While seeking a groomer for my two Saint Pyrenees dogs (St Bernard/Great Pyrenees) who have long hair and are both over 100 lbs., my vet recommended I take them to the Aspen Animal Shelter. She described the groomer to be the "dog grooming whisperer"! She was 100% right. I had feared my dogs would resist and become agitated during the washing and drying episode since their hair had become matted over the prior winter months. upon picking them up later that afternoon, I found them to be not only gorgeous, but they were also calm in nature. I recommend the shelter for grooming needs as I am over the moon satisfied!

I just left for a nail clipping for my golden Ella--THE BEST EVER--I forgot to leave a tip for the groomer and when I called they were kind enough to put the tip on my card for him!!!! All around the best place for EVERYTHING!!! Thank you Susan Shapiro

I dropped off my golden there when I was skiing in aspen.Very friendly staff and my dog loved being there for day care.I was so easy I dropped him off in the morning and picked him up after skiing.On request they feed him. He truly enjoyed his trip to aspen while I was able to ski without being worried about my dog being in the hotel alone.Great place and super nice staff who truly care for animals.

Mojo and Cauli came with us on a road trip from Arkansas. We knew that skiing would take up some time so we wanted to be sure that they could have fun and not be stuck in a hotel all day. The Aspen Animal Shelter was perfect as it provided boarding and doggy day care. I’m always nervous leaving my pups somewhere new but they were great and even allow you the option to check your pup out for the day and return them back for their boarding at night. They also have cameras out in the doggy day care so you can see them enjoying themselves! As someone who has two rescues and loves to help out shelters it was great to be able to support and animal shelter and also get a great service out of it! Would definitely recommend and will use if and when we come back to Aspen!

This was our pup's first boarding experience. She has a history of manageable anxiety in new situations; we weren't sure how this would go. We had a great conversation w/ Seth, the owner, who has run this shelter for a loooong time. Our pup was seemingly really well looked after. We visited halfway through our trip for a walk. Afterwards as we re-entered the shelter, she didn't look back but rather trotted right back for her continued vacation visiting w/ furry friends.

We were visiting Snowmass Village from PA and wanted a companion for the trails. We visited the Aspen Animal Shelter and were lucky enough to have the pleasure of borrowing Dasha, a 3 year old Husky. We hiked with her for about 2 hours, and she was great the entire time. If we didn't live on the other side of the country we definitely would have adopted her.

We chose Aspen solely because of the Aspen Animal Shelter. We looked at several places in the Colorado area and loved what we saw at Aspen Animal Shelter. We drove from Memphis for this experience and the staff was perfect. Our German Sheperd is our baby and we just do not trust anyone with him. This was a bucket list trip for my wife and I. My wife asked me traveling back what was my favorite experience in Aspen and it was the place we trusted with our baby. Aspen is beautiful.

Seth and the crew at the Aspen Animal Shelter run a very unique home for animals. Imagine a shelter where very wealthy people bring their beloved pets for boarding while they leave town for extended periods. That's how cool the Aspen Animal Shelter is. Dedicated volunteers come to walk the shelter dogs and acclimate them so that they can be adopted by caring families. It is a model for the rest of the world.

We boarded our small group dog for approx. 16 hours overnight in early Sept. Seemed the care was OK. But be aware that the $40 fee is PER CALENDAR DAY. Thus, our bill the was $80! Just wanted to remind all.

Super friendly staff. Knowledgeable about the animals they have for adoption. Reasonable adoption fees. We paid 100 dollars for our great new pet. They had just neutered him, microchipped him and his shots were up to date until 2020. We adopted him May 2017. This is a NO KILL shelter. Great place !

The gentleman who runs this facility really understands his dog breeds and gave us candid and honest feedback as to what breed would suit our needs. The facility was clean, light, and the animals were well taken care of.

This no-kill shelter is very dog friendly and has a spacious room with a fountain for cats. They offer pet care for families who go on vacation and need to kennel a dog or cat. They also offer pet grooming and trimming for cats and dogs.

I got my service dog, Boo from the shelter and it’s been a life changing experience. The shelter staff cares SO much about the wellbeing of the animals - of all animals and about finding them the divine right homes.

Great place to adopt a dog or cat. They have a little store with leashes, food and toys and while not cheap, it supports the shelter.Staff is very helpful and kind.
