We had to take our camper in for a roof leak. Unfortunately, the drive was nearly 800 miles round trip, but the team took the time and care to fix it right to ensure we didn’t have to make that trip another time.Special thanks to Brenda for her great communication with us and the team and to Matt who didn’t stop working on it until it was done right!Four Wheel made us comfortable in the waiting room (next to the show room) while we waited for them to perform water tests to diagnose the problem. All around, as great of an experience that it could’ve been.

I have traveled the world for 4 years and you can see my profile I leave reviews all over the world and have only left 10 one star reviews. My experience and excitement of owning and becoming part of the FWC family: beyond disappointing. Here’s what happened Step by step.1) private purchase 2011 Fleet shell, custom build2) owner set up the install took 7 phone calls to Brenda to do3) day before the install Brenda calls me with 3 concerns for the install 1) the current install of the diesel heater exhaust will not fit the bed properly 2) the wiring was upgraded from original FWC wiring from 10 to 4 gauge and they cannot touch it and 3) quoted $1,000 for the Toyota Tacoma specific install kit, I would need to pay and additional $400 for slats to clear my bed rails. When I asked for further information on the slats they are just 2x4s. One would think a thousand dollar install kit specific for your truck would include that. I talked to the previous owner and he supplied the boardsDay of install. We walk around the entire camper, being that it is a 2011 I ask if there is anything on the camper that should be upgraded to todays standards or replaced. I’m new here, I have no idea. She says no, but for traveling full time it would be a good idea to have extra fuses and turnbuckles.Install proceeds, I don’t need the solar hooked to the battery at the moment. I explain I am having a Bowen Bed installed in two months and being that’s it’s 100+ degrees each day here in California I am obviously not going to be using the diesel heater.Brenda continues to explain the diesel heater and gas/water canisters mounted between the camper and cab won’t fit. I am thinking okay, let’s find a solution to avoid touching said liabilities so I can leave with the camper the way I purchased it.We find a middle ground to remount the exhaust, it clears the width of the bed no problem. We remove the gas and water containers and agree to zip tie the diesel line inside the bed and cap the canister so it can easily be reattached.I go to the waiting room and message another employee — he immediately sendstwo videos with a solution — being a 2011 the bumper are old and could be changed to the bumpers currently used which would allow the space for the gas / water canisters to stay as purchased as well as leaving the heater and diesel line in place as is, avoiding all liability.I go back out, Brenda instructed them to separate the diesel line and not the way I consented to.I present the information given to me and Brenda stated verbatim, “that would cost you hundreds of dollars” I sigh yeah well you tried to charge me $400 for 4 2x4s so probably.Camper gets installed, gas / water canisters at the rear, exposing them to the sun and when an employee attempted to wrap the diesel heater (because she had them dismount it) she said no, it’s a liability. But dismounting it and leaving it hang to bang around it is not?Brenda prepares my invoice and I ask about the bumpers. It is 1425 and she says well we can sell you the bumpers but it’s to late in the day to install them. Five minutes later she returns with the bumpers and the invoice. FOURTY FIVE DOLLARS. 45 !!! Unbelievable. So she lied when she said hundreds and created this disaster.I pay and leave.Arrive home to find the diesel line is leaking fuel. Great.Send and email and ask for a bumper install date. Mind you I am traveling full time. I do not live here or even in the state. I barely live in the country. No answer. I call 24 hours later. They can install next Wednesday, 7 days out PLUS pay for labor. Her recommendation for the diesel is to dump it out or go to the gas station and see if anyone wants it … seriously? She calls me back suggesting I drive (120 miles) to Reno because I might upgrade the solar and he can KP install the bumpers?1 week later, uninstall camper, Install bumpers, move gas/water back to the front, replace with the original bolts. No charge on day of, discovered they broke the leveling tool when they put the tanks on the back.Worst experience ever.

LOVE....We bought a 2022 Hawk, Used a few times. The heater wouldn't work and FWC changed it out for us. It works great now!We thought we needed more battery but they diagnosed it quickly and saved us a ton of money. We love their campers and customer service is excellent. Worth every penny.

Thanks Matt for our new lift assists ,('the one finger lift'), and also going over needed safety updates for our 17 year old Hawk. Still working great and ready for more fun trips! Watch his videos, there isn't anything he doesn't know about them! Next to do: add roof racks for kayaks! We'll keep on 🚚 truckin'!

