about this resort-casino is wonderful. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean. In fact the entire casino is clean and well kept. There is always an abundance of staff available throughout the hotel and casino to help with anything needed. We ate at all the restaurants/buffet/cafe at least once and all the food was wonderful no matter the time of day. I used the spa for a facial and wish I had booked more services. The prices are fair/competitive for resort pricing and the service was incredible. I only wish I had booked more services. Thereās also access to complimentary private amenities in the spa area that were very relaxing and comfortable including a spa grotto. Lastly, I tend to get bored with gaming while my husband can go ALL day long, but I joined black jack and roulette tables for a night and it was so much fun! If youāre new to gaming just ask questions if youāre unsure and the other gamers and staff will help guide you. The blackjack tables we played were $25min and I donāt remember if there was a minimum for roulette but each bet was $1. Also, be sure to get the rewards card before you start playing so that you get credits toward extra play or free meals - Monarch does great benefits! Lastly we had a resort host, Phil, that checked in with us early on and was available if we needed anything which we didnāt but it was nice to know there was an actual person that would take my call if we needed anything. I canāt say enough good things about this experience and we will definitely be back!

The casino and hotel are wonderfully clean & the staff are all friendly. My only issue is it's not very disability friendly, especially the ADA rooms. The door to my room was incredibly heavy with no way to hold it open. This made it very difficult to get in and out of my room. The outside doors also do not have automatic openers, making it difficult to independently get in and out of the casino. I understand the automatic openers would cost the casino, but something like a door stop or holder for the room would be extremely inexpensive and make a huge difference for disabled guests. That being said the staff was all very kind & helpful, and the room was beautifully clean and had a lovely view. I just wish it had been easier for me to get in and out of my room, and in and out of the casino.

We made a reservation for our stay through Monarchs website. Upon arrival and during the check-in process, we were informed that the room we had reserved was not available and that we would be given a lower tiered room instead. As experienced travelers, we understand that hotels sometimes overbook. However, there was no explanation provided during the check-in process. Given that it was our anniversary weekend, we were understandably disappointed with this situation. In an attempt to address our concerns, the receptionist consulted with someone behind the desk and later informed us that there were no other options but to accept the downgrade. Surprisingly, there was no offer to move us to the room we had originally reserved for the second night of our stay (2 night stay), even though it was shown as available on the website. Throughout this entire ordeal, there was no compensatory effort or even a simple apology for the inconvenience. It would have made a significant difference if there had been some level of empathy displayed, but unfortunately, it was a "take it or leave it" situation. Needless to say, our weekend was completely ruined because if we wanted a "regular" room, we could've stayed at a less expensive casino, especially since the room that we were given had a sink that took an hour to drain and a broken cabinet door to the refrigerator.

We stayed the night March 18, this hotel casino is beautiful, pool area was amazing the pool was heated and the hot tubs were perfect. towels and water are provided and I love the adult only time.. we ate dinner and breakfast at the 24/7, service and food was great... my husband upgraded us and got the huge jacuzzi suite and unfortunately we were not able to use it because it was not cleaned and 2 scum rings were very obvious. As my husband filled out a comment card the only reply he received was I'm sorry... when you spend good money on a room that focuses on a jacuzzi tub it should be clean for your guests to use... the coffee station was sticky and trash was under the dresser... one of the sinks was also clogged and only one robe was provided... the bed was comfortable but when I woke up the next morning the sheet was pulled back from duvet and to my surprise there was a brown stain... not sure what it was and I wasn't trying to find out... when we checked out I made sure it was exposed so that hopefully it would be changed...please email me so that I can fwd the pictures to you..Rooms: Very beautiful roomSafety: You can only access your floor and pool/spa area and casinoFood & drinks: Great food and drinks... a little on the pricey side

Ate lunch at 24-7 - unfortunately my cheeseburger resembled nothing like the advertisement at restaurant entrance. My burger was cooked frozen patty - not fresh ground beef - so disappointing, especially for the price. French dip was so-so at best. The fries were good. Overall cost of each lunch dish + glass of house wine + tip was just under $40 per diner.

This is an excellent hotel. Itās the best in Blackhawk, by a lot. The thing that befuddles me is the elevators. Theyāre too clever by half. Theyāve removed the buttons and replaced them with star-trek terminals out in the waiting area that may or may not work. Theyāve eliminated the lighted numbers that tell you when to expect the car. Everything is dependent on the magnetic card that is at risk if you keep it in the same pocket as your phone, or if the desk clerk makes a typo, or if the moon is in the wrong phase, or whatever. Nothing is gained here and, no doubt, itās terribly expensive. I thought I already knew how to operate an elevator but they manage to leave you standing around feeling stupid. I guess thatās life and n 2024. At least it isnāt a phone app.

