Loved this cute little hotel! Built in 1911. The owners have decorated it with quirky items thruout! We stayed before Halloween, and they decorated the whole place! Fitting for an old hotel! The bed was very comfortable! The owners were very nice and accommodating! Would've loved another night there!

Beautiful hotel wonderful staff. Immaculately clean and every room is so charming and unique. Full of southern Colorado history.Nearby activities: AntonitoI sits in the center of several great ski resort. The river runs thru it and has great fishing. And of course the great sand dunes are also close.Walkability: The hotel sits in the center of town and has restaurants and shop right outside the front door.

Easy to get to stores, restaurants walking distance. Was greeted by the owners sweet dog and given the tour. The hot tub in rm 2 was simply wonderful. Pool table and movies and books along with a very nice room with kitchenette. Would highly recommend. Very quiet and cozy and safe access.Safety: The main door to all rooms is locked has a code and cameras for safety. The breakfast diner is across the street, there is a food market one block away.

We arrived to find the room was filthy, bedding was not clean, they came and changed the bedding after we complained and the owner actually said that if we weren't happy we could stay in Alamosa,if it wasn't late when we arrived,we would have. No toilet paper,no towels in the bathroom, when we tried to get the shades down, they didn't work, and you could see the dirt on the blinds. Cold coffee in the morning and don't expect a breakfast, no milk, old cereal, DON'T waste your money, stay in Alamosa. We couldn't sleep because of the noise below our room and the lights were so bright that it lit up the room like it was daylight.I've never stayed in such a filthy room, and I would suggest driving the 32 Miles from Alamosa to Antonido for the train ride.

Be sure to request a room away from a family who have children. They were crying all night and yelling all morning. be sure to also request a room from a family who has a dog. The dog was whining and barking. my family unfortunately were in the middle room between both. Didn’t sleep all night. it was also cold and the thermostat only went up so high and there were no extra blankets in the room. the manager was kind enough to credit 1/2 the room. other than that the hotel and rooms were very vintage and it was breathtaking to take a voyage back in time.

Really bad service, just saw the guy when we got there and before we left. For $130.00 the room is not worth it. We're 76 years old and had to claim stairs every time we left and came to the room. Don't recommend itNearby activities: Train ride

Second time. It was awesome. People are super nice. Everything is clean. Nice outdoor patio. Oh and the mill restaurant across street has good burgers for a decent price. They were nice enough to include condiments even thought it was to go. It really means something. Some places now charge for ketchup. Just a kind environment and positive energy. Would definitely recommend

I called this place three weeks ago to make a reservation. The day we were to check in. I called them and gave the lady my name and she Saud your room will be ready I'm an hour. When we went to check in they could not find my reservation. So we had to make other plans. This is not a good way to run a business.

This is a really neat hotel. It's a an old building from 1911. Lots of charm and antiques. The folks who own it are wonderful. It pairs well with the ride on the old steam train.Noteworthy details: If you're looking for the Hilton you won't find it in this town. This is about old world charm. It ticks all the box's for necessities. But well.worth your time. Make sure to get coffee down stairs.

I had a great experience here, we called last minute to find a pet friendly room, we didn't get into town until close to midnight, the manager waited up for is to make sure we got into town and checked in with our two big dogs. We got into one of the discount rooms, the water was hot the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. That's really all we were after. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I were looking for a special place to stay. We found it in antonito, co. A wonderfully eclectic vintage homey experience. We travel continuously for work and stay in hotels alot. The steam train inn offers all the comforts we were looking for. Comfortable beds, bedding, clean, beautiful, charming and completely relaxing. And affordable. Very! The folks running this place are AAA. Down to earth, friendly. They treated us with open charm. How lovely. We love this place.Don't miss this gem. You will regret it. A must do

Walking in we were a little nervous because the front looks very run down. But we were very pleasantly surprised when we got inside. Two rooms fit our 9 people very comfortably. One room had a kitchen and two queen beds. The other a queen, a king, and a couch. We loved the full kitchen. Everywhere we looked was something cool. They have cable with a lot of channels but in the hallway they have a dvd collection as well as some books to read. Across the street is a nice bar and up the block is a good grocery store with very friendly staff. In the room that did not have the kitchen they had a jacuzzi tub which was really nice.I did have a couple issues and warning to give. I did have to wash the coffee pot which kind of grossed me out to think about. Also please use caution if you get the room with the shower and no stall. Aurora he rest of the floor is tile. My baby slipped. She did not hurt herself or anything. Then I took a shower and I almost slipped as well. Again not a huge issue but use caution with littles and the elderly for sure.

