Chuck and Don's is a good pet store. The stores are clean, well laid out. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I would say it's a little bit more of a higher end store. Pricing is fair. And they send you coupons and promotions when you sign up with them.

Staff is always polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The natural dog chew toys (stag horn, elk horn, moose horn) are the best! Big selection of treats. Dog cookies for special occasions are nice too. It’s cool that I can buy my dog a beer (cookie) for his birthday 🍺

I love this store location! Very knowledgeable team, always have healthy options in stock for my furkids. Today I am home sick so I did an online order. It arrived within 2 hours! Top quality nutrition with educated employees. Five stars!

Chuck & Don's has what my cats and doggos need. The friendly staff make sure to keep good stock, and if there's something they don't carry, they are willing to place a custom order. This store also offers day of delivery, which helps keep me out of a pinch when my schedule loads up.

I usually do my best to give everyone a break when it comes to customer service but I have to speak up on this one! My wife and 6 year old son arrived at the store at 7:55 to grab one bag of dog food as she worked late and couldn't get there any earlier she knew she had 5 minutes before closing and would make it quick in and out. Upon arrival and walking through the door she was greeted with " I'M CLOSINGS IN ONE MINUTE " what a warm welcome that was..Once my wife and son were made aware that her presence was a burden on the employee (that gets paid to service customers until 8pm) and that my wife needed to hurry up because she has a total of 60 seconds to find her item and leave before the doors lock , she made her way to the aisle with the specific brand of dog food that she needed and couldn't find it, my wife kindly asked the employee if they had the specific brand and flavor, the friendly helpful reply from the store clerk was " WHAT WE HAVE IS WHATS ON THE SHELVES".In that case my wife took it upon herself to look for the food without any help and another uncomfortable remark from the employee.To make things even more awkward, while my wife was scanning the aisle for the food the employee decided it would be a good idea to turn off all of the lights in the store as to hurry my wife up...now without any help locating the dog food without any help ahe is now looking around IN THE DARK doing her best to get the bag located and get the heck out!The transaction was very awkward as the clerk was explaining how she needed my wife to hurry up so that she could get to her sister's Birthday party...I guess my wife got the point with the" IM CLOSE IN ONE MINUTE ""WHAT WE HAVE IS WHATS ON THE SHELVESCREATING A SAFETY AND TRIPPING HAZARD BY TURNING THE LIGHTS OFF TO HURRY UP AND FRIGHTEN LONG TERM CUSTOMERSEXPLAINING THAT WE ARE A BURDEN AND THAT SHE WOULD RATHER BE ON HER WAY TO HER SISTERS BIRTHDAY PARTY INSTEAD OF THANKING US FOR OUR BUSINESS....Such a bizarre experience..The store is great and past experiences were always great but tonight was unacceptable and quite baffling to say the least. 12/11/23

This store at Candelas in Arvada is a great store. The clerks are always helpful, and they carry a wide variety of foods and other things that my dogs need!!!! I love the program they run where you get a free bag of dog food, after you have purchased so many of the same kind. I just got my free bag of dog food, and that is a big plus!!!!!

A gem of an experience at C&D Candelas. Greeted by the store manager and staff with friendly smiles and a helpful attitude. Manager Anai answered my many questions about puppy food from her experiences and training. She is well versed in canine nutrition down to amino acids and micronutrients. She also fitted my pup with an inexpensive walking halter knowing the black lab would outgrow it rapidly. She knew it would be foolish to buy expensive items for a growing pup. I appreciated that. I have been back several times and always enjoy the friendly interaction with helpful advice/information.

Jackie was amazing! I needed some advice on a good food to help with a foster-failure pug we have, who also is on the lean-side. She recommended a freeze-dried additive that my pug LOVES, that is high protein and has healthy-skin and coat ingredients. She was super-helpful and knowledgeable about the products and was dead-on with her recommendation. Again, he loves it! Jackie represents Chuck and Don's well! I will be back for sure!

Nice store. The male cashier was a bit disappointing though. He did not apply the discounted price upon check out and took him a while to apply it. Did not even bother to apologize for misquoting out total price. Overall seemed rude and not very attentive.

Great Local Pet Store!I can't say enough about the Chuck & Don's store at Candelas in Arvada. The staff is SO friendly and incredibly helpful. We recently adopted a puppy and Ray (Assistant Manager) and Sam (Store Associate) were a wealth of knowledge in helping us select food and supplies for our pup. We have already been back several times and each experience is fantastic. SHOP LOCAL AND SUPPORT THIS AMAZING STORE!!!

I have been doing business with this location ever since it opened. They made sure that I had the special ordered food for my geriatric dog who had stomach issues. They are always so thoughtful and great! When Boomer passed away, they sent me a Condolence Card. Very good people.

My family and I came in tonight to look at some dog food options that offered both fish and grain. We felt we knew what we were looking for, but quickly became overwhelmed and reached out to Raymond for advice. He was exceptionally knowledgable, personable, and helpful. He took the time to go over the not just the differences in the foods, but the brands as well. He really went the extra mile to be sure we were not only happy with our purchase and experience, but left the store more informed than when we came in. We were able to find a reasonably priced dog food that met our needs, as well as some extras we didn’t set out to bring home thanks to Raymond and his amazing service.

This place is the best. It is my go to for pet supplies. They often have deals on dog treats (buy 3 get 1 free) and they always ensure it works out. Everyone of the staff is great. There is this one light brown haired guy and a woman from South Africa who are particularly awesome!

We always have great customer service here! Barry offered advice & very helpful suggestions for our dog who has suddenly become a picky eater. They offer a large variety of dog foods (and cat food as well as toys & accessories for cats and dogs) and have a frequent buyer program. They also stand behind their products and offer a guarantee on anything that doesn’t work for your pet. Very thankful they are so close by and at such a convenient location right next to King Soopers!

And even on occasion when they don’t, you can always continue to accumulate purchases on certain brands to earn the discount or free bag of that brands dog/cat food.

My Friend told me about chuck and dons candelas location, went in for something to calm our 8 1/2 year old shar-pei English lab mix during firework season.Jackie was fantastic! She took the time to talk with us and recommended some CBD supplements, which led to more questions we had about the food our vet recommended. Found out it wasn't as good as the vet said, she gave us samples to see which one she likes!Thank you Jackie for your time you have gained a loyal new customer!I would highly recommend! Found one staff member very rude. I went to make a dog tag for my pup and there was no sign to say ask for help just a machine and the tags and so I assumed it was like Petsmart where you grab the tag and just enter whatever it and it does it all. After I was over there looking around for 15 minutes clearly confused and trying to figure it out I got it all done and went to pay and the cashier yelled at me to ask for help next time because only staff is allowed to use it. Totally fine I understand but put a sign up or she could have easily said something to me since she was 10 feet away the entire time I was there. That was my first time there but I would definitely not go back.

What a lovely store! My sister and I took her 1yr old pit bulls, Tytus Blu and Loki, to get some treats and toys, and the staff were wonderful! Alicia and Sam were both so knowledgable and helpful. They were also completely unfazed at my sister's dogs - who are both around 70 lbs and interested in everything. While Alicia answered my sister's 100 and 1 questions about food, treats, and toys, Sam and I played with the fur babies. This boutique store is a gem. We got toys to try out (these plastic balls that pop out so you can put treats in them) and they've actually lasted, which is no small feat with pit bulls. Everything, naturally, is a little pricey (this is NOT a place that carries dog chow), but you get what you pay for! Next to a King Sooper's, which is also convenient.