Wow! My husband and I stayed here when our flight got cancelled last winter. This resort was truly magical and very romantic. The views are spectacular, it really made me fall even more in love with Colorado. The breath taking beauty of the mountains throughout the whole resort was so lovely and inspiring. The rooms are very clean and great for a getaway. Love thereās a casino too! The casino was so much fun and the dealers really make the tables shine and lively. This is one of the few resort casinos that I truly miss my time here and think about often, it felt like a home away from home by how nice every staff member and guests were at monarch. The breakfast was delicious, wide variety, and kept us full for our day of travel. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Monarch and cannot wait to come back in the spring and enjoy a stay in the suites while trying our luck at the casino!

We had a wonderful time at the Monarch Casino Resort. As an older couple we were so impressed by the staff taking the time to help us navigate the new technology. The room was perfect, it was quiet and relaxing. The pool area was beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor hot tub.The only thing we would want is a few more water bottles in the room.

Check is is at 4. So, we get in line at 4. "Give us your phone # so we can call you when your room is ready." WHAT? "Oh, no no. Check in is btwn 4 and 6." What an absolute joke. Not to mention that the parking garage is a HIKE from the lobby. They have a bellhop service to check your baggage until your room is ready...telling me this is a constant issue. The whole point was to get our room and go have dinner. Unbeleivable. The cheapest Blackjack table is $25. Those are my complaints. Otherwise, the rooms were fine and quiet. The food was good but very expensive. I would not recommend and will not return.

Spa review: Absolutely amazing! Came here for my Birthday with my Mom and did not want to leave!Check-in was a breeze - we felt very welcome. They are plus-size friendly! And oh my, the signature massage I received from Reesa was the best massage I've ever had!!!The treatment rooms are beyond serene and the facilities and amenities at this day spa are better than any others in the Denver area, by a long shot.Quite possibly the best spa I've ever been to and what puts them further ahead is their really attentive and friendly staff. Sylvia gave us our tour and we were wow'd by the salt cave room, steam room, dry sauna room, hot tub room, and even the locker room! The salt cave room has led lights on the ceiling that give it the feel of a starry night and the salt wall changes color slowly making it quite mesmerizing. They have everything you need - robe, sandals, hair ties, hairbrush, curling iron, hair dryer, shower cap, shaver, deodorant, mouthwash, toothbrush with toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, q-tips, makeup remover wipes, and secure lockers. There is also plenty of citrus infused water available and one room had hot water and a selection of tea to choose from as well as fresh apples and oranges, and crispy banana chips, pretzels, and trail mix. With a treatment, you get 4 hours in the spa and access to the hotel pool and outdoor hot tub and fire pit/rocking chairs on the patio. Totally worth it!My only complaint is that the snack bar/pool side was closed and apparently that happens a lot because the hotel management puts the bartender in a different location when they're not busy at the pool. This is the only spot to get drinks and snacks close by and as they forbid outside food and drinks, it seems rather unfair to close it for spa guests. They need another way to get food and drinks to these areas - maybe a digital ordering system to the main floor and a server to bring up food and drink to these areas. All in all, a wonderful experience, though. Can't wait to come back!

Of all the casinos in Blackhawk, this is the newest with the most amenities. There is a spa and pool on the top floor, several places to eat, and a buffet that is out of this world. The high-end chop house has 60-80 dollar entrees. The latin American restaurant has half priced cocktails and appetizers on Wednesday night. The cocktails were very good. I recommend the blood orange margarita. There is also a cafe called 24-7 with hamburgers, fries, and chicken, all reasonably priced. We tried them all and enjoyed every meal. We had the lunch buffet, and I attached a video of the sweet treats. There are Chinese, Mexican, Italian, and American dishes. Meats, salads, breads, basically anything you can think of. The buffet is about 10-12 buffet tables long and wraps the entire back wall of the restaurant. The lunch buffet is 28.99 per person, but of course, a new Monarch player gets a comped buffet after a few hours playing slots. The dinner buffet is 58.99 a person.Monarch was a great place to spend a night visiting "little Vegas."Walkability: Monarch is the last casino in the line of hotel/casinos. The strip with hotels is very walkable. There is also a shuttle that runs every 30 minutes.