A very unique type of hotel. Honestly I'd call it more of a boutique hotel. The original building was made in 1910. So it has the old timey type of feel with original architecture. Has a kitchenette fridge microwave stove our has two beds and thr bathroom very updated with some original pieces thrown in. Only had a stand up shower, would've liked to see a big Ole clawfoot tub and it would've been heaven . Ac is a small window unit, that could've been better but hey still was amazing. Not very handicap accessible tho. In order to get into the hotel the first thing you do is climb a set of stairs and I don't believe there's an elevator. Being disabled I didn't care, but then again I'm not in a wheelchair. So just be forewarned. Also another great thing is they are pet friendly....big plus in my book

If you like "cookie cutter" hotels this wonderful place is not for you, keep driving to the nearest cookie cutter hotel 28 miles north. I stayed overnight in this hotel and it made me feel very comfortable. And to top it off they are dog friendly so I was able to bring my two small dogs (family)with me. In my room there were two full beds, some olde school furniture, and a t.v.. there was a micro wave, larger compact fridge, and coffee maker lol no pot. I don't drink coffee anyway. In the bathroom was a standard size sink and a beautiful claw foot bath tub. No shortage in towels or wash clothes, there was small personal bars of soap. Other than the door that stuck a little I have no complaints. The sticky door just made a little noise that when taking dogs out to do their business may have bothered other guests. I also like the room with the billiards table. All in all we had a great stay and will stay there again.

Very friendly homey feeling. It was an a great atmosphere being away from the kids. Only issue is water does not get how enough to my liking i like to boil lol. And someone else runs the cable box so you have to watch what whoever is watching. Beds are great rooms are fantastic deff recommend the room with the jacuzzi tub love that next time I can even bring the kids bc the couch is a pull out bed.

I'd say, for the town it's a 4 or 5 star. In general, it's about a 4. I love the work that's been done mixing in the old and new. It's the simple stuff like: cups being available with the coffee; effective seals on shower doors so water doesn't get all over the place; someone who knows how to operate the front desk computer to prevent issues checking in or getting a receipt/ bill; batteries for the remote... even with all of that, I'd surely stay again because it's a very interesting place and it's very apparent a lot of work and effort has been put into it. Thanks.

Very unique hotel filled with antiquities in the center of town. He had a nice hot breakfast the next morning. I liked all the personal touches the hotel had. The room was clean, although I did read some other reviews that indicated otherwise. Overall a good stay. Thanks!

Dog-friendly, ghost-friendly, 420-friendly hotel. I was treated like family during my stay. I was impressed by the amazing staff. Mendy is a real problem-solver. Visitors to this hotel receive a 20% discount at the dispensary across the way, 420 Green Genie. My suite included a nice pillow-top mattress with uber-soft microfiber sheets.

Seriously the most hospitable hotel we have ever stayed at! Jennifer was so amazing and such a great host! Couldn’t ask for a more comfy place to stay. The rooms were so authentic and southwestern, breakfast was alaways fresh and hot... best of all yummy coffee. Every morning we would grab a cup of coffee and sit on their cute Terrance patio and drink coffee and hang out. We will definitely be back to stay here!!! If you are in the valley come check this place out!!

Absolutely loved our stay and adored how unique each room was. The owner was super sweet and extremely helpful. The breakfast was delicious and better than you typical continental breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!

Their continental breakfast is a lot better than your typical fare. The owners are very friendly and approachable! They actually have an adorable pet pig named Fred haha. Staying here also nets you discounts at some local places, so that's nice. However, some of the rooms are a little rough. The kitchen suites are very poorly stocked, so I recommend bringing your own cooking utensils.

I was here in early June 2018. Breakfast was a full one with scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee and toast. Hot and delicious. It doesn't get a 5 because, if you have any mobility issues, you should know that all rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator. However, as an amputee with a prosthetic, that wasn't an issue other than the town is at 7000+ ft above sea level so the stairs wore me out. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and spacious. A wonderful experience and I will be going back.