After waiting 15 months to receive my camper and paying for it, the factory will not return any of my emails. I bought the Grandby Shell model so I could finish the inside like I wanted. I asked basic questions about wiring diagrams and where I could drill thru the outside shell to add connections. The outside seems well built but the interior cabinets are cheap. Hopefully I can upgrade this camper to my standards.

Not too thrilled that I spent $16k on a project m camper to find out how poorly it was put together. Concept is a great idea but with the price and time I waited for this camper I truly am disappointed with the craftsmanship. I highly suggest going over the whole thing and make sure bolts are tightened and windows secure. I made a list of things that I had to fix for reference.-Bolts loose on stationary jack mounts-Shelfs had loose bolts-Wiring to the battery came undone-Small driver side window wasn’t sealed and had a huge gap.-Never shown how to operate the fan-Camper bolts to bed rail were loose-Broken bolts not removed and fixed-Rippling in plastic sheeting due to bolts being installed sideways-They only give you two extension plates for jacks-Sliding screen was loose and had a dented track. Had to adjust

Purchased a project M and was scheduled to have installed around 8/21. Was there all day because they could not hookup the 3rd brake light up during installation. Told us to come back at another time that we scheduled. Drove another 5 hours round trip and stayed all day and they still could not get it right. Took it to a local auto electric company and they hooked it up with no problems. They said that there was 2 blown fuses and the wiring was messed up by the previous people that worked on it. This truck was bought new by us and at the time only 3 years old. Pretty disappointed. We have not used it yet and 2 of the plastic panels inside are both cracked. They sent one and we will have to order another.

Overall, this camper is well-built, however for the cost, there should be no obvious flaws, at least in my view. I bought a new Hawk in August, 2020. I have only been able to use it three times. The second time I used it, I noticed that the battery was at half charge after the first night. This was just a one day trip so I didn't pay too much attention since the battery was only a couple months old. I just used the camper again for the third time (July, 2021, camper and battery are not yet one year old). This was to be our best trip this summer! We got up into the mountains, far away from anything and I found that the battery was completely DEAD!! I had the battery on shore power three days prior to the trip and when we packed, everything seemed fine. If would have checked the battery, I would likely have found that it was bad and that the charge I did see was simply a surface charge. I didn't think to check the battery because it is supposedly not even one year old. Our one trip this year, ruined by a bad battery!! I have owned boats with batteries that sit for years, but because they are quality batteries, they always charge and prove to be very reliable. I won't go into the fact that the factory did not install a latch on my screen door. I will just say, if I could do it over, I would go with another company. For the amount of money these campers cost, one should not have to check things like batteries and screen doors.

We were so excited to buy a custom four wheel camper and ordered it with a flat top stove and sink. 1-year of anticipation and it was delivered with a clunky stove above the counter and a regular open top sink with a dent in it to boot! Four Wheel campers customer service promised to deliver the flat top appliances mounted in a new countertop 2-months ago. Got a call from our dealer this morning saying it wasn't in the latest shipment they received. Glad we had to deal with yesterday's snowstorm and traffic to get to their garage only to find out it was a waste of time. Thanks for nothing FWC customer service. Please refund me my money for the upgrade you didn't deliver on.

Stopped in with my new used Hawk for proper installation on my truck... I can't believe there are still places that are happy to see you at the end if a long day, giving you extra work to do, and they smile the whole time! Supreme quality work, excellent product. So happy! Much love!

Ordered replacement parts for the front and rear panels that push up the roof (which are broken) three months ago and still have not received them with no promise as to when, if ever, I will. I agreed to the $950 installation and replacement cost. I have had numerous promises of delivery and installation but they unequivocally tell me that warranty and replacement work is their LAST priority and that they will not get to manufacturing replacement parts while they have new camper orders. Further, they were rude in discussing. Heads-up, if you ever need warranty work or replacement parts, it will happen, if ever, when they are good and ready, which may be months. I have been without my camper the entire Summer waiting for these parts. This is a follow-up to my initial review, with a one star rating. I subsequently received a phone call from John and Jay at Four Wheel and they were very polite and very accommodating, advising that I will have my replacement parts by the end of the month (less than two weeks away). As a result, I am changing my review to five stars.

