I asked for a new vaporizer cartridge for sleep. The product they gave me made my head race. I went back to the store to ask about it. The guy asked me for my driver's license which he took behind the counter. He told me that what I bought had "citrines" in it, which "often cause a racy sensation." I asked for a discount on something with no citrines in it or a refund, and he said no. I left with no resolution. A couple of weeks later I realized my driver's license was missing. I figured it would turn up but after several weeks I bit the bullet and went through the torture, time and frustration of dealing with the DMV to replace it. About three weeks later Silver Peak called to say they have my driver's license. When I went to get it I asked why they waited so long to tell me they had it. The woman said, "We didn't have your contact information." When I pointed out that they somehow did manage to call me and that addresses are on licenses she replied, "Maybe you should keep better track of your stuff." Flabbergasting, especially from a store that physically takes your license into their possession but leaves it to you to remember to get it back. This store was an unpleasant experience on so many levels, and at every opportunity they made it worse. Shop one block away and get some decent service.

In my opinion, Silverpeak in Aspen is the absolute worst marijuana store in Colorado. I have never had a worst experience in a marijuana store anywhere in the country. I had the misfortune of wandering into Silverpeak wanting to purchase a few pre-rolls. First, the store was out of several of the pre-rolls they advertised on their printed menus. Second, the prices in this store are absolutely ridiculous--I would estimate 30-40% more than any other store in Colorado. But hey--this is a store in downtown Aspen with upscale finishes designed to appeal to the upscale Aspen demographic. And if it was simply the low stock and high prices, I wouldn't have written this review.However, I was a victim of either egregious staff incompetence or a possible bait and switch scam. I specifically requested a 2 pack of 710 Labs pre-rolls. When the clerk behind the counter pulled the container, the jar looked large for two pre-rolls. So, I again asked if that was the 2 pack and the clerk once again confirmed that the container was indeed the 2 pack of 710 lab pre-rolls. I then checked out and used a debit card to pay. Immediately after paying and being handed the jar (within 60-90 seconds), I again wondered if I was sold the two pack because the jar seemed heavy (a lot of weed companies are notorious for over-packaging) so I looked inside and there were 10 pre-rolls, not 2. And when I looked at my receipt, I was charged about $160 for the 10 pack instead of $60 for the two pack (which itself is a crazy price).I immediately called this to the attention of another clerk (the clerk who helped me was now helping someone else) and told them the other clerk made an obvious error and sold me a 10 pack when I repeatedly asked for a two pack. This clerk was arrogant, rude, dismissive and told me "sorry Dude, once you pay for it there is no refund." And he also had the great idea to blame the incident on me by arguing "it was my fault because I should have noticed the higher price." That is great customer service--blame the customer for a mistake. I used a debit card and didn't even see the price until after I was charged.While I was arguing with the arrogant and rude clerk at Silverpeak in Aspen, the clerk that helped me came up and I told him what happened. His immediate response to the other clerk (who I assume is his supervisor) was to say "Oh wow--I f***ed that up." Despite his immediate admission that it was his fault and he made a mistake, Silverpeak of Aspen still refused to refund my money for their mistake. Their explanation was that Colorado law does not allow returns of a product. I am sure Colorado law doesn't allow returns of weed, but nothing would have prevented Silverpeak of Aspen from fixing their mistake by paying me the difference between what I paid and what I should have paid for the product I requested (and asked for clarification two times). I am pretty sure Colorado law doesn't prevent Silverpeak of Aspen from making a situation right by simply paying me the overcharge in cash (or credit or some free merchandise of the same value or any other gesture that would acknowledge they made a mistake that cost me $100). Instead of accepting responsibility, this arrogant clerk wanted to blame me, Colorado law, or anything else other than their own incompetence.I understand that mistakes occur. The difference between a business that is run properly and cares about their customers is how they handle the mistake. A well run business will admit the mistake and go above and beyond to correct it. A poorly run business staffed by incompetent and rude employees will ignore the mistake and try to shift blame from them to the customer, which is exactly how Silverpeak of Aspen handled this mistake in my opinion. They could have corrected this problem in any number of ways, but instead the blamed me for the mistake (despite the clerk readily admitting it was his fault). I can only assume that Silverpeak owners James Young and Chapman Ducote have set the tone for how Silverpeak handles mistakes and treats their customers.

I always come to this dispensary when in Aspen. It’s a great spot, always smells delicious inside and the biggest plus is the sandwich grill place right outside. Couldn’t be better positioned!