*** Update: I was contacted by the hotel manager after leaving my original review. She advised that my stay was fully refunded and she had notified the appropriate departments. ***Stayed and played at Monarch recently for a girl's overnight trip. My friends and I found the staff to be extremely rude, particularly the male bellhop in his 40s with longer dishwater blonde hair. We asked the front desk gal if we could use one of the bellhop carts to get our luggage from self park. She said we couldn't take the cart but one of the bellhops could come out to our car w/us to assist. We then spoke with the above mentioned bellhop who laughed sarcastically and replied, "there is NO WAY that's happening!", in a very condescending tone. A couple hours later, I needed to check out early due to altitude sickness. The front desk agent accepted my key with no offer for refund, discount or future voucher. Their other staff, including cocktail waitresses and casino floor bosses all had poor attitudes as well. After receiving an email the following morning telling me I could conveniently check out online, it was apparent the clerk did nothing but accept my key the previous evening. Finally, I called to complain to a manager. I started by saying we had a poor experience and asking if she'd like to hear the details. She responded with a sigh, saying, "that's why I'm sitting here listening to you now, isn't it?". At that point, I ended the call as it was clear that even Monarch's management has no concern for good customer service. Will NEVER stay at Monarch again! Ameristar is nicer in every way.

I would love to say after spending 1k in one day here it was a five star experience but it just wasnāt. The rooms 5/5.Now for all the cons: employees are rude and unwilling to help, also totally clueless. Do NOT go here knowing nothing about gambling, free drinks while gambling are non existent. If you want the āfreeā buffet when you arrive just spend the $58 to get in instead of spending $700 to earn it via gambling. My husband doesnāt look like the typical American white man, so we got different treatment than the people around us.Food at the bistro was delicious and restaurant was nice, BUT they were giving away free samples away of horchata to everyone sitting at the bar. They ignored us and skipped over us so my husband decided to ask if we could have a sample as well. Then they proceeded to put it on our bill, even though everyone else was offered a free sample. The LACK of respect we received here was unacceptable. The atmosphere and the people it draws in honestly just sucks. So if you or your spouse donāt look like a typical American than I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. The employees here do not understand all money spends the same.

I never leave reviews but if you are considering going to the Monarch Spa DO IT! Iām an aesthetician so I have been to a lot of spas and Monarch Spa was by far the best Iāve been to - the amenities were amazing, the service was 10/10, everything was so beautiful. I saw Anthony for a 90 minute hot stone massage and it was one of the best massages Iāve had (if not the best). Worth every penny and worth the drive from Denver. Just had to leave my experience because I was looking around at spas to treat myself for my birthday and Iām so glad I chose the Monarch spa.

This is by far the best casino resort in Black Hawk. The downside to that is higher table limits, especially on Friday and Saturday. And they are always busy...but again it's the best place so it shouldn't be a surprise. But for the most part, you shouldn't have any issues getting a table or machine that you want to play. The service whether a casino dealer, hotel personnel, or restaurant staff is always really awesome. The buffet is kinda overpriced for what you get in my opinion but the food is pretty damn good for being a buffet and it's always fresh. I highly recommend The Chophouse restaurant, it's honestly in my top 10 favorite restaurants out of anywhere I've been. But just make sure to have a reservation because they are always booked up. If you just walk in to ask for a table chances are you won't get in...we go up there all the time and the few times it was last minute and not planned we weren't able to get a table. And just to give an example, I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and I ended up getting super sick and was in horrible pain. My girlfriend couldn't drive as she had been "celebrating" like I told her to go do, but came back to the room super early and called the front desk as we didn't know which hospital to go to. They were so amazing and called an ambulance for us and the head of security and VIP service manager came to our room and escorted us out to the ambulance. I made her leave me at the hospital and go back up there because I had a big day planned for her up there and didn't want her to miss it, and they made sure to really take care of her. So when I say 5-star service I really mean it. So head up the hill and check this place out it's awesome!!

This place is amazing. Beautiful on the inside. And the rooms are very spacious and very nice. Treat yourself. 24/7 restaurant has very good food. The waiters and waitresses are very nice. Please remember to tip. 2 levels of gambling. Free covered parking. I promise you will love this place. Remember they have a free shuttle that hits all of black hawk and central city. It is free. Please remember to top the drivers. Shuttle runs every 20 to 30 minutes.

Visited Monarch Casino for March Madness. Great place to enjoy the games and, of course, sports betting if that's your thing! The Sports Book area needs more comfortable seating. The casino needs to seriously address the quality of the various food options they provide guests. We've eaten at all the various restaurants at this property, and I sadly wouldn't recommend any of them. They are catering to a mostly captive audience who are willing to pay expensive prices. I don't think it's too much to expect that you will at least get a tasty meal in return for paying the high prices. Please do better Monarch!

