Had a late lunch there today. Wife had soup (corn chowder)and sandwich (BLT), I had the patty melt. Both were good and the waitress was really nice. Real small town and this restaurant is worth the stop.

I have had my take out orders screwed up here more often than not and I try to avoid this place, I really should have known better.. During a momentary lapse of judgment, I tried to rationalize "how bad could they screw up a club sandwich?" So I got brave, and ordered a club sandwich on wheat bread, with fries, to go. I should have looked at it before I left, because the person who made it clearly has no idea what a club sandwich is, or how to make french fries. There was no bacon or turkey, but instead, ham and roast beef on white bread, with the burnt and scalding hot fries thrown on top of the sandwich so that it too, was hot. Nothing like steaming hot lettuce and mayo, oh boy. The roast beef looked too sketchy for me to trust eating it and I didn't care to drive 15 miles back there to deal with getting a refund, so I put it in the trash and learned yet again never to order anything from this place, ever, no matter how desperate I might be. It's just not worth it.

We get the chance to travel through antonito every couple of years. This was the first time that the trip took us through town during the lunch hour. This little cafe doesn't look like much on the outside but it does have a nice interior and they very decent menu. Their Mexican plates are quite good. The bathrooms are well-maintained.

If you like green chile in the northern New Mexico style, come to the Dutch Mill. Yes, it's in Colorado, but culturally the San Luis valley is similar to northern NM. The stuffed sopapilla, chile rellenos, and huevos rancheros were all delicious.Update: I returned this month (July 2021), and it's still a solid 5 stars for me.

Had lunch there while driving through town. I had a BLT while my wife had a tuna salad sandwich. Both were solid meals and we liked the chips and salsa before the meal. Service was great—my wife had some special t requests and she worked hard to fill them.

Some of the best Mexican-American I've ever had. Im from NY, so don't @ me. Was not expecting this experience based on the sign but holy smokes this place and town I'll remember for a long time. I got the Flauta plate; flavors were amazing especially the pulled chicken.

Expected more from this place as it is talked about often. It wasn't bad, but I can't say it was fantastic either. I ordered a taco salad. It was a nice snack but not what I would appreciate for a meal. If I may, SALAD to me means greens topped with the meat, cheese, etc. not just a sprinkle of lettuce on top of everything. The waitress was nice and accommodating. I would probably go again and order something different just to see if I am more impressed.

We came here based on reviews. We must have come on a very OFF DAY. It was almost 2pm (not lunch rush). More tables empty than full. I walked in and was ignored by several staff before being instructed where to go for a take out order.I placed an order to go for 4 entrees, paid almost $70 and was told 20 minutes... I returned at 20 minutes and was told the order was still being processed. At 30 minutes I had to ask again. At 40 minutes I had to ask again. At 50 minutes I said I really need to leave, as we had a dog waiting in our vehicle. I finally received my order for 4 entrees after 55 minutes.Upon arriving home and unpacking, one side item was incorrect, two items were missing, the bread was inedible. But the worst offenses were I PAID for 3 enchiladas and got 2 and they were not even cooked after 55 minutes and our chicken was so hot when placed in a Styrofoam container that it melted through (health hazard).There aren't many options in this small town and I guess that's how they maintain business, but I definitely do not recommend them based on quality of food and service.I am also baffled why a historic building has such bizarre artwork and chose to retain no original charm.

A nice out of the way restaurant with delicious homemade Mexican food. Ok prices with friendly down home service. Welcoming atmosphere with interesting artwork. There's a large bar nextdoor but it's hardly ever open. If you find yourself in Antonito, Dutch Mill is worth the stop.

Neighborhood bar and restaurant. The kitchen was understaffed when we were there so it was 30 min or so before we got our food, which was delicious. If you are not in a hurry, a good place to try.

The name is deceiving. They have delicious Mexican food. Service was great. Chimichangas and the Enchiladas terrific. The sopapillas were yummy. Great place, give it a try.

Stopped at Dutch Mill Cafe for lunch as we were site seeing. There were 4 of us and everyone was highly pleased with their food! The green and red sauce were especially great! The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. While we were there, the place was packed with locals, which is always a great sign of terrific food!

The food at this place is terrific—way better than you’d expect for a roadside place in a tiny town. My son’s steak and eggs (a real steak, not one of those minute steaks) was cooked perfectly medium rare, with nice runny over-easy eggs. And my Dutch Mill Skillet was delicious, with big chunks of ham and green chilies blended into softly scrambled eggs.But the service? Eh. Not so much. Very slow. Our water, salt and hot sauce arrived just as we were finishing our breakfast. Had we waited to eat until we had them, our food would have been ice cold. Fortunately, it was good enough that you didn’t really need the salt OR the hot sauce. Would have been nice though.