I picked up my Hawk Shell model in July 2021. The first time I drove down the highway in the rain, I had 5 spots that the camper leaked. It ruined my sheets and comforter after the dye from the mattress leached through all of the bedding. I think 5 leaks is ridiculous but I worked with my dealer for warranty and the work was performed, including a new window. Now my problem is the new window leaked through the glass seal just like the original. I really like the camper and have had several good trips in it ,but FWC needs to install a quality window that can stand up to a blowing rain.

We loved our 2003 used Eagle and decided to buy a new Hawk. We had an unattached propane line to the water heater and a broken shower mixing valve before using the camper. Now on the road our bedding is soaked from a large leak in the roof during a rain storm. What next in our new $33K Hawk? VERY DISAPPOINTED & DISSATISFIED.

I have been doing my research on Pop-up campers that will fit a full size truck and Toyota Tacoma. Four Wheel Campers make light weight function-able, four wheel ready low profile cab over campers.I was not disappointed. They also believe in providing a construction quality oriented camper. I was impressed and treated well on my tour of their show room models and the completed models on the ready to ship product line. If their camper is in your wheel house of possibility I strongly encourage a visit to their factory in Woodland, CA prior to you crossing their camper from your list.

I applaud Four Wheel Campers for your excellent workmanship and high end materials. We have owned our Four Wheel Camper for 11 summers. We have always placed it in covered storage and it has had excellent care. We bought it as a shell, with an overhead bed, storage bench and a wonderful furnace. We installed a fridge and cooking stove with storage underneath. We have been able to camp in secluded places in the Rockies and South West as well as many spectacular places in the US and we never needed hookups. We really can go ANYWHERE. The ventilation from the overhead screens is wonderful on hot summer days. With a gentle breeze, we have been comfortable even sleeping in Nebraska when it was over a hundred degrees outside. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your vision, your determination to produce a quality product that lasts, and for the wonderful years we have had camping in our beloved rig.

If i could give no stars i would. This place is awful. The new CEO is a bully and steals money from you. He could care less about keeping the name alive of this great buiness. He has taught his team to lie cheat and steal. Then tells you that your are being hostile and rude to him.I made a purchase here and was very excited about the already build Hawk we were buying. After doing research on how this would be installed and contacting them about my concerns they played games. I went down to speak with them about the install process and they could not answer. When i asked for more information and paper work that’s when the lies started to come out and the back and fourth between the instal techs and and the sales team. When i asked to speak to the CEO i was told he wasn’t available. I only asked as i wanted my deposit back and to bring to his attention how his employees where not sharing and helping me the customer to understand some important information, the also said he is the only one to be able to refunded a deposit. Not once did someone say let me see when he will be back or let me take your number and have him call you. Finally i was told he would be back in 2 hours so iwaited. At which point while waiting his VP came and was speaking to the office girls which are very sweet. I happened to say hi you guys don’t have a way to reach him to let him know he has a customer in need to speak with him. The VP then yelled at me i don’t have to give you anything. I was so thrown back as i was speaking to the office girls who again were very nice.Thats is when i asked who he was. Finally after waiting 3 hours the CEO walked in walked passed me and then 20 min later came and got me. I knew by his tone and approach this was not going to be a good conversation.Long story short i explained my experience and he was so rude and so awful. After an hour later i walked out in tears and anger from how he spoke to me he tried to belittle me and lie.My husband was finally able to get our money back after the CEO saying i will give it back minus $500. Why did he feel the need to keep $500 they did nothing. This was a already built camper noting being done to it. He did just because he could. Awful buiness practice. Beware if you have to ask questions.

What a great company to deal with. We are so happy with our new Hawk Shell and we owe it all to Stan and Pete in the office. You just can't beat buying a new slide in camper direct from the factory. Forget dealing with those big RV dealers, go straight to the HQ!

Four Wheel Campers is a very professional and customer oriented company. Besides building a superior product, they listen to customer suggestions on upgrading the product. Our Hawk model was built in May 2012, and is still in top shape. We have taken 2 cross-country trips and taken it on many secondary dirt and gravel paths. If you want a camper that can take off road, and bad weather, FWC is the one.

Poor customer service and support for used campers....Jay, I talked to you and Aaron several times on the phone and through email over the course of several months. The standard answer was always, “I’ll check on that and get back to you” during each step of the order process. I never got a call back and when I called back I usually got voicemail.

Extremely poor customer service, never answers the phone, can’t leave a message. Was hoping to purchase a camper but now definitely reluctant due to the fact I would never be able to get a hold of them.