Some hippy in charge or ordering for food and beverage ruined the chicken wings at 24/7. They used to be amazing! Now they ordered cage free and they are tiny and burnt. Twelve wings used to be a full meal that was tough to finish and now itās barely an appetizer. The price however has not changed, only the value. The rest of the casino is still nice though.

Expensive SPA experience. However. It was worth the money. Casino disappointed in the change from last year. Newer video machines replaced almost all traditional machines. NEVER ever was approached in 3 days by a cocktail server! Winning or not. Good thing I donāt indulge in alcohol or that would be a reason not to return.Rooms: Very clean rooms, standard layout, disappointed microwaves were removed even at the penthouse levelFood & drinks: Expensive expensive expensive Service is mediocre. Nothing has changed since Covid.

2024-April. My sister goes here often and she invited me and my son to stay overnight with her.We arrived at 230 pm. The regular check-in was at 4 pm.The check-in process was quick because there were 3 staff members at the front desk. We got checked in in less than 5 minutes. Since our room was ready, we were handed our room key card.Check-in: 4 pmCheck out: NoonDuring check-in, the front desk told us that the pool is closed for maintenance but may open later. We called back an hour later, and they told us that it would be closed for the rest of the day. We were so bummed because my son and I were looking forward to the pool.We also checked in early because the pool is only open for children til 6 pm. After that, it's an adults-only swim from 6 pm to 10 pm & 6 am to 10 am.Valet parking is free.Lots of food choices but a little pricy. It has a 24/7 snack bar with cakes, cookies, and ice creams šThe room was a decent size. Two queen beds, a nightstand in between the 2 beds, a lamp above the nightstand, 2 chairs, 1 small table, a desk, 1 desk chair, 1 Samsung flat screen with 48 channels (including a few kid's channels), and Chromecast for casting, single serve coffee maker with coffee pods and tea pods, 2 complimentary water bottles, mini fridge, ice bucket, closet, iron & ironing board, a floor lamp, a safe, luggage rack, a bench, typical small toiletries, hair dryer, a double-sided magnifying mirror, and a full-length mirror. The shower head and the electronic clock on the side table need to be cleaned better (See photos). There were TV HDMI hookups on the side of the desk.Water pressure could be increased. The thermostat in the wall responded quickly. There is a procedure for using the elevators. There's a little touchscreen on every floor in the elevator area. You choose your desired floor, scan your room key card, and it will show the elevator car you need to use.Getting your car from valet parking will be about 10 minutes max.You could check out through the TV, but the room we stayed in, gave us an error, so we called the front desk to check out.Overall, the hotel is good for adults. But I wouldn't recommend it if you have kids. Or they should have allowed us to cancel our reservation since the pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance.Thank you for reading and let me know if I missed anything.Good luck š and have a great stay š

Monarch is our favorite getaway location. Good entertainment, awesome view from the top at the pool/jacuzzi area.Highly recommend their buffet as well, we're big fans of seafood and they have lobster and crab, shame it's only one per person but still good.Make sure to try the outdoor jacuzzi if you go, quite refreshing.Keep up the good work Monarch!Safety: Small town, no homeless people as far as i can tell, we had no issues walking around and felt safe.Food & drinks: Buffet is good, great variety for food and desserts. Some seafood which is a plus.

Could use more smoking areas! It goes hand in hand. I donāt knit of too many non smoking gamblers. A casino should be a place where you donāt have to worry about those folks, like the one last oasis for smokers.

Itās a casino, so there is still that general attitude from the staff that you have more boundaries than they have customer service skills. That being said, everything is worth the price tag and itās a great time. If you arenāt a gambler, you can spend all day a night on the 23rd floor which has a great pool area and vast spa amenities.Food & drinks: The buffet is great but be there by 6pm if you donāt want to wait a long time.

We got to the resort and everything was great. About 11:00 p.m. the toilet started making weird sounds and erupted gross bubbles. They sent somebody up to fix it, we returned to the room about 1:00 a.m. still not fixed. Called again, and then at 4:10 a.m. we were told that they were not able to fix the problem and then we had to go pack all our stuff and move to a different room. This staff knew about this problem and still booked us in a room that had issues. This morning I talked to the manager of the hotel and they told me that they understood how much of a inconvenience that they created for us, and offered to comp the $60 in Resort fees. I was told She would not comp the room, so I asked who can comp the room, the Manager stated that the room will not be getting, comped. This is a very nice hotel, but with the exception of the cocktail waitstaff, the rest of the staff has an attitude that you would expect from staying at Super 8 motel.
